Toy Soldiers (XBLA): JoeHanced
Now here’s an Interesting Game, Toy Soldiers for XBLA releasing sometime early next year. The coolest part about this game is the fact that all the action is taking place on a Tabletop! Check it out!
I’m a Huge Geek, Boardgamegeek member in fact. I’ve got a whole Tall Cabinet filled with boardgames most of which include heavy “toy” factor with miniatures. While video games may never give you the same tangible satisfaction of playing with toys like the real thing, Toy Soldiers is hoping to offer its own kinda experience.

ok for toy soilder looks good the voteing thing is not that gr8 wich is y i left a comment i mite buy it at 1200mp i say maybe it looks gr8 4 a XBLA game and looks worth the 1200mp but i dont love that type of game maybe

I think its good they picked WWI since its an underused genre… the focus on heavy weapons and fictional vehicles definitely makes it more interesting. I would have played for hours if I had toys like that growing up.

There are no WWI games, it’s about time for this! I love the Tsar Tank, so they have the Eastern Front as well. REALLY cool.

Actually, there have been WWI games in the past. A few Medal of Honor games took place in WWI, though, I get your point. WWII is an over used setting in the world of video games and just about any type of virtual medium.

It looks interesting, but the whole concept on plastic soldiers killing each other has been done with the “Army Men” series (by is which, in my opinion, a very fun game series that peaked on the N64, too bad the games after the console never lived up to the N64 predecessors). Though, it has defiantly caught my attention and, who knows, those who are familiar with the Army Men series might feel a slight amount of nostalgia.

you know what this kinda reminds me of? the “army men” series from pack in the early ps1 days, except more modernized, with like a cross between age of empires. I gotta say that game looks like a lot of fun. by the way, you did an awesome job on the remix Joe. now dont you think monopoly would be a little bit more fun if they made it something like this? i mean it would be funny as all getup if they had the battleship blow the heck out of an enemy hotel or some crud like that. anyway im getting carried away.

Look good for a XBLA game… but it’s a strategie game… on consolle, i just can’t play thouse strategie game belongs on PC no where else

I feel the same way. Then again, some strategy games have proven to be good on consoles. The big example at this time would be the Halo game that came before ODST but after Halo 3 (yeah, I forgot the title). That game has proven to be pretty good and it’s a console game.

I believe its actually a new type. Its got a bit of Tower Defense, but it also seems as if you can take control of some of the units.

The game looks REALLY fun. Any game that strays from the normal “SPACE MARINES WORLD WAR TWO GOOOOORE” deserves at least a look. Besides, who doesn’t like toys? It’s also got a great art style, very original. Kind of like if someone had worked on Battalion Wars for more than five minutes.
Got to say though Joe, that metal was just awful.

I don’t actually own a 360, so I won’t be able to give it a try myself, but the game does have interesting. From the trailer, it looks like the game could take on a FPS, or RTS. But if you could actually do both, that would be outright amazing. Don’t think I’ve ever seen another game like that before. And I have to agree that having the trailer Joehanced did help out a lot. A lot better than the poor music that was already there.

Oh, TOR is actually accepting applications for the beta on their page right now. The problem is that due to so many signing up at once, it’s a little messed up right now. http://www.swtor.com/ Hopefully, that issue will be fixed soon though.
