Will It Suck? Star Trek Online (Preview Series)

Joe Asks the Tough Questions about the Upcoming Mega Title Star Trek Online! While Admiral Joe Returns to Battle his most powerful Opponent Yet, KHAAAANNNN!
Things That Might Suck:
• Star ship Damage Modeling.
• Diplomatic & Abstract Mission Balance. (How many versus combat-centric missions?)
• Are the Klingon’s Neglected? Advance through level through PvP. No Episodic Mission Story Content.
Things That Might Kick Ass:
• The Genesis System. Procedurally Generates Planets & Systems on the Fly – Save the locations you find and share with friends.
• Dual Gameplay. (Unlike its main likely competitor, Star Wars The Old Republic, STO has both Space Combat & Ground Combat)
• Its STAR TREK!
Hype Level:
10/10

Great details. I am currently working from home but not the kind of work that you do. I am slowly starting to build some form of online business so I can have multiple streams of income. I will be persistent as it really takes that to be successful online.

What Red said about saying what has already been said…
Honestly, it’s not entirely bad. It just needs to get better is all. I paid for a pre-order so it better… ><. I just wish I was signed up for closed beta and I could have decided earlier on…

Hey all! You leave FAR to many comments for me to be bothered to read so i’m not sure if what i’m about to say hasn’t already been said or if it’s even relevant anymore……. BUT here i go anyway.
From what i understand of STO it seems that the Federation is what will take up most of the time for the players, doing mission, exploring etc etc. And as a reward for their efforts they “unlock” the Klingon’s as a PvP faction who’s job it is just to go out there and mess with the Federation.
I felt this was unfair. The Federation can have ANY race join their ranks and sign up to star fleet, and with the character design function you can pretty much just make up an alien to play. For the Klingon’s though, you only get to play as a Klingon. Not fair in my mind.
Now as much as i hate to admit it, World of Warcraft is possibly the most successful MMORPG of all time… POSSIBLY…. and one of the ways they achieved this is 2 main factions engaged in PvP and normal missions. It would be nice for STO to take this idea and run with it, make the Klingon’s availiable from the start and give them their own missions and storys etc etc…… but then you’ve one faction who can design their own Alien to play as and another that can’t…… The best way to get around that problem? Borg!
See the way i see it, STO shouldn’t change the Kligon’s, keep them as they are but introduce the Borg as a seperate faction with all their own missions to do BUT will fight the federation for space every step of the way. World of Warcraft does it and thats a very popular game. And being that the Borg assimilate (did i spell that right?) any and all alien culture into their collective it would be easy to let them have their own create-a-alien engine…. just you know, with roboty bits sticking out
Think about it x x x
