Angry Joe Army – Rapid Deployment Mission #00 Star Trek
Mission Briefing:
General Joe Here and I’m issuing a Formal Order to all on duty Army members to see Star Trek in Theaters. This movie is Joe Approved and anyone who doesn’t have at least a bit of fun watching it should submit their resignation to me immediately.
Mission Objective:
The Goal here is to help make Joe’s Prediction of a $100 million dollar opening weekend a reality. This is going to be a pretty difficult task, since the largest opening ever for a star trek film before was Star Trek: First Contact in 1996 at $30.7 million. Of course I wouldn’t Issue a mission if it wasn’t difficult but worth the payoff in the end.
So go see the film, call up a few friends, invite them with you and rest easy knowing that you will be treated to a great time in the theater, guaranteed.
Secondary Objective:
Report back to this post, vote on the films rating and share your thoughts.
Generals Speech:
“While we may be few in number, i’d would rather watch this film alongside anyone of you than those who would doubt the awesomeness of the new Star Trek. As soon as the public see’s AngryJoer’s in theaters watching this film they will come by the thousands, WE WILL TRIUMPH! Follow me to the ticket counter or use…….FANDANNNGOOOOOOOOOOO” *runs toward theater, knocking over bystanders along the way*
Action Steps:
• Let us know in the comments if you Plan to see the movie!
• If your seeing it in IMAX mention that too. (that’s double the ticket price)
• Return here to this post with your Formal Report on how you thought the film was, Rating it from 1 to 5 stars.

[...] Trek would do 100$ million opening weekend – beating Wolverines $85 million. Unfortunately, even with a Rapid Deployment Angry Army Mission – Star Trek was only able to do $76.5 in its debut, short of my prediction and unable to best [...]
I saw it, and I really liked it. There was a real problem with the projector though, there was a hair on the film. But back to the movie itself, my only complaints are the lens flare, and how often Kirk is hanging from a cliff or climbing something. Apart from that a solid film.
Star Trek rules! LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!
okay just got back from the theater: this movie was awesome…
The space battle scenes were great, and the references, to the old TVShow among others, were well done.Even the details were given enough thought (like that last kiss before going to the spaceship, which says a lot about how things are different from the old continuity).
And the cast…Pine and Quinto were really great, especially Pine, who manages to be an absolute badass, despite his losing almost every hand to hand fight scene in the movie.
His interpretation of James T. Kirk is what makes this movie above average, so kudos to him…
5 stars ? rly ? this movie is not perfect … omg ppl
I dont consider anything perfect. So that being said our 5 star rating or 10 out of 10 scores for our game will never really imply that the game is perfect, just that its worth every cent of your money immediately – i’ll explain our ratings system in detail in the future…. Still hammering away at our new site design..
i just saw wolverine tonight
but i plan to see star trek on this wednesday i vmax (like imax i think)
pew pew lasers and explosions ftw
seen it loved it going to see it again
Your review on angryJoeShow most definitely made me wanna go see it RIGHT NOW…It’ll have to wait till tomorrow though…
My family took me to the release showing yesterday. We even got the pleasure of seeing some people show up in costume and the theater trying to pawn off their Star Trek poster to the fans for 200 dollars.
Anyway.
I personally thought it was a pretty good action flick. It didn’t really feel like Star Trek to me. Granted, I knew it wasn’t going to be your typical Star Trek film. The reviews stated it was going to be the Star Trek for the entire family to enjoy.
And, to avoid spoilers for anyone reading this, I’m going to just say I didn’t like the whole… Time deal. It’s way overdone in Sci-fi movies. Star Trek as a series has a habit of throwing in time travel to make things canon and then retcon said events. Voyager was mostly time travel, which was silly, but awesome at the same time.
The cast was great. Being someone who grew up with every Star Trek series out there, I thought they had the cast dead on. Scottie made me laugh a lot. Then again, he always made me laugh when I was a kid. Possibly my favorite character in both the original and the new movie.
The only thing that REALLY bugged me was the overdone CG effects. Everything looked so… Fake. Looked really plasticy and all that wonderful stuff. That and the lens flare was annoying at times. JJ put too much in the flim IMO.
Anyway, I’d give the film a solid… Three out of five.
I’ll probably go see it again and hope I’ll be less biased towards the movie and enjoy it for what it is.
Hardly ever go to the cinema, but it sounds great! Hopefully il go see it when it comes out here in england.
I Going to see it tonight
I would expect nothing less from the “Endless Crusader” glad to have you apart of our Force! Bring your friends with you. I’ll be going again this weekend as well!
