Sacred 2 Pushed Back…Again? The Art of Release Dates.

As we were preparing to get our hands on a review copy of the Heavy Metal laced RPG Slasher, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, we got word that the game will be pushed back once again to the release date of May 12th.

Originally planned to release at the same time as the PC version the Consoles version was pushed back into Feb, then March, and now to May. All this shifting and confusion has left some fan forums on fire with angry comments like these here and here.

So you might think Angry Joe would be happy to join those voices complaining about the game’s release date. You’d be wrong.

It might annoy or disappoint me but the one thing I try never to get Angry about is a games release date (unless it gets out of hand). The reason is simple, The developers owe it to us to make their game as bug-free and polished as they can before its release and if that takes a few more weeks, months, then so be it. The game will be better off for it. The way it should be is that they only have one chance to get it right, but the way it is unfotunately in these days is developers will release a game under pressure from the publisher before its ready – then patch the game through multiple patches sometime later. Now THATS something to get Angry about.

So I say, take your time CDV. Fix up all the issues that was said to plague the PC version and make the console version your most polished work. There’s plenty for us to do in the mean time.

See you guys around May 12th for our final review!
