Wow! Deus Ex 3′s Trailer makes me care!
Wow. You NEED to see this debut trailer of the long awaited third installment of the excellent series, Deus Ex. Its titled Deus Ex: Human Revolution and its coming to us this time from Square Enix.
Now I know its only CGI, and I should reserve judgment until we see actual gameplay but wow! If they stay true to the previous games in the series, this one has shot WAY UP on my Top 10 Lists of Most Wanted Games! This whole trailer was amazingly done – great CGI, great setup, and great music – It makes me feel “blade runner” and that’s a good thing!
For those that don’t know Dues Ex was one of the better games of its time – despite being relatively ignored by the average gamer. It earned with numerous Game of the Year awards, offered players an intriguing story, and paved the way for games like Crysis with Augmentations, Cloak, super strength, and seeing through walls. It was a unique blend of FPS with some fun RPG elements, you could customize your weapons, increase your skills, and pretty much talk to any NPC you saw in the world – and each would have something unique and different to say.
What did you guys think of the trailer? Sounds like something you could get into? Did you play the previous Deus Ex’s? And how might Square Enix change the series? Sound off soldiers!

wheres the movie! that trailer was a A grade Hollywood film trailer. If they can make a movie about Deus ex and not make it suck that would be awesome.
Cant wait for the game I’m a huge fan of Invisible war.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d mistake this for Metal Gear Solid 5. And I mean that in a good way.
It’s like MGS, without the stupid.
Also has an Amiga LIBERATION (Captive2) feel to it.

One word- WOW! If the game will be like this perfect made trailer…. cant imagine it..
I had the games, this and SYSTEM SHOCK 2 was (and are) my all time top favourites- hope a new system shock will be alive at time…..
Is it just me? Or does the main guy look like Zoolander?
So… who else wants super-duper-twisty-neck-snappy-wrists? Fuck ethics, we can debate how stupid God was for not putting a machine gun in my arm later, as for right now, sign me the HELL up for Robotic Augmentation!
Glad you agree with me joe, this game looks tight.
Never played the original Deus ex games, but this one looks badass. Interesting tying in the renaissance and Icarus.
Well that was a really interesting trailer indeed. As a pc gamer i played the 2 first Deus Ex and i agree that they were really awesome games. Great story, great gameplay, a game that had really nice graphics at the time, lots of stuff that you could customise, great system of augmentations that were all fun to use, hell even just walking on streets to see what the NPCs would tell you was fun !
So yep, happy to see Square Enix doing the cgi as they’re really cool and i’m really waiting for this little baby to come up so that i can finally test on my pc. ^^
Deus Ex was the greatest game of all time I’d say and I first played this game back in 2007. I could soil my pants over this sequel if I wasn’t already so disappointed over Invincible War. It looks like the main protagonist this time have Mech-augmentation in contrast to the Bio-augmentation that JC Denton had in Deus Ex.
Remember. I played this game 3 years ago and I’m still impressed. I have a game library of over 200 games on different consoles including FF7, DAO, Mass Effect, Baldur’s Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Total Annihilation, Call of Duty and I still think that Deus Ex is better than ALL of these.
If they manage to make a better game than the original Deus Ex I’ll buy TWO copies of this game.
If Similar(Deus Ex){
Game = Awesome
Me = Get}
Else if Similar(Deus Ex: Invisible War){
Game = Crap
me = Go Postal}
booooooooo!! invisible war was a damned good game
I can see much of Kojima in those suits and equipment. (specially MGS4)
And Square Enix is just a damn surprising company, you can NEVER tell what kind of style they’re gonna use, or create. Simply put, this one IS AWESOME.
HUGE fan of Deus Ex (you know, the game which, if you say its name, someone installs it), and DEFINITELY playing Deus Ex 3!
To quote the best rated comment on YouTube: “I CAME”.
is the trailer, supposed to be this broken? for me it’s choppy, has buffering issues, and the audio is WAY off. please fix?
Oh man, if this game is anything like the original Deus Ex, I’m sold! Deus Ex is still one of my favorite PC games of all time, and I’ve been begging for a worthy successor for years. Please PLEASE let this be it!
I remember playing the first Dues ex game so long ago, only started paying attention again because of the trailer getting to this site.
If they can crank the graphics up so much that it will strain my 295 sli to the point where I can justify buying 480 in sli then I will deffinately buy and play it, if not then I just hope it has an amasing story.
“Dues Ex was one of the better games of its time”
You are the king of the understatement Joe
I’m optimistic about the story and art design.
I’m pessimistic about the game as a whole since it seems to disregard much of the original’s continuity and gameplay style (gameplay being one of the major things that made it so famous and respected in the first place).
This trailer remind me great time with Deus Ex. Eveything is there… except one… JC Dentons !
Deus Ex original intro :

never played the original, looks interesting if it turns out good I might try it, but as square becomes better at trailers their games become worse, so Im taking this with a pinch of salt.
Square Enix are only doing the CGI for the cinematic and trailer. All the rest is done by Eidos Montreal.
Think again.
Square Enix owns Eidos (and Eidos Montreal as of 2009 even then SE had a large percentage of the shares before) so I am dreading to see how DX 3 plays out.
I went from:
Meh Deux Ex 3…whatever.
To:
That is VERY VERY interesting.
Now we have to wait for the gameplay.
dam!!! Joe this looks very good I will maybe buy this when you post your review and from this impression and others that I have seen I’m hoping for two things free roam if they do not add this there going to miss a huge opportunity and the second thing they could do that would fit the trailers is is moral choices that effect the story I simply love this kind of thing in games and people decide to ignore that there game would be amazing or at least decent to me and a ton of others if this game douse these two things and adds its amazing looking graphics it might and this is a big might be able to compete with red dead redemption and might even beat it give me a reply on if you agree or disagree on my comment are what you might think game will have also hate to be a bother but dose any one know when this comes out.
That last part of the trailer. “I’m a man!” *punches through wall*
The part where the news said that there’s riots in Detroit, it gave me a chuckle.
Also this really reminds me of Ghost in the Shell
Deus Ex was one of the greats. I remember playing it until late into the night. The problem with the franchise is, it was significantly diluted for its release on the Xbox. If they can recapture the greatness of the first game, and allow the game to be as complex and intricate as the first, the game just might live up to the original Deus Ex.
the trailer for me, is jerky, the audio does not match up, and it has weird buffering issues. and when are we going to get some info on the new transformers game?
deus ex one of the better games of its time…….one of the best game ever lol
played it on my ps2 ages ago i lost it when moving to college….i miss that game )=
but im soo fing excited for deus ex but this crysis 2 gameplay has gotten me more pumped for crysis 2

How is this in a Blade Runner future when the first was in slightly-destroyed modern day?
For that matter, did Gunther and Anna suck, or did we just never get to see them do any of these things?
An how is a nano-augumented agent superior to one who’s arms can turn into weapons? – I don’t see JC Denton being able to do half the stuff this guy can. Is it because a nano-augumented agent could go undercover? well this guy has thermoptic camo, he doesn’t need to go undercover, and it’s not like you ever disguised as anything in Deus Ex anyway.
This trailer reminds me of the Star Wars prequels in a way that really scares me.
I mean, it looks epic, sure, but is it the same series or a completely different one with the Deus Ex brand on it?
Sure I’ll probably play it, but it’ll take gameplay shots to convince me to buy it I think.
the setting is closer to deux ex 2, i kinda liked the second ones setting but it takes a couple of missions for it to really get going. if you stick with it it’s an awesome game on it’s own
ps omar are awesome, i hope they bring them back they were very mysterious and deserve more attention
It have a bit of Prototype (The game) feel about it, though the cut scenes seems better and it is in more a futuristic seting.
Can’t wait to get my hands on it!=)
I remember the first one, in fact I still have it in my collection. Can’t wait for this one to come out. Thanks Joe!
This looks great, and can tie in almost perfectly right behind the original game seeing as it’s going the cybernetic augmentation route rather than the nanotech route, just like the two cyborgs in the first game, he even has the same powers as the female one, a gun hand and invisibility (you will notice this moreso if you attempted to fight her on the plane).
I’m really riled up for this one, I hope System Shock 3 will be just as good as it’s predecessors if not better, and remain true to it’s source just as Deus Ex 3 seems to be doing so far.
Montréal FTW! Finaly americans recognizing Montréal games! WOOT we’re so pro
.
Hmm….possible Nano suit ripoff???
Looks promising though.
Hey, is it just me,
or the main character looks like a BADASS version of Ed Glaser?
If anything the Nano Suit ripped off this game. Next time read the article that I post along with the video for more details of the game before you go and make accusations. Just lookin’ out for you.
Oops,
Thanks Joe
I didn’t know better,
thanks for pointing that out.
i remember playing Invisable War and liking it so ibought it on steam and i didnt remember how hard the fricking thing was
when is Matt Damon going to get his own video game.
Everything in this trailer looks real!
I’ve never played Deus Ex but I’m damn sure that i’ll get this one… after the reviews of corse.
time to change my pants. definitely one of the best trailers I’ve seen in a while. I only played a little bit of the original Deus Ex at a friends house and couldn’t really get into it because I couldn’t devote a lot of time to it and my computer couldn’t handle it. This looks incredible and every few seconds it was breaking the holy shit quotient. If you get to talk to anyone from squeenix or eidos, kiss them for me as a thank you for this trailer, and for finally making a sequel that I can play. This game will be awesome with the marriage of squeenix being the master of RPGs and Eidos being able to make some awesome platform/adventures.
I’m very glad Joe mentioned this. Dues ex is one of those really good but “forgotten” games of the days past.
The trailer was pretty awesome i must say. The voice actor sounded like Christian Bale i thought?! =)
The first Deus Ex was a riot to play back then and still is. I tried the second one but it wasn´t as exciting. Something was missing.. Looking forward to part 3 =)
Speaking as a guy who has never played any of the Deus Ex games, I gotta say that looks awesome, hell if they can keep up that level of excitment I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship between me and this franchise.
