Kinect Sports Review
Short Version: Kinect Sports is an incredibly fun sports compilation game and the best of its kind from the Kinect Launch Titles, however all of the special requirements; Hardware, room space, and physical activity limits its replayability a bit. With the right friends and environment though, Kinect Sports accomplishes its goal if only just.
What you’ll Like:
• The Track And Field Games (especially the sprinting)
• Get a work out while playing fun mini-games!
• The videos that play after each event of your performance are always hilarious!
• On Professional and Champion difficulty levels the AI provides a surprising and tense challenge.
• Best Part: Sprinting & Hurdles are too much fun and quite a workout!
What you’ll Hate:
• Boxing is a let down, whoever throws the most punches non-stop wildly will win every time.
• I feel like there could have been a few more sport events.
• Singleplayer isn’t much fun in these types of games
• Worst Part: The disconnect between trying to perform “virtual” moves vs. the actual moves such as discus, sprinting, etc. It never feels like you are in complete control.
Final Verdict:
6/10

Sorry dude I will NEVER get a Kinect for two reasons.
1) I already have a Wii (And Playstation 3)
2) The peripheral looks rather bland
Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort is better.
Jeez, so much in-game advertisement. They should give you a discount like they do with the kindle.
The only non first-party logo inclusion I didn’t mind was when my Wii Remote + came with Sony batteries.
Looks like a fun game, to bad I have a Ps3

Freezing is even more annoying in Skyrim, especially if you’re about to kill a boss and it freezes, actually it doesn’t matter because the AI of the dragons is worse than the AI of the standard NPC characters, it’ll try to kill you but if you stand behind it it acts as if you don’t exist.
Understanding that you do not have the Wii, I do. Wii Sports that came with the game (unless you had it around 2010, when Wii Sports Resort also came with it). Anyway, Wii Sports is alot of fun. It has 5 games, but there is a fitness part that can boil down to about 15 mini games. It would land at about 6/10 in my book because it will give you a smile every darn time.
i love how i also hate that sonic game….and comming to think of it i hate all the sonick games =)
that voiceover guy seems to be voiceovering pretty much everything
you suck at tennis i havent lost a game against my challengers, which is usally aganst my mom =(. you see the colored on fotball thats where the opponent will shot. you sould play aganst campion when you over level 30 not nice.

According to my friends, the Kinect has a lot of horrible games that they are going to recall every one in the MARKET, (no not in your own house.). Just saying.
Just be glad it’s better than Sonic Free Riders.

Haven’t commented in a little bit, but I just wanted to say great job on all your recent reviews Joe. I check your site a couple times a week, and I’ve been loving your Kinect reviews. Congratulations on the launch of BlisteredThumbs.net as well. I check that site now regularly only because your videos post there before anywhere else. You are the best contributer to BlisteredThumbs by far. Your coverage of the Kinect games has been incredible. I am personally extremely interested in Kinect because it is a cool piece of technology but there hasn’t been any games that have warranted a buy from me. It is great seeing your reviews of the launch lineup however and it has proved extremely useful in validating my wait to buy a Kinect. Keep up the extremely great work. You are the best voice for video gamers out there on the internet and by far one of my favorite shows to watch.

look joe i hate, haters but somethings gotta be said. fact is this review was up on blistered thumbs a week ago. if your own site is going to come second when it comes to content why bother having it up?
Sadly, I would have to agree. I don’t know if Joe is just really trying to push Blistered Thumbs himself or if he’s getting a nice chunk of cash to blatantly draw traffic to the site. The whole ordeal feels very corporate though, which is pretty disheartening.
I really wish that I could say I was excited about Blistered Thumbs and that it met my expectations.
But I honestly can not. I don’t blame the site itself for that or anyone involved. But rather my own personal preference. I simply already have my own handful of reviewers that I care about. Quite frankly, the dull written reviews I’ve seen so far just don’t interest me. It just isn’t my cup of tea I suppose. Its been nothing but a chore to navigate that site looking for the few things I actually want to see.
Now I know its not really a big deal, and whatever is posted there of Joes will eventually at some point be posted here as well. Just kind of a bummer to see this site take a backseat to something I’m not at all interested in. Regardless, I’ve really enjoyed the last few reviews. I just about died laughing at both the Sonic and Dance Central reviews.
wow @ all the in game advertising. its my belief that if games contain advertising, they should be free, or extremely cheap.
