Stone’s Favorite Dead Shows.

Stone here and I am always afraid to watch a show and like it for the shows I love are always, always cancelled too early. Sometimes they last for a few seasons, but they always end before they are ready. I figured I would share some of my past loves with you all. You can find most of these on dvd, so go out and discover the greatness of the past!

Farscape. Wow, what an amazing cast and an amazing series. It was forced off SciFi for Stargate, which was lost from Showtime. Of the two, Farscape is far superior. I like stargate and all, but it is missing the grandeur that Farscape had. Aryn Sun rocked my world on that show. Claudia Black is an uber hottie. It was fun and involving and dramatic. It ended abruptly on an extremely knee kicking cliffhanger and the shows following demanded a true conclusion, so we got the Peace Keeper wars, a fitting end to the series.

Pushing Daisies. This is one of those quirky ass shows that someone had the balls to put up against some big name shows, like survivor and crap like that. I love me some Tim Burton, and this show reeks of him even though he had nothing to do with it. Season one was over far too quickly, and season two didn’t last too long. Big surprise, another cancelled show that should still be on the air. I have yet to see most of season two as ABC just hasn’t done much with it, but I’ll have the season soon enough on dvd to go next to my season one set.

Boston Public. This is my number one request on DVD. This drama set in a boston high school always delivered. As the series progressed, the seasons got pushed back to the last minute and the production values started to reflect it. One week during season four it just wasn’t on anymore, and never came back. This is one of those shows like Farscape that has the perfect cast, including the Smell My Shoe mother. I have no idea how the season ended and I have no idea if there will ever be dvds either.

Invader Zim. I don’t have to explain this one too much I am guessing. But seriously Nickelodeon, what the fuck were you expecting when you went to the guy who made JOHHNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC and asked him to do a cartoon for you? I would have loved to see that meeting.

The OC. Yeah, I am one of those people who loved the OC. I feel it got a bad wrap with the whole Marissa season three escapade, but what ever. I would have loved to see it go on for more, but in reality I think it ended on the right note instead of being drug out like 90210. And the best thing the OC brought us was Chrismakkauh.

He-Man. On the cartoon network. Talk about a bad ass cartoon! And they were leading into the whole She-Ra and Hordak story lines too!!! Fuck me. As you may know, He man is my all time favorite childhood cartoon. Nothing could compare for me, not even the freaking Silverhawks.
So those are a few of my favorites. What are some of your shows cancelled before their time?

Stone out.

Anyone ever see a series called Life as we know it? I thought it was pretty good and it ended pretty abruptly after only 13 episodes. It got cancelled just because some other big name series was on at the same time.

Farscape and Zim were amazing. I also miss something that is completely out of the genre, HBO’s Rome. The two main characters, Pullo and Vorenus, both must have decapitated, butchered, speared and basically slaughtered about one hundred people (some of the time it was murder, even by Roman standards), but you still liked them.

Boston Legal comes to mind, though it did run for 5 sesons. Ah hell, as several non-stop sunday marathons with upwards of 3 seperate trips to the local video store prove, you could never have enough of this show. It’s insanly funny and if you haven’t seen it, go get it right now!
