haha wow i never thought i would see Westwood High School again. Thats the school you filmed at right? It looks very familiar lol anyway yeah i used to make movies like this just for fun and i still do for my film class’s. good job joe! If you ever find more videos like this, don’t hesitate to post them!
lol. didnt even try to get away. X)
bad really really bad…. but the music is awsome
Like it, not love it, but like it a lots. Good job Joe.
Yay! This was neat ^^
IT weighs up for the silly beardman incident .
You are forgiven Joe
Is that Juno Reactor I hear in the beginning?
DD
Not bad at all! Quite like doing these mini-projects myself but they’re all in swedish. XD
Nice use of the manson RE ost. Can listen to that one endlessly.
Lots of love from Sweden.
Hey Joe,
That was an excellent short. Great control of suspense, sound, photography and direction. Definitely a video geek even back then.
Honestly, its goofy… But is a fun kind of thing that had to been a blast to make. Thats why I do like it. It is better then the actual last two Phantasm movies, kinda sad statement for the movie series.
You should remaster it and add digital enhancements just like your hero Mr. Lucus. Hell, make a 3D version while you’re at it.
But seriously, are you still even in contact with “the cast and crew”?
Haha, your film was so trashy, it was okay.
Best line: “Put that retarded…….. put it down!”
And Joe… I love your car.
You play a good game…boy.
I know im gunna get hated on for saying this but Joe, hid that movie. Set it on fire, freeze the ashes, eat the iced ashes, shit it out, burn your shit and then scatter it across the globe.
if you ever made that a full movie, i dont think i could take you srsly ever again.
You never made something just for fun as a kid?
Yes i have. Dozens of times in fact.
But i have destroyed the evidence every time. well most of the time. jks
but in all srsness, if that was made into a real movie, it would be garbage. when i first saw it thats what i thought it was suppose to be, a really bad fan film that was suppose to be bad but with this response i guess you were being srs with the movie.
As you claim to be someone who as done something like this “dozens of times” I’m am suprised by your negative response. OF COURSE these movies are bad but it dosent mean they should be hiddenin shame.
When I was in high school a bunch of friends and I made The Hobbit. It wound up being an hour long (school assignment gone horribly wrong) and yes, it was god awful. Every couple of years we wind up pulling it out and laughing our asses off. It dosent have to be good to be enjoyable.
@ Rafta9
Well I say, wot wot, This film that you did film as a young man is quite the bit of garbage, wot wot. You obviously were not able to make films then, and thereby cannot make films now, wot wot. I however have great talent, why even before you could spell your name I was being trained to make great films. You should never make a film again sir, now please allow me to pull out this dildo from my ass, wot.
Did anyone else read this in his comment because that’s what i say.
Fuck Rafta9, really your gonna judge someones entire film making career by one fan video they? Granted it’s not gonna win an oscar any time soon, but it did satisfy the basic need a film, whether long or short, needed to satisfy. It was entertaining. Saying the people that worked on this couldn’t cut it film making thats just being a pretension prick. You come to this site and watch Joe’s reviews, that is a film. Different genre but still it’s a big film based project and he does it weekly. You probably sit on you ass trolling forums looking for fan made films so you can cut them down like your Siskel or Ebert, and brag at your friends on how your a thespian. Just STFU and keep your opinions to yourself. No one here gives a shit.
As far as the film goes Joe, good job, I’m glad you stuck to it and and eventually game out with this site. If not for you I’d have to go to Zero punctuation for my review. /gag
Dear Angry Joe,
I wasn’t completely sure as to how I should contact you so I just searched for your name on posts. I just had a quick question, though a bit off-topic. Are you doing a Two Worlds 2 review? I respect you as a reviewer more than anyone else I know of. You’re a coll guy, and I hope you don’t use the words “Oblivion” or “clone” in your review of Two Worlds 2.
-Daniel
P.S. Keep up the good work.
I find it rather hard to take anyone who cannot capitalize “I”, spell complete words, or use proper grammar seriously myself. So thank you, for that insightful comment.
Joe, this isn’t half bad. It looks like you had a fun time doing it, too, which is what this whole video-making scheme is all about. That and the money. Don’t forget the money. >_> <__>
You should do a video on the origins of angry Joe. How everything started off with a nice glorious beginning, then have something that snapped inside that shaped you how you are today “either a video game you were looking forward to and it sucked, or a movie lol”.
Lupa was right. But good try on very limited technology of 2001.
The piece conveyed nice spooky feeling for me but also left me baffeled as to why just this guy was chosen as victim. Haven’t seen the phantasm movies so might be somethign there.
Joe, instead of reviewing dj hero you could review fallout new vegas, vanquish, enslaved, castlevania, super meat boy and fable 3(among others). just seem like better games for you to review cuz everyone pretty much knows if there gonna buy dj hero 2 or not.
Not saying dj hero is bad, just saying that the games i mentioned seem like games that people want to know if there approved by you or not, just my opinion. Either way your videos are awesome and will not be disapointed!
I love the Phantasm films. This one does the originals some justice I think. But I would have rather seen some reference to the “tall man” – he was the reason I watched those films. Still…good job.
I liked it, held a little too long on some scenes but other than that it was good. The music was awesome, Resident Evil opening music correct? Though I did find some of the other sounds like the radio chatter at the beginning and some of the sounds when the cultist appears are a little jarring and made it harder to hear the actors. For a fan film I thought it was pretty good, oh and how long has it been since you’ve gone by Joey Vargas? I just thought it was interesting in the credits since we pretty much all think of you as just Angry Joe, it’s like when I hear Phelous called Phelan, it’s pretty close but it always surprises me. Thanks for posting this Joe
Yea the First Resident Evil soundtrack songs by Mason were excellent.
