Sonic Free Riders Review
Short Version: God make it stop! Sonic Free Riders has been my hands down WORST gaming experience since I started the AngryJoeShow. Never in my life has a game made me feel more sick, irritated, and downright annoyed than Sonic Free Riders. I despise everything about this game.
What you’ll Like:
• The time that you spend not playing the game.
• Best Part: Returning it to the game store for a FULL Refund.
What you’ll Hate:
• This game is broken.
• The Terrible Menu Interface – the voice commands need you to speak the name of the button but they dont display the name of the button except for when you have the button selected.
• Also, the game is broken.
• 2-player is a nightmare you dont feel like you have enough room and your movements seem to register even less often than in the single player mode.
• The graphics combined with the sudden direction changes will have you feeling nauseous within the first lap. You will feel sick playing this game.
• Did I mention, the game is broken? It doesn’t work as advertised.
• The soundtrack wears on you quickly.
• Worst Part: Playing it and feeling sick afterwards, even on different play throughs and days – that nasty feeling each time lasted hours and I refuse to forgive this game for it. If a game is this broken and induces this kinda reaction something should have been done to tweak or correct the mechanics.
Final Verdict:
1/10

My friend rented this and we played 2 player. after 1 lap of hitting walls and going 10mph i said screw it. should have known of Angry Joe earlier than then.

Sega apparently found out how to unlock Joe Prime.
My friend and me tried it once and he actually said and i quote : “This game seems to be good”

The only thing i loved about this game was the theme, the soundtrack is just remade from the first game, This game show have just been the third game on the 360 that we used a CONTROLLER. The first two games were awesome this one was awful and i’m a hardcore sonic fan, Also no shadow? This game is already a joke
Man I am sick and tired of game designers creating these shitty ass and selling it to gamers like us. Now I don’t expect a perfect game from people because no game will be perfect they will have minor flaws. But I do expect a game thats engaging or at least entertaining. Dude Joe thank you because I was going to buy this game but i looked at your review first you saved like 40 or 60 dollars.
This game is a freaken joke, a scam you name it. It is such a shame that Kinect has created one of the worst game ever and had killed the Sonic series thanks to Kinect. Obviously Kinect just isnt up to the job, it beats me who would even buy this crap. Getting the control to work is just a nightmare.

I played the demo a month back and I knew his game was horrible. Good to see the whole thing is crap as well. Developers need to be shot.
Goddamn this game looks beyond awful. I will, never, ever pick this one up. OXM lied to me. They gave a 6/10 and their high point was “The diversity and amount of courses”. There were 6 courses!
Its sad to see what was once a decent and fun game series (sonic riders) evolve so poorly. I personately thought they would go back to using a joystick, it was much easier to control.
Brokon beyond repair? Irritating as all the bats in 16 bit games? Annoyingly loud? Holy Crap! This game is the perfect representation of the Sonic fanbase in general!

I thought Sega finally got what a game is supposed to be about when they released Sonic 4. But I guess they just got lucky and somehow made that game fun.
Or perhaps they have two teams working on Sonic games and they desperately need to fire one of those teams.
Sonic 4 sucks also, Sonic Colors is the only good Sonic Game that came out in 2010.

This is the first ever epic failure of all the kinect games. From what I have seen in the game play alone, I would as well give this 1/10. EPIC FAIL SEGA!!!!!!

Joe. Complete overreaction there. Thumb me down all you want, but he really did get a broken version of the game. Also recall that this game was rushed to BE a kinect launch title. Last time Sega rushed something was Sonic 06, and everyone knows what happened to 06. I just feel sad for you, Joe. If this game is your lowest score, your gonna have to dig some graves to bury Adrenalin Misfits and other games nobody likes on the Kinect.

Plus, I wasn’t saying Joe was entirely wrong, I have seen broken versions like his, I was saying he was overeacting and only considering one thing, that Sega did put the time and money into the game, and it came out broken. Thats not the case. It was rushed to launch with the kinect, and the team lost all the time needed to fully correst every disc.
Then they shouldn’t have rushed it, obviously. Which is still their fault, and the company is to blame for the game. You can’t just say “It’s not their fault, it was rushed!” Whose decision was it to rush it? The players? If it was rushed and they knew it was shit they should have charged less than $50, $60 for it. Any company who knows they didn’t do their best on something and still tries to charge you out the whazoo for it should be ashamed.

The developer of this game should pay for this horrible ……….well, it can’t be called a game. This will probably be in prisons soon when on death row. You can choose between the electric chair, lethal injection, or play Sonic Free riders. I think i can speak for everyone when I say: “I’ll take the chair!!”
My main problem with this game is the premise alone.
When I play a Sonic game, I expect to just play as Sonic (and occasionally Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow) and when I play as him, I expect to be running so fast as to become a blue blur, bashing ‘bots at breakneck speed. The main point of playing Sonic is running fast, and when you put Sonic in a racing game where he’s not even running, WHAT THE FUCKING POINT!?!
Sonic Drift, Sega All-Stars Racing, Sonic Riders, all of these games have Sonic fail to capitalize on his ability to outrun fucking sound. The only good Sonic racing game is Sonic R, you know why? Because they have Sonic running on his own two feet!
Really, this just proves to me that every time Sega tries to make a game that lets it jump on the most recent gimmick bandwagon, they end up with an ungodly abomination. Want more proof? Sonic Team created a game solely for “next-gen” systems back when that was important, that game was Sonic 2006, which was so bad that reviewing the plot alone nearly drove me to homicidal lunacy!
The only good thing about this game is the soundtrack at the opening. Call me what you will, but I like it. Oh and Knuckles. And the pose Knuckles strikes.
But in all seriousness, this quite deviates from what Sonic was meant to be. I mean, swallows, albatrosses and hawks? Did Sega think we want to partake in a bird-watch marathon or something?

Yo this is the most retarded game ever. After sonic riders zero gravity came out I hated it. So when sonic free riders was goin to come out I thought hey second shot well they royely pissed me off. When my friend told me he bought it I was about to b##tch slap him through the eefin phone.
