4. Stars 2 good graphics? Hell yeah I’m stoked, but you’re blind dude, those graphics are horrible.. Doesn’t matter because the game will rock anyway
5. Rift Innovative? Riiiight.. It’s WOW with (after a while) boring Rift events.. That’s it. Zero replayability which is ok if the end game had anything to keep attention for longer than a month.

I’m still surprised Joe hadn’t placed Brink in there, its suppose to be a revolutionary change in FPS with its SMART system along with all the new features it is bringing out in May. I can’t wait to be a husky Security, toting a mini-gun as I leap over short obstacles with gravity defying moves. But I’m still glad he showed Guild Wars 2 and Skyrim, I hadn’t even heard of either of them until now and I’m definitely buying them when they release after seeing how awesome they will be.

Brink does look an awful lot like TF2, but I have hopes, since TF2 is an incredibly good game.

Rift is “innovative” and SWTOR is “WoW, period”? How do you expect people to take you seriously when you make comments like that? My advice is to do a little more research before you start reporting on a product…..yeah, I know he said he played for several hours, but he must have had his head up his ass for the majority of it if that’s what he truly thinks. Oh, and by the way, there is no auto attack. Lol.
My most anticipated game of 2011 is SWTOR. To be honest, I don’t agree with your thoughts on it Angry Joe. I find that the game is not a WoW clone with a kotor skin on it. First, it may have things similar to WoW, but WoW didn’t start that. WoW copied things from other MMO’s. They are standards, and for SWTOR not to have them would seem too weird. Another thing is all the new things, like you said, that are in the game that WoW doesn’t have. Now I don’t expect the game to destroy WoW. WoW is a good game, but I have to say that I quit it for SWTOR.
But anyways, here are my top games (I don’t have a ridiculous amount of gamesI want to play this year, only 3 really)
1. SWTOR
2. Mass Effect 3 (Call me a Bioware fan?)
3. ES5: Skyriim
God damn it Joe, you really know how to sell a game. Your integrity really is something to behold. Was going to say you should take another look at SW:TOR, BW is really trying to make combat fluid without auto attacking and the story choices you make with your avatar will effect you well into end game content.
That said…Guild wars 2 just looks sexy, but where the hell are the release dates for either swtor and GW2…

my most anticipated games of 2011 are
1. GEARS OF WAR 3 (all weapons have executions except 2 pistols makes it my MoG of 2011
2. MW 3 (if it does come out this year)
3. Battlefield 3 ( an improved frostbite 2.0 engine and amazing graphics make it to number 3)
4. inFAMOUS 2 (though i dont have a ps3 i played it at my friends house and it ruled)
5. deus ex human revolution (although i was skeptical about even buying it after seing this video it made it to number 5 on my list)
6. L.A. Noire ( same with Deus ex 3 but it only made up to number 6)
7. battlefield play4free (if it does come out this year)
8. MW 3 sledgehammer games (if it does come out this year)
You…need to get a pc. You also need to stop being a franchise for the same dying franchises that have shat-out the same game to you every single year and robbed you of your 60$ + 30$ (because surely, you paid for their rip-off CARBON COPIED maps) *cough* call of duty *cough*.
Why did you contribute Fable to Id? Im pretty sure they had nothing to do with that, and Im pretty sure you could contribute DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstien to them instead. Also not really looking forward to RAGE even though I love the developer. Its been in production for afew years, and it was around before Fallout 3, or Borderlands. Back then it looked original, but now it just looks bland. Hopefully Id can pull some of thier FPS making goodness from it.

While Skyrim looks interesting, I’ll wait and see until it actually is released and read the reviews of it. I sure as hell didn’t like Morrowind nor Oblivion (though Oblivion’s graphics were pretty neat).
I’m kind of on the fence about SW:ToR. The first gameplay video I saw made me interested and then the later vids come out and I can’t help but scratch my head thinking “WTF is this?” Time will tell, I suppose.
Rage looks like a better Borderlands-clone. With cars. Presumably it’s more fun in multiplayer with a friend, assuming Co-Op mode exists?
Deus Ex looks pretty damn cool. I might pick that up.
I am personally waiting for Witcher 2. I liked the first one. It took a while to get the story going but it really picked up about half-way through the game. I also liked the combat-system. Hopefully, Witcher 2 will be better.
Mass Effect 3 needs to come out soon. I need my daily fix of shooting up Reapers and making a living hell for The Illusive Man. I just hope that all the choices you made in ME1/2 has a significant impact in ME3. You’re going to need more than your little team of 10 folks to screw over the Reapers if the last scene in ME2 is anything to go by.
Guild Wars 2 looks pretty sweet. I might give that a whirl, as well. I never could get into GW1 or any of its expansions. Hopefully, GW2 will bring more to the table than the first game ever did.
Last but not least: Apple pies. You know you want one.
Actually, Borderlands is a Rage clone… Rage started development far earlier then Borderlands and is a way better title..

11. Spec Ops the Line ( After years of dissapointments I really hope that this Spec Ops will do the franchise some real justice.)
10. DMC (I personally think that this potential remake will be a sucess because DMC 4 wasn’t that good if the developers take the old things that made the DMC series so good they may have a great game.)
9. Alice Madness returns (I absolutly love old childhood classics bcoming F*&!ed up, crazy worlds – this game is gonna be good)
8. XCOM (I believe that this game will do justice to the origional)
7. Duke Nukem Forever ( About F****** time!)
6. DOOM 4 (That pretty much speaks for itself)
5. Beyond good and Evil 2 (The first for Ps2/Xbox was good. Looken forward to the sequel – if it’s coming this year.)
4. Highlander the game ( Highlander deserves to have a game and I really hope it comes out this year)
3. Rage ( ID Software has never made a new IP in I think 14 years so this has some promise)
2. Aliens: Colonial Marines ( I got word that this game might be coming this year. Fingers crossed)
1. Deus Ex: Human Rveolution ( Oh my mother F****** GOD! I truely think The Deus EX 3 will be the first of possibly many true 10/10 games)

is there any reason you dont play Deus Ex 1? you say you are looking forward to Deus Ex 3 and its about the gameplay, and Deus Ex 1 is still on every best games list that exists, also the graphics dont hurt by todays standards, so its pretty logical to play it when you are waiting for 3

10) Silent Hill8 : Hoping this one is the REAL current gen Silent Hill to ring the series back to glory
9)LOTR: Looks like the gameplay from the previous games last gen and that’s a great thing
8)SOCOM4: Mainly in this one for true tactical SP & Co-op gameplay. MP doesn’t seem to be for me anymore
7)Motorstorm3: LUNATICS MUST UNITE!
6)Infamous2: Not liking that voice change at all but electric super powers FTMFW!
5)Shogun2: Damn, just damn. I got to brush off my PC skills for this one. Just gots ta.
4)Killzone3: Got bumped down from #2 spot when I found out no co-op… but hell, it’s frikgen Killzone!

Did you know there is a huge multipage thread about your TOR comments on the TOR forums. A lot of good stuff over there. Its not too negative.
TOR is still my most anticipated game because I love WoW but I am looking forward to a new world to call my home. I have played a lot of MMO’s and you can call anything a WoW clone. The truth is they are not WoW clones, they are just your standard MMO’s. I enjoy MMO’s I like the investments and grinds and I don’t always need some new Genre breaking never done Mechanic to make me enjoy the game. If its solid I love it. Look at Rift, its just like Wow and its great. I think a lot of players who don’t jibe with MMO’s will bash the hell out of TOR but I think it will find its audience and it will be great. Here’s to hoping and I love your freakin site!
Was just wondering if any of the rpg fans had seen dark souls. I rarely see people talk about it and was just wondering if I’m the only one kinda psyched about it.
I can see Guildwars 2 and Tera…. However, I think you need to read up a bit more on Rift being a step up? It doesn’t do anything very special, or revolutionalizes the genre.

LA NOIRE is a must get game. After enjoying Mafia 2, I love Sandbox games now and I want to re play GTA4 and RDR and finally finish those games.

@E Altar: Err.. why would they play Guild Wars 2 INSTEAD of TOR when they can play them simultaniously? o_O One is Pay to Play, one is free to play after you bought it. Btw graphics isn’t everything to a game. Lower graphics -> Can run on lower specced PCs -> more player can play it without having terrible lag.

yet most of the latest games run supper fine but some don’t
for instance dead space 1-2 run great on full with barely any lag and they are visualy stunning
prototype on the other hand won’t work
it’s more of an encoding thing it seems weather the game will run or not on lower machines
any way the point i was trying to make is that swor realy realy looks bad and dated for the production budget… honestly from the videos it looks like kotor 1
Although i completely disagree with what you said about Skyrim I have to agree about what u said regarding the next Rockstar game.
Thank you Rockstar for releasing a fantastic game that made the big hit of open world sandbox games with it’s stunning features gameplay and mechanics…but never releasing this for the FUCKING PC. Am I gonna buy a fucking Xbox just for that game? No fucking way I’ll just enjoy a fully well modded Fallout 3 dressed with a Sherif Hat and Duster and just pretend it’s a future-apocaliptic inferior version of that game.

had enough of this console exclusive shit, and bought a console for one game (skate3)…
bought one extra monitor to hook it up, (I don’t have tv in my room – I don’t watch tele anymore),
bought a dedicated cable for this, and proper converter, thank god i didnt throw away my old music tower(?) so at least i didn’t have to buy speakers, anyway – it was costly… stupid thing ate my whole money dedicated for upgrade of my PC…
still – buing a console for just one game is kinda stupid, so I started to browse through console titles, and it has gone somthing like this: – no – I get this one for PC, and this one too, and this one too, RDR? – I rather play it with keybord and mouse – so no, same story with all fps’es, tps’es,
to be honest I only considered Forza as a 360 excl. I could buy… but nfs shift 2 is coming and it looks like it will be far better game, so to hell with Forza (Forza fanboys will minus the shit out of this comment for that statement, oh well). Looking back I cant say it was a worthwhile purchase.
Point of my petty story is, us PC gamers will rarely find a console to be worth its price,
look at this this way: yeah you wont get your hands on this one game (probably, who knows maybe Rockstar will port it someday) – but you have far more superior ways in playing other games than console users (no offence intended), come on – fps with a controller – that is just silly

Skyrim is easily number 1, I haven’t been this anxious for a game in a looong long time. Probably going back to when blizzard was in their hayday releasing games like diablo,starcraft and the warcraft series.
LA noir I really wasn’t too excisted about I figured meh just another rockstar GTA game based in LA. But this one seems deep and story driven, more about engaging the mind than mindless action, which I love so I’ll probably be all over that game.

I SO agree with the verdict SWTOR vs GW2… SWTOR has so fallen in my esteem. *sigh* I don’t know why Bioware with such a huge bag of money makes such a conservative backdated sort of MMO. Nothing fancy visually, or in terms of combat or in any other way. Just more of the same, now with story. A pity, since I too am such a big Star Wars fan. Aww well.

I loved your enthusiasm Joe, though the back of your list seemed to be a little lacking (Rage and Sword of the Stars?). Seeing the trailers for Deus Ex 3 and Skyrim really pumped me up again.
One thing I’m looking forward to which might possibly be out this year is an independent zombie RPG called Dead State. Classic isometric open-ended gameplay with player decisions to boot. There’s also a base of operations which has to be managed as you collect other survivors, organize raids and collect resources. It remains to be seen how all of this is going to pan out, but it still sounds very exciting.
