Now I don’t watch a lot of TV, I just don’t have time anymore but one of the few television channels I do watch has just announced that they are officially changing their name, from Sci-fi to “SyFy”.

Are you kidding me? That’s the stupidest effing name I’ve ever heard! What the EFF for?!?!?

Well apparently this is some attempt by the Exec’s at sci-fi, eerrr excuse me “SyFy”, to broaden their appeal (i.e. water down their channel with more ECW wrestling and crappy reality tv shows).

Some high-up executive thinks that the “general populace” has a vendetta and hatred for the English alphabet letter “ i ”, and that changing it to the more friendly (i.e. panzy-mamzy) “ y ” will net them more viewers. Horse crap.

Whych Marketing genyous came up wyth thys one?

I think I know why. If they used more reality shows, then it won’t be Sci-Fi since it’s REALITY. So they decide to make it sound like Sci-Fi, but not spelled like it so they won’t confuse moms.

Or they love spending their money in this recession on needless brand changes.
