My TimeSplitters Love Letter
So FreeRadical has been bought. Granted, there has been very little fan fare over it, no real news stories, but Crytek would NOT have bought the studio if it wasn’t going to use what they had. And the one thing that Free Radical has is TimeSplitters. So this is an open letter to both of those studios of what I want to see in TimeSplitters 4.
1- I want to see EVERY level from the first three games. A Few are remade for every game – including the Chinese level and the Streets. But I want them all. I loved Planet X from Future Perfect, but I still love the original Planet X from the first game. And the UFOpia level from two is one of my all time favorites. I want all of those and a slew of new ones for four. The madness of that many levels is just mind boggling.
2- The return of the Brick. And the exploding watermelons. And the whole assortment of odd ball weapons. Bring them on.
3- Make it a straight multi-player game. Let’s all be honest, Future Perfect pretty much ended the story line. Why drag it on like a bad soap opera when you can instead make it into the single best multi-player game ever? And all the space you will free up by ditching the story mode will make the choices that much better.
4- More vehicles. The vehicles in Future Perfect seemed like an after thought. Let’s do better vehicle integration for the fourth time around.
5- More assault levels. You all have no idea how challenging some of those older assault levels were in the earlier games. It is a real feat to actually win the assault. That’s why I loved to make assault levels that were seriously stacked against the attackers. I had made this one that forced the attackers to play from a long trench where auto turrets were around every corner and the defenders had the high ground. Sweetness.

6- Drop the Challenges. Let everything be opened by earning achievements and other options in multi-player. It’s not like I did not like the challenges, it’s just I really want a superior multi-player game. Like the story mode, this could free up more choices for that.
7- An army of characters. Timesplitters has never lacked in this department, so bring all the characters back from the first three and then add to it. Maybe even a custom character creator! That you could upload and share! Holy Hell, the very thought of an abundance of craziness to choose from makes my brain hurt.
8- The mapmaker! It has always been excellent, but how about the option to mix up the tile sets instead of being locked into one set for each map based on your choice? This is like the uploadable characters. The mass amount of maps you can get from this is beyond what you expect. I PROMISE you that I will recreate my discoteca of doom. Talk about a bad ass level that people always commented to me about.
9- Find a publisher that will support the game. EA dropped the ball on Future Perfect with just bare minimum support.
10 -Some sort of fun exclusives if you preorder the game would be awesome. Like a super nifty collectors edition with some cool ass goodies. I would do that one in a heart beat.
So that’s my list. What else do you all want to see in this 4th game? Tell us!
BRING ON TIMESPLITTERS 4!!!! MONKEY JUSTICE AWAITS ALL WHO OPPOSE STONE!!!!!

I was thinking that they should have challenges, but then also have co-op challenges.
