Yeah. Played 11 – and yeah it was really slow paced.
Their announcement and interview on E3 intrigued me though – saying they have revamped the whole battle / leveling system and the need for party thingy >,>. Looks like they might have learnt from their past mistakes and finally listen to user comments.

Haha!!! I’m loving the videos, don’t stop doing them, really nice! I’ll have to disagree with one thing: Star Wars >>>> Star Trek, but that Picard in the end almost made the difference in favor of Star Trek
The previous Star Wars MMO was probably one of the best MMOs ever made, great atmosphere, lots of customization, it was perfect, until the damn Patch that changed the gameplay and classes which turned out to kill the game for most of the players. I’d probably continue to play the game nowadays if that patch wasn’t around… Hope this new one will kick ass!

Woo! Star Trek all the way! Although, I don’t know Picard that well, and Kirk is my favorite. Captain wise at least. I’m definitely going to sign up for it when it comes out. Space and ground missions is definitely really cool!

first off i am not a SOE fan but you do hav to give them credit they were the ones with Everquest which paved the way for WoW and basically the popularity of MMO’s in general in my opinion. (Though to be honest they went downhill from there ever since that game.)
Next at first I liked the idea of the Star Trek game, however it reminded me of another Atari MMO, Horizons: Empire of Istaria. They basically promised much of the same stuff with the battles ( minus outer space) and the guilds with stations (castles), housing, epic battles from the structures, and an economy based on players as in Star Trek. What worries me is that it will have to rely on the Star Trek fans because it seems to me that it is Horizons in Space, and Atari had to file for bankruptcy and were bought out and changed the entire game world (which made me leave it since i did not want to relearn a game). To the best of my knowledge Horizons is still running, maybe check it out to see the main features and what to expect.
Though I feel Star Wars will be a great one loved the series and willing to try it out.

Well it seems like noone’s sidin with stargate worlds so let me be the first. Anyway I think this will be a pretty good MMORPG since hey I’m a huge fan of stargate. Anyway i hope this will be as good as i think it is.

I know that wow will crush them. Played it for a long time but not anymore.
But if i would pick any of those new mmo’s it would be Starwars. Bioware got the starwars universe to a new level with Kotor I and II. Then again i wish it wasnt an mmo (sad face).

When it comes to choosing between the Sith and Jedi, I get annoyed by both. The Sith aren’t afraid to use the full extent of their abilities, but they’re fuckin pricks. All they really did on Korriban in kotor was boss you around. With the exception of the big Sith Lords (Malak and Traya for example), they never accomplished anything but increase the size of their ego. Now with the Jedi on the other hand, they usually managed to get a job done. They were noble and would lend a hand when needed. But they always limited themselves on what they should or shouldn’t do. Almost everything is a path to the damn dark side with them. They won’t use certain abilities because “its not right”, even if it would be the best thing to do.
Now in Mass Effect they had something that met up to what I think the Jedi/Sith should act like: Spectres. They worked for the council to do good things, but they would use any method they wished to get it done. If they needed information out of someone, for example, but the person wouldn’t tell them since he didn’t trust them, they could take the time to gain that trust so they could get the information or they could use methods of torture.
If you could bring that ideal into the Jedi order, or even the Sith, they would be the most badass badasses the universe would ever know!
But since that’s not going to happen, I would have to stick with the Jedi. Also, the preferred game would be either Star Wars or Star Trek, as I know nothing about Star Trek but the description you gave made it seem like it would be more enjoyable. Though I have devoted myself to Star Wars for the longest time.

I don’t know but Star Trek just doesnt seem to be good when i saw the first trailer/video the ground gameplay looked like anarchy online and i got bored of that game. The space gameplay i have no clue about but i think eve can destroy Star Trek because Eve has ALOT and i mean ALOT of systems which is more then Star Treks “unlimited uncharted space” i think Star Trek had more then that then 99.99% no one would ever see. Eve may be boring at first but it becomes so addicting then on.

I decided long ago that Star Wars: The Old Republic was the MMO for me, got rather sick of Guild Wars’ lack of personal story. Star Trek looks interesting, but I haven’t seen enough of the series to be a fan.

I’ve never really liked Star Trek. It’s too perfect. It’s as though technology has changed people, made them nicer. Buut technology doesn’t do that. The only StarTrek epsiode I’ve really liked was “Mirror, Mirror” hehe. Loving that facial hair

Okay, here’s my complaint with DC Universe.
Chris says, “You have to be a hero or villain. You can’t be anything in between.”
But I’m a vigilante. I don’t coordinate with heroes or villains, I work best by myself or with circumstantial allies. I don’t want to choose between playing good or evil. I want to do whatever the Hell I want with whatever I can use to my advantage. So here’s my proposition to the developers.
I want the option to just deny the Leagues completely.
Yes, I want the option to save the world, but only to my own terms. Not by the rules of others.
And so, by the end of my gun and the power of my parasitic super-strength, I will help to keep the peace in the DC Universe by kicking the ass of anyone who happens to PISS ME OFF (I’m looking at you, Stone)! Failure to comply with these demands will…uh…I’ll have to think on that.
Star Wars looks good. Planning on making a Kyle Katarn-esque character.
I dunno about Star Trek. Ship-to-ship is not exactly my cup of tea.
Can’t they make an MMO based off the Sid Meier’s Pirates! franchise? I’d play the **** out of that!

I’d have to agree with you, I like being an “Anti-Hero” but not nessecarily a Bad guy, just someone who does their own thing and lives by their own rules. But thats not in Star Wars Old Republic, Star Trek Online, or DC Universe Online…..
