Comic Jumper Review
Short Version: Comic Jumper is one of the funniest games on XBLA! And every bit as crazy in the head as Angry Joe. Even though the game can be frustratingly difficult – its well worth the effort for all of the fresh and creative ideas scattered throughout. It’s an easy buy at $15 on its story, jokes, catchy songs and unlockable extras alone.
What you’ll Like:
• Extremely Fresh and Creative with plenty of 4th wall breaking parodies
• Great voice work and original songs
• Having 4 different comic worlds each with their own art styles is a nice mechanic
• The twist at the end is sufficiently “Twisted” =)
• Best Part: How the game has fun with itself and gets the developers involved.
What you’ll Hate:
• The difficulty feels cheap because of a lack of Health powerups.
• Enemy spawn waves seem to be padding out the game towards the end instead of actually adding anything.
• Its best to play this game spaced out over a few days as Smiley and Star’s bickering can get old if you play all the way through.
• Worst Part: Gerda is annoying as hell. She wont shut the bleep up about my health meter

Purchased yesterday night. It’s really addicting and has a pretty solid gameplay. Twisted pixel is going to be the new 2k Rare!
Sucks that this game isn’t out on the PC or PS3.

I really tried, tried hard, but this game is too frustrating. I mean I’m in Nanoc, and I can’t get through it. I thought I was near the end, but I still can’t get past the checkpoint, and I just can’t get through it anymore. I really give.
Also why haven’t we seen a video for Dead Rising 2 yet?

wow you must really suck. i beat the game in a day and laughed a ton. if you really cant beat that level then you wasted money because it does get harder. for any decent gamer though, its a blast.

i see the point but it is obvious that joes low rated game reviews are very often much more entertaining because of the simple fact that he can be like we want to see him – ANGRY. good critics are not bad at all of course! but when he rate about ten games or movies in a row with high 8 or 9er score there is some sort of “compensation” needed in particular when someone start a campaign against money-mad publishers.

Why would people vote this down? Because he mentioned PS3? I have and play both systems. In fact I had PS3 long before I got Xbox. Both systems have good and bad qualites. I’m tired of people bashing systems just becuase it’s not the one they have.

Great Review bro. The Games looks sweet, I wish I had a Xbox so I could get this game. I love games where they have fun characters, and fun story. Some people expect every good game to be deep or emotional like FF7 or Dragon Age, it’s sad that those people don’t realize that sometimes a smartly written game, though humerus, can be just as good if not better. From what you’ve said about this game, it well deserves the 8/10 you gave it.
I don’t have an X-Box though :O sorry, can’t support em.

Wow i cant believe this game got an 8, i was REALLY looking forward to this game but i played the demo and it seemed pretty repetitive and the melee combat was just so simple it was pointless. But then again it was a demo, and i dont see joe giving a review that i dont agree with. I think im gonna buy it just because i trust you joe!

I do agree the game NEEDS health power-ups. I was screaming at my TV (as usual) at how cheap the deaths were at times.
This is a really fun and funny, but I have to say the bonus challenges get kind of old as EVERY challenge in game is to get by the area without getting hit. I do love the unlockables in the game with a premium theme, gamer pics, and some avatar awards. I think those help make this worth the 15 dollars, though it does seem short.

You have to realize im not a huge mutlimillion dollar site, I can only review games, i think would be good for the show (i.e. i have interest in doing).
you should make an effort though to beat down a bad game at least once a month though

I would assume that most of the games he reviews he pays for out of pocket. I wouldn’t go out and buy bad games that I know I would hate just to have a bad review, and I doubt neither would Joe. So saying he gives to many 8′s is kinda retarded tbh. If a game comes out he wants to play that sucks, or if a gaming site asks him to review a game and it sucks, we will probably see lower scores on games, But as long as good content is coming out, I doubt you’ll get your wish for a brutal review.
You gotta remember it’s cheaper to review a bad film then a Game. Films cost 10 bucks 15 if you see in idiot vision (yes 3D I mean you). So buying a disappointing game hurts the wallet far more. At least that’s how I see it. Think of how many Chic’ Fillet sandwiches you could buy with the money you saved from a bad game. Now decided would you sacrifice that?
i do agree with the fans joe. but i do go for your side too. on one hand you need to show us the bad ones so (whoever that guy is that thought paying gamespot will give them a good score on kane and lynch 2: dog days was a good idea) we dont give them the money they don’t deserve, but on the other hand if you did alot more bad games, i think you would be losing your mind, and also I AM PRAYING TO VIDEO GAME GODS THAT THERE WILL BE A SEQUAL TO COMIC JUMPER. it looks good and i saw some clips on youtube. i looks good, might have some problems, but this does deserve at least one sequal, to see of the developer can fix a couple of things with the game.
