Would it surprise anyone that M. Night Shamalan (I don’t care how to spell his name), he never watched the cartoon. Never did research… no all he did was ask people to tell him about it.

The cartoon is amazing, it really is! The fighting is way more badass, the dialog is intriguing and really done well. The animated movie they did for the finale of the cartoon series was 1000000000000000000 times better than this. The animated movie is awesome! Watch it! The Avatar turns into an ultimate being and just… I won’t spoil it. But its AWESOME!

Lol, this vid is 3 years old #Watching in 2013, anyway The Cartoon is Actually badass, holds its own with better choreography and Bending attacks than simple tossing rocks and water. The makers of the show had nothing to do with this Movie, it was all M. Night I think, but when I went to go see this shit after the ok looking trailer I wanted to literally kill someone in the theater it was so bad. The show is great, way better character development, Choreography, acting and storyline, likeable characters, and less people walking down hallways explaining what you just saw. and Legend of Korra the next series is pretty good as well.

The cartoon actually has the main character pretty weak and useless for the first season and half…plus the fire benders could actually, oh I don’t know, MAKE FIRE!

I’ve only recently been introduced to Joe’s reviews, even though I’ve been watching That guy with the Glasses for some time (as well as Spoony and Linkara). Once I did though I absolutely loved listening to Joe rant.

Then I saw his review on the god awful Avatar The Last Airbender movie.

It’s been almost three years and I’m sure others have said it before but I can’t help myself.

Joe,

I agree with EVERYTHING you had to say about the movie. Every…Single…Word.

You asked in your video for someone to explains things so here goes nothing:

1. Fire-Benders in the Show do NOT need to draw on nearby flame. They create it, in essence all Fire Benders are Pyro kinetic. The martial arts moves produce and manipulate the flame (fire bending is based on Northern Shaolin).

2. What you saw was one of the “Shorts” for Avatar. Where all the characters were essentially chibified and their behavior exaggerated from the show (though the show has some goofy moments).

3. In the show the comet doesn’t give some small boost it turns even a normal fire bender into a walking forest fire.

4. Aang’s ability to lift the ocean was due to two factors. A.) He entered “The Avatar State” A state where he gains access to the skills and knowledge of all the past Avatars (Avatar is big on reincarnation) this is what the glowing eyes and tattoos are all about. B.) When Aang entered the Avatar state he also fused his will with that of the Ocean Spirit (the black fish) together these two effects boosted his Water Bending (which he only just began learning) to massive heights. Consciously entering the Avatar State is not something Aang knows how to do at this time in the series.

Trust me had you been a fan of the show this movie would have ticked you off even more.

That said I urge you, if you haven’t already, to track down a copy of the series three seasons (you can find them all on Netflix at this moment)

Though the first season and parts of the second can be very goofy they have a certain charm (if you like Martial Arts….which judging from your Sleeping Dogs review you do.) the different bending styles (done right) will be worth watching the show.

Whew…I kinda ran long there so let me close this up.

I’ve enjoyed watching the reviews and will continue to do so from here on out. Thanks for Raking this awful movie across the coals!
