The Lightning Thief
STONE HERE, and I discovered the Percy Jackson books on accident. It was something someone told me I’d like and just forgot about until I found The Lightning Thief. I went “Hey isn’t thhis that book…” and yes it was. And yes, it was good. And now the movie is set to hit theatres for my birthday.
For those of you who don’t know what the concept behind Percy Jackson is, well it’s like Harry Potter. Almost. Instead of wizards and witches, you got demigods. Instead of teachers, you have Greek Gods, instead of a school there is a summer camp. The kids are left to fend for themselves in the real world all year as monsters are attracted to them once they become known. It’s pretty dark from the get go. It doesn’t sugar coat any mythology, and has a lot to do with the Titans. The teaser took me by surprise at Half Blood Prince. Here it is for you all to see –
I can’t wait. It’s going to be awesome to see the Gods and the whole story play out. I also can’t wait to see how they handle all the mythological creatures and more. Come on February. Finally a good movie to see around my birthday.

I went and saw this movie….
Goddamn i have regret it! The commercials on tv showed the fun scenes and what you see on television are the best parts of the movie!
I got to the theater for free (i had a voucher for 1 free movie) but i had better picked the wolfman to see!

Looks lame as hell. They totally messed up how Percy looks and it just looks like it’s made of fail. We’ll see though, could be good. Doubt it.

Between this and the live action Avatar movie that’s coming out next year too I am really pumped. They aren’t guaranteed victory, but I’m very optimistic.
