Army of Two the 40th Day Review
The Short Version: Army of Two: The 40th Day is a Massive Improvement over the Original Army of Two game. This is how a sequel should be done from a technical standpoint. Unfortunately, the title is held back by its short length, unfulfilling story and seriously disappointing ending.

• Excellent Graphics that generate Action-Packed Cinematic Cutscenes
• Welcome Additions like Mock Surrenders, Morality Choices, and Mask & Armor Customization
• An Amazing and Deep Weapons Customization System
• Improved Partner and Enemy A.I. Removed most all of the problems I had in the Original.
What you’ll Hate:
• The Length is Short at around 6-7 Hours, slightly more with Pointless Hidden Items.
• Wheres the Story Here? It doesnt match the Popcorn Flick Feel of the Rest of the Game. Forgettable Cliche Villain.
• Extremely Luck-luster Ending, that Pissed Me off. (Not because of the Choice it forces but because of the Anti-Climax)

I think that a game’s ending plays a major role in the games worth, but it shouldn’t make up most of a games score. For example, ME3′s ending got terrible reviews but I thought the rest of the game was fantastic. It might stop you from replaying it but I think that at least the first time through it isn’t a big factor.
I actually prefered the first game; for all it’s flaws, it also had some cool stuff. This game felt like it had more of the gimmicks, and I literally asked my friend on like the last level when the game was “really” going to start because it still felt like we hadn’t really gotten to any meat. I liked the ideas in the series, but this game felt like it had too much “stuff” and not enough game.

I played both of them and finished them both with my son who LOVED the games just like me. indeed the ending and enemie boss was a bit dull but isnt a Arnold Schwarzenegger type of endboss a bit cliché too? me and my son are just freakin looking forward to ARMY OF FOOOOOOURRRRRRR!!!!

I rented this from gamefly and beat it……good Lord he ain’t kidding about the ending, i will say this, it does have a moral choice for it, but the choice doesn’t mean crap! its a horrible ending!

collectable items are strange but you get achievements for this and they are addictive as hell wich makes this game all the more fun to play again
