Never had problem with lip sinking on my PC, and also on PC it loads so fast that I never had time to read those small paragraphs of story that they have there.
Common knowledge PC > consoles. Joe, get yourself decent desktop and start playing games on that, don’t limit yourself.
I would have given the game a 9/10 easy, on the PC. Only a few seconds loadtime so keeps you in the action nonstop almost, the very bad, and almost useless animation during NPC speeches is the main reason i drag it down to 9/10, though there are some glitches etc., and some more things. First Deus Ex ive played and i was stunned by its epicness. Good review though ^^
Good review as always Joe! I love it! Everything is so true.
Well … maybe i would personaly give it a 9 tho. Maybe i’m wrong. If i compare it to your Red Dead Red. review, that game wasn’t perfect either. You said so yourself. And it was a 10. You did mention some flaws for HE, but most (if not all) were not so much affecting the play or atleast for me. I also played the PC version and with my 4 or 5 year old computer, the loading was 5-10 seconds.
Well a 8/10 is a great score too i guess!
And like u said, i would highly recommend this game to everybody too.
OMG…. there are so many thing wrong with deus ex
the game shoot it’s self in the foot and in the balls
because when you are a simple human …. you can’t do shit….. why not..
aparently here is an other case of the future is dumb
why as a simple human do you not have a hud… because you dont have ocular augments
what is stopping you from buying sunglases with a hud function????
every time i boot up the game i find somthing new that fails
deus ex human desilusions is just a run of the mill FPS with a mild case of minor rpgism
and even then it’s just an upgrade game
why can’t you chose your augments…. but the… “plot” the game shoots it’s self and realy blocks you from the tackeling the big question your self
do i augment?
how far am i willing to upgrade?
how much humanity am i willing to loose?
Do i even loose humanity?
the gameplay of the game is … well quite frankly friking lame
you can play blindfolded as long as you have energon you can’t loose a fight
because it’s an animation
the first 3 time it’s cool….. and then it gets realy realy old
….. hoo dear …. i can realy talk to no end about what is wrong ….. and this is basicaly just from the first 3 levels (opening, first mission and some time in the city)
ho yeah …. very very important ….. DO NOT EXPLORE
you will fuck up a quest location and make that quest a hasel just because you were curious
so don’t go anywere unless you need to
Hope when the dlc comes out you’ll review it
This Game is just epic, i enjoyed it very much and finished it without killing any guy in game, that was hard and sometimes frustrating but it was epic
And awesome review Joe as always
Nice review, I agree with you!
The only real challenge to play this game is to play it on Deus Ex difficulty / Pacifist / Ghost and take down all enemies. Stealthing and passing enemies is so easy.

Thx 4 yet another cool review. You went all out with the FX on this one
Joe, what do you have in your schedule for the rest of the year? If you haven’t made a schedule, you should. And yeah, I’m hoping that you will have time to review the great games in the fall. And of course, I deeply hope for your opinion on Dark Souls when it comes out. My expectations are high as hell, and many can agree, that they have too.
P.S: You just helped me to consider this game as a next buy. But Driver SF first.
~”Dr Butcher”, haha ur a noob, I finished the game on normal and I don’t think the difficult is much… If you are a newbie, just play on easy… And anyway a game that u just finish easily without dying a single time, it’s not a good game, and gets boring. The difficult on this Deus EX is perfect…
I was tired of games and this was the first game in a few time that made me really play into it, I hacked almost every single computer on the game, just not the big room on the cops headquarters because there is a lot of people, but all other computers on cops station, I hacked them all. I had to knock down almost all cops just to hack every computer
.
I think I have also been everywhere, I really enjoyed the game…
BUT, it kinda sucked on the weapons, for an RPG it was awesome if it had a lot of weapons. Like how good it was if we would find something from the past hidden somewhere, like an Good Old AK47…
Also I saved the tranquilizer rifle since the begining to the end, because i was hopping there would be a mission where u couldn’t make noise, but u can just start shooting on every god damn mission, that u dont even need the tranquilizer rifle that eats a lot of space. It was cool for this kind of RPG, to have one or two ninja missions that we couldn’t really be detected or we would lose…
ps: Im now playing Deus Ex – Invisible War on the pc with a gamepad and HD textures from the community
Keep Cool !!!
Oh and on pc the loadings are waaayyy better.
Good made in Quebec game.
Damn I knew that game would be awesome! I love the Deus Ex Series, loved the original. I cant wait to play that game,Im gonna be stuck on it for days lol
Man that first boss fight with the Gatling-gun handed mercenary freaked me out. I shot him in the head with the assault rifle countless times, I threw grenades, shot him with sniper rifle and he didn’t dye…Later on my dad killed him and I realized I’ll never be able to kill him because I don’t have ONE FRICKEN EMP!!! -.-”
Well, that’s where I gave up ’cause I hate games that piss me off instead of entertaining me.
Use the environment.
This game rewards you for thinking (even during boss fights).
All the bosses can be ridiculously easy.
i meant to say kicked ass sorry about that
this game kicked but u are right Joe like always it does get an 8 from me
Joe, need a Dead Island review ASAP. People need to know not to buy that piece of shit game. I cant believe I actually spent money on it.
Quickly Joe, before more people suffer.
Oh, wow, people actually thumbed you up for saying that and gave the guy who complained about the Barret boss battle some serious thumbs downing shit. Honestly, this is where I cross the line, maybe Dead Island didn’t work out for you, but I have over 8 friends I play it with and continue to enjoy with. Most of the reviews highly recommend the game and it is well worth your money in both content and replay ability. If your from England I can understand the hate because ALL of the U.K game reviewing sites and magazines actively attack the game because… IDK the cool aid man is red?
No reviewer is highly recommending the game. Big sites like IGN and Gamespot are giving it a 7. If they are giving the game a 7, I dont see Joe giving it higher than a 5 or 6. The game is incomplete, just like Brink and you would have the same amount of fun playing any other game with 8 buddies.
IGN is crap and gave them an 8 idiot, and Gamespot never gave the most accurate reviews in the first place.
Listen to these:
TeamXbox 9 / 10
ImpulseGamer 8.5 / 10
ZTGameDomain 9 / 10
Planet Xbox 360 9.1 / 10
Game Informer 8.5 / 10
Official Xbox Magazine 8 / 10
Gametrailers 8.5 / 10
GameShark B
Games Xtreme 8.8 / 10
Giant Bomb 4 / 5
By your logic these reviews, and using the same empirical strategy you used using only bad or average scores from only TWO reviewers (One of which was incorrect), it IS a good game and you’re a bias G-Tard. They also just patched it, basically making it twice as good to play, especially with friends. (Which it was meant to be played by)
If you know what Empirical means I’ll give you more credit than people like you deserve.
The biggest problem, in my opinion, was probably Squeenix’s financial setbacks with the commercial failure that was the recent Final Fantasy game. While they don’t outright say it, it’s obvious from interviews that many things needed to be cut from the game to make the budget.
Yeah PC is Still way better one of the many reasons why i’m a pc gamer
Iam one of your many followers. haha
Joe nice review i love them all.
Now how about a dead island video!!!!!!!!!!!

i hope one day spoony will get to review final fantasy 27
You didn’t get the idea behind oposing this technology Joe?
REALLY?
I guess you missed allot of background story of this game.
Next time read everything about the technology throughout the game’s hundreds of notepads+emails.
If I’m not mistaken, the fact was that the augmented people became dependent on an expensive drug so their body wouldn’t reject it. That and the non-augmented people were paranoid about everyone turning into ‘robots’.
For me totaly a 9 out of 10 and a Badass of Approval, too. Anyway: It’s good to have reviews back.
cool gloves Joe
The game is a 9-9,5 for me because when you start it you dont want it to end.The story, score ,characters, and some conections tha it had with the first Deus Ex puts the game on top.The only thing that was not as expected was the graphics, and some minor bugs. And im talking about the ps3 version.
Good job,as always Joe!
About never seeing people stealing augmentations…
*Warning spoilers ahead*
If you fail to save malik you see her head cut open for augmentation in tongs hideout.
Love your site. Your the one reviewer that actually doesn’t throw out 9′s and 8′s like it aint shit. You seem to have a big fondness towards open world games. Deus Ex is one of the best games I ever played and I was hoping you would give it a nine but to each is own. BTW thank you far calling Fable 3 the garbage it truely is
insert any anti-feminist joke here
Jensen beating up hoes
Great review as always Joe. But i have to ask, are you going to do Dead Island review? Would be great to know what you think about the game.
digital pc verion is 20E
They oppose it, because such implants would make it possible to follow you and know where you are and what you are doing at every given moment.
Good review, and I’m gonna put some spoilers in this comment, but I did have one nitpick with it. There might not have been someone alive having their augmentations ripped off of them during the game, but you DID get to see some augmentation scavenging first hand in two very impactful ways. Granted both are by the Harvesters, but that’s kind of what they do, eh? If you fail to save Malik and sprit to the elevator as fast as possible, you see her executed right in front of you. You later find her corpse on table and her neural hub removed. Pretty brutal and meaningful if you ask me. The other is in the same hideout when you discover Tong has aquired Sevchanko’s arm. It’s not quite as heavy compared to Malik, but it is kind of weird seeing the arm of someone you knew attached to someone else who scavenged it.
Only an 8.0? Lame..
Nice review but I was expecting atleast nine because you didn’t have any major complaints about this game. Usually reviewers mention the boss fights to be major bad thing, but still they gave it nine. I myself didnt like boss fights at all because im non-lethal stealth type player. But afterwards I dont keep em as major complaint. I would give this game 9 or nearly 10. Game of the year for sure. Only Skyrim can take that title away. But after watching latest videos from Skyrim, it seems that its not going to happen.
PS: Joe, maybe you should start reviewing PC versions because they are almost everytime superior?
As always, great review! I can only speak for the PC version and aside from the long loadtimes, there were a lot of bugs. Most of them, inc the loadtimes, have been patched to where they are not an issue anymore.
This game, to me, was a really great experience. I had a blast playing through it. My major issue though is the bosses. They force you to play a certain style and if you are the no-killing type, you are gonna be abit dissapointed. The agumentation system is a great example of how to streamline somethings in a good way as opposed to dumbing something down.
As being one of thoses that played Deus Ex over and over, this game gets both thumbs up for not repeating the failure that the “other” game did.
Ten sam werdykt co w drugim wiedźminie
Nie zaśmiecaj komentarzy polskimi wypowiedziami człowieku !! Jeśli nie znasz angielskiego to proszę nic nie pisz.
Do not trash the comments with polish statements, man !! If you don’t know English don’t write anything please.
Good review!
The few gripes I have with this game is that the hardest difficulty setting is far too easy. The only really difficult time is the first boss battle if you don’t have Typhoon. Once you pick the Typhoon Augmentation up + the heavy damage upgrade, everything is stinkingly easy. NB: I’ve gone through the game twice. Once without Typhoon and once again with. On hardest, which felt more like “Medium +”.
Some of the agumentations are pretty lackluster and you won’t even be glancing in their direction (hacking fortify, I’m looking at you).
Other than that, I think it’s great. 8/10 is well deserved. Just hope the new DLC will fix some of the augmentations and general gameplay as well as give us new stuff to explore.
Good one Joe.
I got one additional complain – game says that it likes you to try to be creative, but on one mission, when I tried to bypass hall full of soldiers, I moved fridge outside, throw it 4-6 meters on the roof, and tried to use it so I can jump over the fence – my face hit invisible wall :/
As for weapons – my fav is revolver with explosive ammo, two additional ammo capacity and one damage up. Great for everything
(Well, maybe not stealth)
Great review Joe, as always. I really want to pick this one up. It is probably t he best thing that Square Enix has put out this generation
Damn, Joe really hates prostitutes. Between showing us him beating and murdering prostitutes, saying “ewww, prostitutes,” and complaining that one of the love interests is really promiscuous from his Dragon Age II review, I’m starting to think Joe is afraid of sex.
Hey Joe, are we going to see more Movie reviews?
you should really consider installing most games to X-box anyway Joe, at least the ones you are currently playing. It helps with most games load times, and also greatly decreases the strain put on you disk drive (making wearing out your box less likely).
Oh, I have been waiting for this review.
I’ve been on the fence about buying this game; I knew the atmosphere was going to be one-of-a-kind amazing, but I wasn’t sure what to expect from the gameplay. Looks incredible.
I’m surprised the story lacked in gravitas, though, since the general themes of the game seem so revolutionary and dark. You’d think the developers would take every chance they could to thrust you into the heart of the revolution and show it’s grisly effects first-hand, rather than mention the action off-screen and show the aftermath.
Anyways. Great review, Joe. As always. You really out-did yourself with the effects on this one.
Thanks!
Great review, Joe. Man, your reviews are getting better and better… When is the Space Marine review coming out?
Badass review Joe!
I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I have.
Great review as always Joe! The effects with your eye were pretty cool.
Joe is the best…
Thank GOD!!! A NEW ANGRY JOE REVIEW!!! AMAZING LIKE ALWAYS
