I gotta tell ya, there are good Movie Licensed games.
LOTR:Counquest along with the Old SW games (Jedi Outcast, Academy, Battefront, Empire at war)… And I enjoyed that LOTR strategy game. LOTR Battle for middle-earth 2. Movie Licensed games were a cool addition to the movies, something to expand the world of the movie to more people. Now they are shitty, cashgrabbin’ backstabbin’ junk that leeches the movie highly subjective ,,fame”.
No offense Joe, but the Black Lantern Corp is more of my cup of tea. Another great review, though I’m sorry you had to live through this shit.
…sigh.
You know, movie games don’t have to be like this. Why, the first movie game I ever owned was the Return of the King game on the Gamecube, and it was awesome. It had a lot of exclusive content, scenes from the movie (I got it a few months before the movie came out, so seeing scenes from the movie was especially awesome) and a plethora of unlockable characters and upgrades.
So why do these developers keep giving us this shit?
Wasnt even planning on getting this game, knowing how crappy movie license games are. This confirms my thoughts.
Oh god, I remember the first time I bought a movie-licensed game… -_-
Hell yes, with the Red Lantern corps the Angry Army will be unstoppable.
Poor Joe no human being should have to play so many Movie Lincensed Games for our enjoyment.
sorry for the pain joe just a bit more games you can do this joe
my thoughts exactly on everything
great review
Great shirt. ^^
Love how the game does a disappearing act out of the box after the 3 min mark xD
Why are this kind of movie tie in games even made and for who?
That is a great Question. Who knows.
But they obviously sell and that’s why they keep making them.
=(
Best part is when he complains about the 3D. Then when Joe and Other Joe are playing the game with the glasses you could clearly see the Green Lantern game in the box.
Lol
you are the modern agvn
who the hell is” AGVN”?
I hope to god you didn’t mean AVGN because that’s just….nonsensical.
Yo, Joe! I gotta say I love your reviews! After I watched this review, I got this game for free after playtesting for WB Games and there is one point I do have to put out there. You made a good effort to show people what the game looks like through the 3D glasses. Unfortunately, the 3D glasses view does not translate well since our eyes work differently than the actual camera lens (3:32). This is because our brain interprets the lenses as two different views of depth combined to give us the 3D view. I will say that the 3D effects do work. That does not necessarily mean that I’m endorsing the effects used, rather that the 3D glasses do work as intended. It was pretty hilarious that you put the glasses on the camera lens though! XD
why so much complain on hack and slash? the only good movie licensed games ever made were:Tron:evolution, transformers and ghost riders those were truly the only ones good, tough devil may cry and god fo war were the best ever made in this type of game
*sigh* that had to be a troll comment.
Scarface
Chronicles of Riddick
Wolverine origins
Just to name a few that were much better than any you listed.
Joe is one badass motherfucker
NO MORE FUCKING POINTLESS MOVIE-LICENSED GAMES!!!!!!!!!! *red beam comes out of ring*
Shouldn’t everyone on TGWTG.com be in the Red Lantern Corps?
I humbly disagree. This is not just another movie license game. True, it has the budget of an average cell phone, and is completely unoriginal, but this is the ONLY GREEN LANTERN GAME EVER MADE.
Seriously, you’re telling me that Iron Man got 2 games, EA sports is raking in millions with their madden series, and Mortal Kombat is able to make a crappy sequel to their ultra-violence extravaganza every couple of years, and noone thought to create a game about a corps of super powered space marines with rings that can create anything they can think of?!
I hate the gaming industry sometimes….
Why was this so down voted? Seems like people read “I disagree” and voted down before reading the comment.
Holy shit is Joe Pissed off or what. Hold on ’till I get my Blue Lantern Corps Ring, that’ll fix him.
Red Lantern Joe has voice of Cho’Gath! XD
And its for $59.99? xD sigh…. I want better games reviewed =( stop making Joe do this crud.
HEART!!!!
Whatever happened to the Back to the Future game review?
Hey Joe, were you born a badass or did you have to train for years to get that awesome?
Is it time for Captain America already? Man time passes quickly.
hay joe you gonna do a reveiw on rise of the planet of the apes ?
No matter how much the games suck i just love these reviews you do joe. there is something satisfying with seeing you freak out
I complety agree. I wont stop laughing untill I see Joe have a heart attack on air.
i hate to nitpick but i have one thing to say. Red lanterns power is that they shoot a red plasma type substance out of their MOUTHS, just sayin. . . great review. Black Lantern ftw! Go Joe!
Sure…but i wasnt sure how to make puking Joe look badass so Ive went with the regular laser projectiles
You should find a way to do a crossover with Spoony to have a Black Lantern Spoony Vs Red Lantern Joe fight. That would be awesome.
Well that whole laser shooting street scene felt really gluttonous and unnecessary, unless you’re setting him up for something else down the line and this is all gradually leading to next year’s TGWTG villains anniversary.
Is there a way to start watching review without seeing score first? Seriously, I need an answer.
But at the very least (like it matters) its co-op. Great review once again Joe. On a side note. Anyone who reads this, check out Shadows of the damned. Its one of those games that will fly under alot of people’s radar. Didn’t sell many copies at launch, probably won’t have a sequel. But it is the funniest damn game I have played in a long time!
the special effects in the beginning were so damn good
Awesome review as always Joe, but damn you should make a break and review some good games like Shadows of the damned, Catherine, Alice Madness, bulletstorm, Crysis 2, portal 2. There are some very good 2011 games you left behind by doing these movie based games (Captain America is alright though) reviews.
Agree but… I think it´s funnier to see him angry!
…I know… I´m a bad person -_-u
hey beats playing thor and joe if you liked BC2 are you going to review BF3 when it comes out
I really like these recent reviews.
You should definately review DiRT 3, thanks joe for your cool reviews,
Plasma
AWESOME review Joe! I still admire how you’re able to play these shitty movie licensed games all the way through. I would end up giving them to my cat, so that he could scratch the back of the disc
Can’t wait for the next review
Dude gotta like how you do your reviews. Yeah I would have to agree it is a paradox that was around with us since the beginning of TV/Films/Video games. Good to great games tend to make bad movies likewise good to great movies/TV shows tend to make for very bad games. Also Joe if you have enough time could you review the game metro 2033 by any chance?
