Surely people won’t be stupid enough to fall for this. Star Wars in 3D? Over six years? Surely no-one but a handful of stupid people won’t go and pay for that. I really really hope so.
Exactly, Halbarad; Lucas hasn’t done anything worthwhile for over two decades. Even Star Wars and Indiana Jones can’t make up for everything since then, and even those he has managed to destroy.
George Lucas used to understand that movies are driven by actors and fans, NOT by effects and dollars. That George Lucas died sometime in either the late 80′s or early 90′s.

For shit’s sake dude. Chill the hell out. It is not that bad. Yes the prequels were pretty bad, but it is not the end of the world. Again, I think they do not need to be in 3D, but chill the hell out.

Why rerelease phantom menace we didn’t like it in 2d why will we like it in 3?
Ive always wanted to see the entire saga in theaters since i only got to see episode 1 and 3, don’t really care about 3D you really never notice it after a couple minutes
When I heard about this I literally exploded with Fury, being a big fan of Star Wars myself but a crusader against 3D I will gallantly defend the Star Wars franchise by keeping all of my original DvD’s AND the original 4, 5 & 6 on VCR (xD) to myself. I will also NOT go see the movies and use the $90 to fund the creation of the Old Republic Movie like you said Joe =P. I am just getting sick of 3D taking over our Media and all the fanboys fucking over it so much, as the saying goes. “Just because it’s new, doesn’t mean it kicks ass”.
And then you know what he will do? He will release a special edition 3d DVD set a year after the fist 3d DVD set with even more slapped on effects.
By the time the phantom meance is released in 3D in 2012 all hell will break loose.

I dont get the problem with 3D at this point. And besides, its George Lucas! he knows what is best for the fans.(excluding force unleashed,clone wars,midichlorians,Ashoka,jar jar and the so called all powerful palpatine that is the worst sith lord ever! canon or not!)P.S Revan is the best person in the starwars universe!

I love 3D, got a 3D TV and games work really well with it, but this movie is just a way to rip fans off, every time some little piece of new tech comes out there will be a re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release of Star Wars using that tech.
I’ll go and watch one of those when they invent holograms like in the movie!

I have no point in seeing 3-D star wars because I OWN all the movies (yes, prequels too, except Phantom Menace) along with a special features disc. That cost me enough $$$ not wasting it on crap 3-D … Ya know what’s worse? There are very, very few movies that even do 3-D right! Most of the ones that even turn out like 3-D should are at an IMAX theater and are the nature or space 30 min to an hour movies where it feels like that giant whale is swimming over you. Point of 3-D is to immerse the watcher into the movie, not a single action film I’ve seen in 3-D actually does that right. Either they have no clue what they’re doing, or people never look all that good in 3-D. 3-D if it must be around at all, should stick to nature films, or outer space ones or CGI, because real people look like crap in 3-D. Another thing George doesn’t realize is that you have to shoot the actual footage of the movie with a 3-D camera for it to even turn out right! Not go back later and just gloss over the 3-D-ness. It won’t even turn out right and frankly, I hate wearing those damn glasses. George is just being a money grubbing whore and frankly for that, I’m no longer interested in anything he comes out with. As Angry Joe summed it up in one word that I completely agree with…. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!
Stop this George. Stop remaking things to suit the technology of the time. HAN SHOT FIRST DAMMIT! Although it would be cool to see the big battles in 3d…….but then it comes with the price of all the other crap.
