The Short Version: The New Aliens vs Predator stays true to the series, so closely in fact that it seems not much has changed since the original in 1999. Despite Rebellion not taking any risks or offering anything radically new, what we end up with is a fun single-player ride and an strongly unique multiplayer component in spite of its dated game design mechanics.

I got an idea for an interesting MP game mode for the sequal. It’s called “Get To The Choppa” in which Marines have to get from one part of the map to where the ship is, but they’re being hunted by a Predator. The Marine players only have one life (or maybe three). For 8 player there would be 7 Marines and 1 Predator, 16 players would be 12 Marines and 4 Predators.
Things that should’ve have been in the game
-A Taunt button for the Predator and Marine (Aliens have the hiss)
- Marines should have a combat knife to sneak up on Predators and and jump on em’ and stab them in the neck (I dunno about aliens)Would act as a stealth kill
-When someone is performing a stealth kill, another person cant stealth kill the person who is performing a stealth kill (to prevent stealth kill lines)
-Ability to customize skins (add tattoos for marines, and trophy for predators, change the body type for aliens)
-Ability to unlock stealth and trophy kills and then select what you want your stealth/trophy kill to be instead just have a random one every time.
-Different primary weapons for Predators. Like before a match you select what you want your primary weapon to be. Ex: Instead of Having wrist blades as primary, maybe a combi stick. Or even some kind of a sword made by predators, or an axe, or even dual machetes. Just sayin’, i think the predator needs some new gear.
-If an Alien gets 10 consecutive kills, they can turn into a queen like from AVP2
-If a predator gets 10 kills, they can go into some sort of “rage mode” where they take off their mask and are able to jump farther, move faster, and just go all out rambo.
-Classes for marines (these should be game mode specific) An engineer class where marines can setup turrets (this would make domination a bit more fun) And Heavy class where you have a smart gun, also a assault and sniper maybe.
-Trophy kills for marines. When A marine blocks and counters an alien, and the alien is lying on the ground about to get up, they marine should have an option to like step up on the aliens head and curb stomp it or beat it to death with its pulse rifle. Acid blood would probably disintegrate a marines foot, but you get the picture.
-Predator can only pick up two weapons
-Predator Heavy Attack should take less time to charge up, but have a short range.(Like the enemy has to be directly in front of you)
-Alien heavy Attack should take longer to charge up, but have a longer range cause it would make sense because the aliens tail is long.
-Objective Maps for each species. This would sorta be like a coop map but it would need 8 players for marines maybe aliens, but only 2 for predator. Basically, Each map has any objective that quires to escape the refinery or locate the queen etc. Each would should be some what long to, and not just be like “Hold out for 5 minutes and wait for the door to open.” I mean like ‘Locate Central Control Room” Hack Computer” Locate key to the sewers, Escape through Sewers etc.

Imagine this scenario:
A marine is walking around by himself and 5 predators and looking down on him and all the predators start spamming taunts so all the marine hears is: “Want some candy? Over here… want some candy? over here..” That would drive me insane.

Ideas for the next AVP game by rebellion. Maybe have challenges for the weapons, say “get a 5 kill streak with this weapon to unlock upgraded bullets that can inflect more damage.” Or where you can choose what weapons you start out with, like maybe a Pulse Rifle with a scope attachment and your secondary can be any other weapon with any other attachment you want on it. And the more you rank up the more attachments you can get for your character. Like new masks, Armor, skin color, hair dues, new skins, etc. And maybe special ability’s you can get by ranking up for the Alien/Predator. Like an ability where an alien doesn’t show up on the Alien Vision. Or a farther lunge/jump. Faster heavy attacks, MORE BRUTAL STEALTH/TROPHY KILLS, etc. Oh and probably make the damn Predator not so OP. I feel he’s indestructible when I fight him and play him. And lastly, give the marine’s iron sights……PLEASE!
Multi-Player Matching system is completely broken, often splitting into uneven teams with crappy hosts and little control over game types. Why the fuck can’t I search for Death Match, Mixed Death Match, and Species Death Match without only selecting one or all?
Alien has less control over camera and wall crawling than in AvP 1&2, autotransitions and gets stuck on walls and ledges with auto-transition turned off, can’t run off ledges like Marines and Preds instead tries to scale down them, Alien Spazz Hops instead of jumping if there’s nothing in focus.
Pred has a spastic focus targeting sometimes, focused jumping sometimes won’t pick up on surfaces. Flamethrower is too weak, no iron sights, oh and no crouch.
Maps seem a huge step backwards from AvP 1 maps. Anyone ever played the Alien Observatory map? If so you know what I mean. About the only maps that actually seem like AvP maps are the Refinery and the Pyramid, maybe the Jungle but it really sucks. Meh.
Aside from ironsights you hardly mention any of this! It makes me wonder if you even spent an hour playing Multiplayer. This game is an insult to the fans of the 1999 AvP, and no that’s not fucking nostalgia.

Just iron sights and some more guns for the marines but mostly the iron sights. Then i will be pleased.
I would first like to say Joe that you are a recent favorite of mine and you don’t disappoint. I would like to say they could use an upgrade system like a skill tree that would upgrade your weapon skills, vitality, stamina, strength, and other stuff of that nature. At least include perks that go to the skins. Then we need to make an alien hunt where you are a predator hunting the most dangerous prey aliens. A preferred execution system where you can choose your favorite e executions from the quick and decisive to the elaborate and violent. I was really looking forward to an Arnold skin like how they included the net head skin. A better stealth system for the predators would be nice because i remember that you couldn’t see the predators. Also i want those hanging noose weapons for stealth kills from above. remove the outlines of stealth predators.

it is a kick ass game i love the sreis of all but the xp sucks and i what to cost a maz they should have a online thing that you get like 9-15 kills you be come a queen or for humens a gaint muchine like in aliens 2 with guns rockets and other staff and for predator new wepons or difert ways to use them also for aliens compan start with facehuger then find a host then evole soon queen
I think playing it safe and staying true to the original was a good move from Rebellion. There is not a strong mainstream following for AVP. In fact if you ask people if they had played it they often reply with “oh Ive seen both the movies they were great” Which I generally reply with you must have watched another movie and thought it was AVP! or been high at the time. Because really the only good thing to come out of the 2 terribad movies is the Pyramid map.
The fact is this game is exactly what an entire group of fanbois (ie their playerbase, that includes myself) had been waiting for, the same good gameplay on a new graphics engine with much more immersion and atmosphere. The game is a horror FPS and the multiplayer exceeds in thrilling and exciting the player with yells of pain and suffering and satisfying blood and gore effects. I’ll add excellent controls. The game feels ( I stray away from the term realistic as to not get forum bashed by retards) I shall go with “Authentic” its authentic to the world created by Rebellion in the 1st place and continues their original work rather than shame it, (ruining the original content with a bad sequel is often done in the gaming industry.)
If they had gone all out on changing from the original formula, the game would have been a huge commercial failure. You can’t make a game like this and ignore the wants and needs of the player base it already has to cater for the mainstream. The mainstream morons will always have something to complain about. Because its not like their precious modern warfare 2 or because they absolutely fail and want a button that instantly kills people with no skill required.
Rebellions mistake on this was probably just not enough content, not enough maps or skins. Some of the other problems with the game come completely from new trends in the Gaming Industry. Games are being ported to consoles and PC at the same time resulting in terrible terrible things.
either way, Rebellion have a good base for an Expansion or a DLC pack just pray they don’t pull a Left for Dead 2 on us LOL!
BTW for all of the people complaining about the graphics and the lag, You really can’t blame the game for that. those are the limitations of your console. If you want the true AVP3 experience Build a Custom gaming rig and play it on PC.The game with Direct X 11 enabled on PC looks stunning and the New Beta Dedicated Servers Rebellion promised have been delivered.
I’ll add the game could benefit greatly from a Capture the Flag mode and a good recycle of some of the old maps from AvP1 and avp2. Yes CTF is plausible for AVP just make it into a rare alien face hugger that the humans and the predators want to study and the aliens just want back. Besides we have Mixed Species Death Match already as if that makes sense.
i loved alien vs preadator 2 and i think it was one of the best avp games ever i lost the game but now avp3 gives me something to look forward to. 7/10

Also the Marine beginning, why are they flying away from the Marlow and the planet? Where are they going? This is poorly dont just like the rest of the intro, not that there is much more after the clip you gave, just fragments you cant really amke out and some gunfire/aliens screaming, just a cheap way to get the player to the “all alone and cut off” scenario.
I am sure if a marine was just laying there on a bed a facehugger would have gotten to them.

I agree with alot of the things your saying but one thing that would be cool would be to both a tied and untied campaigns, or have campaigns that start off completly different but come togather at the end for an amazing climax. I don’t know if this exists already or not, but what about an online game mode where one alien, one predator, and one colonial marine make up a team and four teams, or more, totalling twelve to eighteen players, compete in a dethmatch style fight, trying to get the most kills first?
There also should exist (once again, if it doesn’t already) an alien nest mode, where the alien players’ goals are to defend the queen and eggs, and the marines’ and predators’ goals are to rack up the most points from egg kills, and the queen kill giving bonus points. I don’t know how the aliens could score points comparitively, perhaps totalling up their total marine and predator kills before the queen is killed.
Once again, I hope these ideas are good, get to the right people, and are good enough for the standard set by The Angry Joe Show.

“right of passage” basically predator hunt with aliens instead of marines. ummm…….a better way for the marines to see the predators while stealthed (just a little). if the really want to be epic… then how bout they make the next one a four disk game, one disk for each campaign, and one more for multiplayer (game developers need to stop being so stengy with their money, THEY HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY TO DO THIS IDEA!!!!!). and joe, i also like your idea where the stories do not match up, especially for the aliens. oh yeah, tell them to GIVE THE PREDATORS SOME NEW TOYS!!!!! seriously, am i the only one that finds it funny that the predators are suppose to be the advanced race yet their technology hasn’t changed in, what? 200? 300 years??(the movie and game timelines). also, i think that the alien should have trophy kills from walls and ceilings. another thing is that if a marine falls off something, his health should not be effected to much (this is really frustrating in multiplayer). another trophy kill for predator on predator could be you rip the other predators spine and skull out. in multiplayer, have it where if the host leaves, the game finds a new host and also have it where people can join a game if it has already started (it is annoying when the game starts with 12 people and then ends with two). and (for now) last but not least, give the marines a descent flashlight
i am seriously getting pissed that every time that i get into a mulyiplayer match with a good amount of people in it, the f*cking host leaves or gets DCed and the game lobby closes and the next 10 matches have 3-6 people in it >:(
If you every played the strategy version ov AvP on the PS2 then you know of the campain of eradicating the
K-series aleins made by human scientists, well beacuse the would have backups of thier findings on a different planet then they would eventualy learn how to make them. also in the RTS version there are a large amount of aliens that could be put in, like the ravenger (hands are replaced by claws) and the carrier ( has large spines that facehuggers hold on to and jump at prey from ).
Speaking of Aliens that colonial marines you’ve been talking about is slated for a summer or winter release.

Alien
How about a range attack? This is what I was thinking. The alien could spit acid at the enemy and stunning him/her, get up close and go for the kill. The acid wouldn’t kill the enemy, it only damage him/her slightly and stunning them. And shooting the acid out as the alien, it will require some of the alien’s health. So as the alien, think before you shoot.
Predator
Last time when I said the “weapon selection circle”, I mean it like, when you play Mass Effect 2, you have to hold the LB or RB for that selection thing to pop out. The weapon selection circle is that. And if that can’t be done, then make some weapon for the diagonal areas, so the total of weapons will still not be as much as before, but you still get a total of 8 different weapons, more than 4 that’s for sure. And how about more vision modes like, you know, a “Tech-mode”. How about mode that let’s you see what type of alien that is? How about a mode that let’s you see the peoples lights (reference to Predator 2, and also this could be challenging for the player if the AIs is trying to kill the predator by being camouflage to the Predator’s Thermo-vision). Or even a vision mode to see a weak spot of a tree or something, shoot at it using the “shoulder connon”, and the tree falls on the enemies. If that’s too much, then how about if you hold down the “O” button or for 360 the “B” button, it sort of pause for you to select a vision mode in a “vision selection circle”.
Marine
I miss the dual hand guns. What happen to them? And since you’re wearing an armor, why do you get so easily injured from gun shots?
And now for the role of each race.
The Alien could start of as a ancient Rogue Facehugger which later becomes the Rogue Alien. The Rogue Alien that is even stronger than a Predalien and faster than a normal alien, but for some reason the other Aliens would try to kill the Alien that the player is controlling (possibly because some sort of backstory the Alien had with this once populated race of “Rogue Alien”).
This Predator the player is controlling is a Predator that once fought and nearly died, but survived against a Rogue Alien. It came to the planet to hunt some Marine, only later to find out that there is also a Rogue Alien killing the human as well. Then the Predator set it’s goal to hunt down this Rogue Alien.
The Marine role is some guy who finish a “Bug-Hunt” a few days ago, and lost alot of his friends. Then all of the sudden, there’s an ambush of the Rogue Alien. The Marine needs to survive the attack of the Aliens, the Rogue Alien, and later on the Predator attack as well.
I’ve come back and I’ve brought more, and hopefully even better, ideas.
For the campaign, I’d like to bring a new element in, one that would hopefully make things more balanced among the three species, as I’ve heard complaints about it being to easy to win as the predators online. I’d like to bring in the unknown species from the origingal Alien movie, the one that had crash landed on LV 426.
The story revolves around a ship piloted by this unknown species, which, here, for the sake of easy reading, will be referred to as, I don’t know, Zorbians, which is under attack by a ship controlled by the predator species.
Zorbians (damn, I wish I could think up better names for new alien species): Your ship is under fire from a much more powerful ship piloted by a war-like species, a species that takes no prisoners. It takes intense fire and, in desperation, you land on an unknown planet. This planet just happens to be the homeworld of the xenomorph species. You control the squad leader of a group of warriors. Your mission is to a: keep safe your alien equivalent of the pope by b: boarding the predator’s warship and c: stealing an escape pod. This is easier said than done as miles of the xenomorph homeworld and hundreds of predator elites stand in your way.
Predator: You are also the commander of a squad of three predator elites. While pursuing a craft piloted by an ancient enemy that has fled from a battle, they take emergency action, and land on the homeworld of an enemy more ancient, that of the xenomorph. You now must fight your way through miles of this land in order to take back what the zorbians stole: an ancient religious relic, sacred to all of your species.
Xenomorph: You take control of a young queen, who is now only slightly larger than her breathern. Fed by commands from the queen inside the nest, you must sneak aboard the predator’s craft and secretly place harvest all those that are asleep. You must do it with stealth and with haste, for if you are detected, the infected shall be executed, and if you are not quick the early implantees will begin to deliver before the ship takes off, and then rules of quarantine will be observed. Afterwards, your goal is to completely infect the ship before arriving on the predator homeworld.
Marines (I bet you thought I forgot about them): You are a marine that has been captured by the predators. You have been stuck in their ship for days when, during a firefight, something hits your sector of the ship, makes the circuitry go haywire, and you are released from your prison. Your first goal is to sneak around the ship without being noticed and grab your weapons from a holding room. Your next goal is to escape the ship and attemppt to contact help however possible.
Androids (Yeah, five campaigns in one game would be a difficult task, but pulling it off would well would be an extraordinary feat. Besides, the androids play very similiar to the marines, so it wouldn’t require too much extra programming, just more story): You’re a rogue android that once controlled by Weyland. You have just arrived on the xenomorph homeworld, with weyland and your fellow androids, who still do not know of your sentience, and you notice extraordinary activity on the planet’s surface. Then there’s suddenly a marine s.o.s. Ditching your fellow androids during a hectic firefight with the denizens of the planet, which happen to be a number of creatures along with the xenomorphs, you go to save the marines, bring them back to Weyland’s ship, and fly it back, alien free, and Weyland free.
So there are the campaigns. But what about other issues with Aliens vs. Predator?
New Alien types: The setting of the xenomorph homeworld will give you plenty of new enemies in the form of its native creatures, however, along with this new species will be new xenomorph types. Since the xenomorph takes on the appearance, and to some extent, the abilities of its host, their will be a new xenomorph species for every new homeworld species introduced. End of that problem.
Unbalanced Predators: Now that the Zorbians have been introduced, new weapnry can be introduced as well. The Zorbians weaponry can cut through the armor of Predators, and other Zorbians faster, however it runs into issues with when hitting less metallic and more organic material such as the cevlar (hope I spelled that right) vests worn by marines and the skin of the xenomorph species. The marine’s rounds are more effective against marines and xenomorphs. Weapons have no advantage or disadvantage against androids. These new weapons should give Predator players something extra to fear.
Taped weapons: In addition to the new Zorbian weapons, taping weapons together will introduce a new level of customizability to the game. Know you always have trouble with Predators? Take two zorbian weapons. Know you have a lot of trouble close-quarters? Take a flame-thrower AND a shotgun. Certain weapons, of course, can’t be taped, like the smart-gun, and the sniper rifle, due to their bulkiness and sight systems, but their positive strengths will make up for this.
I really hope I contributed something with this rather lengthy post and that it goes somewhere and finds someone who can do good with these ideas. Thanks for reading all this.
I forgot to mention that these stories, unlike the first stories, could go either way. They could all be tied together into one overarching story, or they could begin all on the same page and diverge from there. I really hope these ideas go somewhere, it’d be so cool if they actually got used.

I joe. I just figured i’d give my two cents. Chances are that nobody will actually listen to me, but this is my idea.
There are only two alien-based maps so far. (i include pyramid.) I personally think that there should be air vents for the aliens in multiplayer. Take the map jungle for example. What can an alien do on that map? Nothing, basically. He can run around on the floor or in the trees. But frankly, something jet black dosn’t do a very good job blending in with a lush green environment. If aliens had air vents, thiswould not be a problem. They could really act like an alien, lurking around the ventilation shafts, pouncing out from some hole in the wall that you had overlooked, etc. I also think maybe the marines or predator’s could interact with them. marines would probubly weld them shut, or something. And predator’s i can see tossing a land mine or something of that mannor right in the hole. Wheres the alien that walks thriough that hole, or past it, would then be blown to smithereen. Or if the marines welded it shut, they would have to bang it open first like the AI aliens do in the marine campain.
That was my two cents. I just hope that someone takes it under consideration. Have a nice day.
I can’t believe you forgot to mention the side scrolling beat ‘em up AvP game, Joe! That had a lot of made up (and color swapped, admittedly) alternate Xeno types. Unless you didn’t forget and just wasn’t a fan of that game, which is unfortunate.
Ideas to make the next game better:
Kennerize it! Scorpion, Gorilla, Bull, Rhino, Killer Crab, Mantis, Night Cougar, Panther, Queen Face Hugger, Snake, Arachnid, Wild Boar, King, Flying Queen and Swarm Aliens. Those were some badass toys. At least the aliens were. Wasn’t a fan of the Maries. Most of them didn’t fit in the vehicles. Which brings me to my second, related idea.
Vehicles for the Maries. Using that term loosely. Atax Armor and Power Loader come to mind right away.
The main point is, that you are right in that there is so much material they could have used to expand the scope of the game and they dropped several balls in that regard, even if the game itself is still fun.

2 Key Suggestions for Rebellion
1: In survivor: if one teammate makes it through the wave then everyone spawns back in
-the survivor will rack up more points for himself by getting more kills, he gets his friends back, and the host doesn’t quit ending the game when he/she dies. Also there is more hope and pressure and fun in watching your alive buddy pull for you when your dead and trying to get your teammates back if your alive.
2: In infestation: if you get 2 kills without dying as an alien you come back as a marine.
-encourages aliens to kill marines, encourages aliens to not just kamikaze “E” (insta stealth or trophy) kill (more realistic alien tactics), makes the game last longer, gives hope to aliens.
I admit the graphics and animations for some of the characters (example the facial expressions of the marines and combat androids) Are in need of improvement, even a mild one will suffice.
Ideas to make the game better in the next title:
-Dog’s, where are they? Thing’s would of been a bit trickier for the Alien, if they had the odd Attack or Sentry dog in the small groups of Marines you fought. This also would make another thing to attack or be attacked by…or harvest. >:D
-I was hoping to see a few underwater fights, add that in there at some point will you?
-Again Back to the reference of animals, there should be a batch of foreign or Familiar wildlife that have been harvested. (Dogs,cats,Rhinos ect; ect) Therfore making a weird and wonderful (for whom depends on who is the Xenomorph) breed of Xenomorph.
-Improve the ability to hide in small places as Marine or Alien
-Ditch the Flame Thrower I find it garbage.
-Maybe have a machete or a military issued saber or something for the marines instead of worrying about riffle butting at the right time.
-Have a bit more random npc dialogue, maybe even a character select for the Npc’s in your battalion.
-CO-OP ONLINE/OFFLINE SPLIT SCREEN PLEASE**

nice review but i think you should go and play mp again as its falling on its face. its only been like a week and the game is dying on the pc. it really need dedicated servers dude to extreme pings. the game modes need to be sorted out and the dam lobby system sucks.
Rebellion have turned out to be a medioka developer producing a poor multi player game due to the retarded restrictions and lack of dedicated servers which are NONE AT ALL.

I think a human colony world would be awesome where one could see aliens dragging away people or livestock or even like giant spider things native to the planet back to their hive and seeing the resulting aliens later on in the game.

First of all, remember in Aliens when Ripley taped up some guns together to create an all new gun? You should be able to do that in this games, tape your favorite guns together to create something new. It’d make up for, and explain, the lack of iron sights, and add innovation and customization to the game. Now here are my campaign ideas:
Marine: You are an ex-marine, released from duty for disobeying dorect orders in a combat situation. With very little money and a bad reputation you sought new oppurtunities on an off-world colony. However, after your taxi crash lands on the surface, the colony has been over-run with an alien species, you are unsure if anyone else survived. Your goal is to, with a limited weapons load-out, and danger all around you, survive until help arrives. However, after surviving for a day or so, things take a twist. A new alien species, with advanced technology, arrives and makes attempts to capture you. Now, rather than staying in a stronghold, you are forced to constantly move around all the while avoiding capture, surviving your alien encounters, and finally getting to the drop-zone once help arrives.
Predator: After planting facehuggers on a taxi going to an offworld colony, in order to create a new hunting ground in a new environment, you learn that one of those infected with a facehugger was somehow immune to the parisite, and never “gave birth.” Interested in how he managed to survive infection, you now must find this man and take him, alive, back to your ship. Unfortunately, before you can get to him, he is captured and brought directly to the queen’s chamber, deep in a natural cave formation. Your goal: Bring him back out.
Alien: You begin your birth cycle in a crash landed taxi. As a newborn queen, you most stealthily avoid detection and choose an adequate location for your new nest. After that it is your job to make sure nothing escapes off of the planet, at least without being infected first. (Different chapters of the alien campaign will have you playing as different types of aliens, but you will often come back to playing as the queen.) You have to sabotage attempts to leave the planet, attempts to communicate with the outside world, and attempts for survivors of the initial infection to recconect. You must defend strategic locations on the colony, such as sattelite relays, and weapons bunkers; your survival as a species depends upon it.
It is worth note that while this campaigns all begin in the same situation, they will all slowly diverge from each other as you play through them. For example, playing as a marine you would not get capture and brought to the queen’s chamber, however playing as a predator that would be a crucial part of the story.

i on the contrary found the soundtrack to be skechy and it even fails in multiplayer
a well as the hit/damage detection witch is quite random
i on the other hand would of prefered a realy tied in game
witch is not here, it just seams to be happening on the same plannet
yeah infestation is cool….. a face hugger start would have been nice tho
but predator hunt is borring beyond any thing
why win XP in ranked maches witha stupid random server system (worst than modern warfare2) when there is no load out, ability or any thing worth while to gain
why can’t the alien spit in multyplayer
==>to add in the future they know about the predators and the aliens, so logicaly they should take proper action
in the infestation multyplayer mode give the marines the time and possibility to set up
a camp and the lights

I know little about AvP but from what I can tell it’s awesome.
So suggestions… A fire alien would be kinna cool, like it can spit magma balls, dive in lava and stuff like that. Maybe a shield for the marines, like those police shields. For the predator some kind of plazma gloves and boots that allows him to walk on walls like the aliens, only much slower obviously.
A stealth mode for multiplayer, like the maps for it to be dark and the goal is to kill your enemies without them noticing you and every time you manage to do that you get a point and… well you get the rest, get enought points to win and well… win.
I’m not sure if those are good suggestions, I mean I have little to no idea about what’s what in AvP and I don’t know what will work or not. But if you ask me they sound cool.
Awesome review and I have to agree with you on a lot of points, especially the fact that there’s no Arnold skin.
Also, kudos on featuring my cousin Tim’s band Austrian Death Machine in your video, they kick ass.

On the ready lines marines! even if the game was lacking it was great to finally get to hold a pulse rifle on the 360 i fully agree with your review and just wanted to share some ideas.
As for maps i would like the sulacco to be one or maybe to tie into the story of the game more the marlow as a map, being on the ship of the colonial marines would be great . also a game update is needed for the minor lagging and the 12 player 2 map issue, and please i think the flame thrower should be more effective its just too weak to even make the effort to get it durring a multiplayer match!
but any way sick review and hopefully we will see more on the horizon for Aliens: Colonial marines

Great review. I agree with you that the multiplayer is the game’s strong point and that its one for fans however and didn’t really notice anything too bad about the visuals and not being able to aim gave the game a retro feel and to be honest I don’t think it was that important as aliens come at you from all angles so when their write up in your face it seems zoom is pretty useless. Customisation of characters is a good idea as only earning skins for gaining xp in multiplayer isn’t that great a reward. Since there is a downloadable content option on the main menu I’m hoping for some new maps and (if rebellion finds the balls to actually experiment) some new weapons and abilities for each species (but no weapons for aliens obviously)
Can’t wait for Aliens Colonial marines USCM all the way!

Second: Hope you get to play God of war 3.
Third: I have some suggestions. on some maps, you could set a number for computercontrolled aliens that constantly spawn when killed and if someone is an alien they could hide in the wall and the player could jump to a new alien in another place on the map. Maybe make the alien 3rd person perspective and the other species 1st person.
In 3rd person its easier to see where you are and if you are hidden enough.
Customisation of amor AND weapons!! For marine and predator.
Voices on microfon have range, like if your too far away from people you can’t hear them. Would be a little scary not to know where everyone is. hehe

i liked this review but man the marine story rocked but i didnt like the last five minitues I felt like i was in the game i was the rookie but during the cutscene before the final boss it shifted from first to third person showing who the rookie was and who i had been playing as the whole game now i dont wanna sound racist im not but really i just wish the rookie would have either had a helmet…thing or better yet that the camera would have never been taken out of first person mode sorta ties into the feeling that your the survivor the badass the top of the foodchain that aliens and predators are your bitch and your not all carved up and burised oh and i loved tequila too i hope that if there is a sequal she lives hell make her playable too for the chicks

Well, i would welcome even longer single player campaigns, like you said, untied from each other.
For the Xenomorphs i think – what if a Facehugger accidently plants an Android? Could go two ways: either the Alien comes out all bad-ass with cybernetic enhancements, able to hack into computer systems and stuff, or it could be like totally crippled because it was not carried by an organic host that lacks nutritients.
The Alien Campaign is lacking, i played it at my brother’s place, and was all the way through in two sittings. As one of my fellow commenters said: “just got used to the movement and over”.
For the Predator’s – how about a “Ninja Mode” where you have to go undetected and kill everything that moves – i use to love such levels in other games, where you have to be very careful and methodical. (Could be in this game already, i just went through the Alien campaign, then my brother returned it) would be a little unfair against the Predator, but they can turn invisible – which is a huge advantage.

Maybe have the game take place on a full planet, with each party trying to control it. The Xenomorphs could even have a few new forms like flying or, hell, maybe even the ability to speak.
Heh, or throw in some Graboids from Tremors.
Class selection before beginning the game as one of the creatures or human. How about this for an idea?
joe if you can talk to the developers please tell them to make more skins for the dlcs like andriod for a marine skin make marine detonates a bomb in alien hive or predator has to blow up marine base???
Well my main problem with the game is WAH!!! almost lack’s the alien campaign. I’m a big fan of alien films so when i saw how short it was i couldn’t believe it. I want a bigger campaign! I just got familiarized whit the movement and control and then just over. I don’t know what rebellion wanted whit this but hell i was disappointed.
And woah!! there are places where climbing on the wall and it just can’t go forward cause a cable is on my way hello!!! climb throw it. Or there are many places where i can’t climb or jump, like in the jungle the tree’s have i don’t know energy shield cause i can’t climb on the top of it.
i think in avp2 it was way better alien control(climbing whenever and wherever u wanted).
Whit marine i don’t have to much problem’s maybe some basic’s like crouch , better aiming , a nightvision cause flair’s are almost useless , grenades(pheromone that disables the aliens smell,flashbang that blinds predator’s vision) , and a variety of weapons(new alien technology in the hands of humans)
The variations of ideas are unlimited rebellion don’t get stuck down by the film’s be creative!
More alien species like runner’s(harvest dog’s) getting ambushed by spider like aliens(evolve form facehugger without a host) don’t stick on the usual alien evolution.
What it whit feeding on enemy’s increase your evolution point’s and in the hive u can evolve simply by hiding in the wall and became one whit it , there u can access in upgrade option for longer tail increase your stamina for longer sprints, harden your skin for resistance and when its done u just burst out from the wall like a reincarnation.
Why is no map? imagine a predator’s holographic map, or in alien mode u can hide in the wall and feel whenever something step in to the area, marine’s surveillance cameras where u can watch the enemy’s movement(and aliens and predators can destroy it so u can fear where will they come) putting down sentinels in strategic points(survivor mode)
The predators could have a total different campaign searching the galaxy for trophy’s destroying hives scanning the planet for alien lifeforms, fighting an epic battle between aliens and predators(gear up from other predators as a gift of honor) , and then in a planet u find yourself in a fight for your life whit aliens and marines.
These two species is a top 1 badass in all horror movie so make me feel like i’m whit the legendary facehugging-chestbursting-creepy alien or the powerful stealth hunter who collects its enemy’s skull for a trophy.

Hello Joe, here is some ideas that can be relayed.
As you said More Maps.
More cooperative game modes, we live in a time now were you want to game with friends. and cooperative modes is the best way to do this. I like your idea of an extraction mode. Also how a Hive Raid, were a group of Marines are sent in to wipe out an Alien Hive on aa abandoned space craft or station.
I agree with the customization more could be done.
Alien campaign, even though I love the Aliens, you are right definitely could of been a lot better. It was short and sort of redundant.
