We Lost the Battle but will Win the War!

Battlefield Update! As you may know I issued a Rapid Deployment Mission for all avaliable Angry Joer’s on Active Duty to See Star Trek in theaters during its opening weekend in order to help boost its weekend take in – So how’d we all do?

Battlefield Report:
Estimates are putting the total around $76.5 Million Dollars, short of our lofty goal of $100 million but WELL above the movie suits estimate of $50 Million. While we weren’t able to overcome the 100 million mark or Wolverines take of $86 Million (Star Trek came out in fewer theaters) we did win some key battles:

• Best Opening Ever for a Film in IMAX Theaters beating Dark Knight
• Shattered the Previous Star Trek’s Film record of $30.7 Million with First Contact
• Currently Rated very highly among critics even at 96% at Rotten Tomatoes

Wolverine Dropped from an $85 million to $27 million in just one single week. A huge 68 percent drop, and something tells me Star Trek might have more staying power than Wolverine with all of its positive reviews.

Debriefing:
We may have Lost the Battle, But we will Win the War! The ladies loved hugh Jackman so much they came out in force, but I think Star Trek will overall do better that Wolverine when all is said and done. This is a film (star trek) that i’m definitely buying on DVD when it comes out. Wolverine? Not so much.
