Movie Review: Angels & Demons

Stone here and I love Dan Brown’s latest books. I forgot how much I enjoyed the sophistication of the Robert Langdon character. I read the DaVinci Code before I read Angels and Demons which was first, so I guess I can’t really complain with how they made the first book the movie sequel.

Watching this movie made me remember why I loved these books to begin with – I am an adventure/treasure quest movie junkie. I have always loved Indiana Jones and more recently National Treasure. Solving puzzles and going out on adventures are just fun to watch. I started out approaching this movie with a hard outlook cause DaVinci Code kinda let me down. Now I can say this is a great movie if you are into this kinda thing. If you don’t like puzzle solving adventure movies than skip it. It’s nothing epic, just something fun to watch. It was nice to be in a theatre with no idiot teens or kids anywhere being stupid. I like the way Dan Brown approaches religion. I love how he delves into history and crafts these amazing stories. I was drawn into the urgency as time runs out in this movie and the acting is great.

WHAT I LIKED
1- I like Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon
2- The whole mystery hunt for the Illuminati is cool.
3- The cardinal on fire on the church was awesome.
4- Great plot twist.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
1- It makes me jones for the third book coming out this fall.
2- Didn’t the guards realize that HEY! Their captain didn’t go into that room with a branding iron!
3- Vitoria was hot.

I give this flick a solid 3 of 5 Fists of Fury. Go see it if you want, or wait for the dvd. Either way, you won”t be disappointed.

Stone Out.
