I have to Agree with Joe, There are a lot of disappointing aspects that this game that i was looking forward to. all those ads and everything got me so pumped for an awesome experience and we got none of that. the 6 months of recovering from the newly added augmentations, never seen. But it’s still a damn good game and one that I can’t stay mad at, though I’m still kinda pissed. Oh well.
Hey joe,
Excellent review though I am surprised you never mentioned the entire forcing the player to kill the bosses. I loved the game aside from that one point. I wanted to play Adam Jensen as a pacifist as their is an achievement for that as well but the whole killing bosses thing did not make sense to me.
As well my character in the first play through had no offensive weapons when I fought the first boss and I find that also disappointing where the game forced you to get one, or take one that they leave scattered around the level for you to pick up when you are fighting the boss.
Aside from that one con, as I said I loved the game. Keep up the excellent work.
Ugh I can’t believe I just used their instead of there… Wish there was an edit button to fix that heh…
Another solid review Joe, I have this game but haven’t been on it much since I also have Madden 12 which I have been playing a ton of, but yeah man keep up the good work and please do a review of the new Batman game next month.
Great Review Angry Joe. Glad to know the evil forces of Corperate keep their evil hands off this game! Lord Igos263 over & out ANGRYJOE SIR!!
You should have beaten up the dancer too. XD But it’s definitely SE style if there are story scenario’s missing and limited travel.
Wait, I thought everyone installed games in the Hard Drive to avoid heat increase in the system and thus prevent red ring?…..Yeah, my knowledge in technology alone stinks; still learning.
Well, at least this game is making me put faith in Square Enix again. Good review, Joe!
I’m a big fan of your show, and I’m getting into film making. Take a gander if you please!

I took my time with the entire game, looked in every nook and cranny. They put LOTS of Easter Eggs in the game, like a toaster in an empty bath tub for example. Things that would make you notice the extreme attention to detail on every inch of each zone. For that reason, I can see why they might be more eager to release a sequel and include more in-depth features on a follow-up. They wanted a well polished gaming experience for your first impression, to know that quality was the name of the game.
For graphics, my PC version looked 100x better than the XBox graphics, and the load times were maybe 6-8 seconds. I also got it as part of a promotion so I could buy a brand new video card for 50 bucks off, theoretically. Highly recommend that.
In the following version, one thing I’d like to see is less “GET TO THE CHOPPA! WE GOT A NEW ZONE!” and more… I don’t know… Jensen falls off a waterfall, cut scene is cool, and then you’re in a jungle with nowhere to go. I think the “Shuttle Bus” constantly bringing you around just makes it less tense and more like a theme park. But again, the attention to detail makes it much more than that. Or a damn good theme park at least.
Another change… I’d like it if killing certain people changed the likability of your character, so it felt less linear. Like if you’re faced against a group of citizens at a riot (which you aren’t), but if you knock them out as opposed to killing them, then new dialogue options are unlocked. Otherwise, knocking people out is pointless. Maybe make it so it leaves blood behind too if you kill someone, so that there’s a reason for knocking them out.
And finally, I personally thought even on the highest difficulty without cloaking or sight augmentations, that it was WAY too easy. Maybe that’s because I did load the game often, but the load times were less consequential for the PC version. Still, I would’ve liked it if I actually had to use my knockout grenades. Making NPC routes change within a set pattern would’ve been more enjoyable too, so I would have to think on my feet. And more importantly, making it so there was like 2 seconds before one guy calls for backup would also be good, since it doesn’t make much sense that he sees me for half a second before I taser him, and suddenly everyone knows I’m there.
Overall, great game. It waslike knocking a golf ball right into the middle of the fair way. I couldn’t put it down at all until I finished it. I’ll be interested in seeing their follow-up on the sequel.
By the way, if you read this, Joe, the reason they may have left a lot of gory detail out of the game, at least in their initial reboot of this franchise, is to reach a wider audience. Like in Japan, they had to cut a lot of things from the game that was considered ‘unacceptable’ by them. One being a room inside the sewer area under The Hive where you can find a dildo, tissues, and a computer behind a breakable wall.
If the audience is considerably larger in the US compared to other more sensitive countries, you might see sex and violence become a greater selling point to it. Kind of like The Witcher 2. Although I know you’re talking more about the lack of a riot where there should’ve been one. I was really expecting to jump into something fierce there, and nothing was happening. Just more idle citizens standing around blocking my way so I had to do hurdles over them. Who knew my Jump aug would be best suited for handling a riot.
Just beat the game this weekend, and it’s really excellent. Mostly agree with the review. Even on the PC, the load times are frustrating (I haven’t played it on a console, so I don’t know how much worse they are there).
Excellent job man! Love the review, loved the game. Can’t wait for the HD remake of Deus Ex! (It’ll happen.)
Great review, best I’ve seen in a long time
Hey Joe, do you plan on making a top 5 reasons Batman: Arkham City will kick ass?
if you do, it will solidify you to me as the greatest reviewer ever.
Great review, Joe.
Except for one thing.
Violence against noncombatants in general isn’t particularly funny to me. Okay, the pimp-slapping to Smack My Bitch Up is a little funny in that lizard-brain, I-shouldn’t-laugh-at-this-but-I’m-going-to-anyway kind of thing. Skewering them as they run away screaming in fear isn’t.
I’m not saying the option shouldn’t have been included in the game. Experimenting and finding how much the designers thought to include is part of being a gamer. I just don’t think it’s funny, as it crosses a line. Now, if you had a rocket launcher and had pulled it out and blown her apart, that would have crossed the line, then gone around the world and crossed it again and it would be funny once more. The stabbing is just too…murderously efficient, I guess.
DO SPACE MARINE !!!
YOU SAID YOU WERE GONNA!!!
So…no badass seal of appoval???
Oh god, theres gonna be a Final Fantasy XXVII (27)? The future is doomed for all of us.
i live in montreal last week eidos montreal open his door to their fans to sign game and opther merch form the game for the fans for free, it was so nice from them i drink a beer with all the team of deus ex

2011 is a great year to be a gamer!
After this, we still have all of November to look forward to!
Yo Joe! This guy really wants to meet you! http://www.indiegogo.com/Keep-First-Drop-Alive?a=252211&i=addr
He’s an independent journalist and needs help funding his website BUT he says you’re one of his inspirations and wants to talk to you!
I got this already its sweet very worth it. Good review. Do a space marine review been wanting to see that one.
I’d easily give this game a 9 xP
The only flaw i could find with it was the Boss fights.. Suddenly stocking all non-lethal weapons, no explosives and hacking chips seems less useful. Give us other options please game.
Best game out this year? unlikely, Best game out so far this year? HELL YES!
What about the ending , it lets you pick one of the 4 ending s….that sooooo LAME!! and why is the first boss the hardesst and the final boss so easy
SPiOILER!!!!
just shoot the laser rifle straight trough the window (LAME!!!)
LoL, here is Barret fight with no bullets fired:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVe2Jlq4FiE
First of all I wanna say the black gloves are a lil tackey
However, great review i agreed with about 90% of it except for it being slow at parts. I just viewed it as an opportunity to fool around, however my playstyle is diffrent and im also extremely forgiving of all games ever…. either way kudos!!!!!!!
Nice review. I’ve been looking forward to this game for a while…haven’t read any negative reviews yet…I’ll definitely check it out now.
I just want to say SORRY to everyone.. for my previous comment and bad review of this brilliant game.. I didn`t mean to hurt anybody`s feeling… and I feel terrible if I did that… SORRY once again.. This game is amazing! One of the best ever made… Cheers
Excellent review Joe. You hit pretty well all the points you needed to it. This is a damn fine game. The story is good, the characters are good, the graphics, sound and voice acting are all good. Multiple ways to play, the social battles are a challenge, the gunplay is….decent.
Although, I’m surprised at one thing. I definately thought this would get the “Bad Ass Seal of Approval”.
It’s fun to see how much you seem to like doing reviews, Joe. =) And yeah, great review! I haven’t played through the whole game yet but I really like it so far.
Great Review for an Excelent game. And as always FAIR on
both sides: Negative and Good points…
I’m buying it.
KEEP IT ANGRY…”;(
i would have agreed with alot of the negative sides ive heard about the game, if i hadnt played the first one.
But to be honest, after playing this game a few times exploring everythign i could possibly find, it strikes me that this game is a tribute to DX1 fans and the game itsself then anything else.
All the small detalis is almost overwhelming and personally i find the HR to even suffer from the same things i didnt like about the first game (albeit few).
That being said. In the end i fell in love with the shortcommings and the positives…and the game did its true porpose on my behalf. The same yet the next step.
And one last thing, for a game develpoer having nothing to do with the previous game internally, creating a game with this high rate of fanservice while still being of hig productionvalue. IS RARE.
DO NOT flame it. We moan about bad games all the time, heck AJ started his populartiy reviewing bad games…the intention of this game is the exact opposite of that, And we have to show that what they are doing is right.
Nitpicking can come later, when the mainstream has played the heck out of it.
Iam one of your many followers. haha
Joe nice review i love them all.

What!!!
Its the best Zombie Game in 2011!
Haha pls take note i mean Zombie game! =D
I aready played the game, haha but i want see how Joe thinks about it.
Joe what say you?
We have to torture Joe through a Dead Island review, mouhahahahhaha!
I bought it, wished i could call in an ion cannon on that game. I hate it so, its broken and so many things they messed up, sure if you want a yet another mindless zombie shooter i guess you could buy it when the price goes down, but i wouldt ask anyone to buy it. Its broken, glitchy, unpolished. Misleading trailer, as it does not have any real storyline. The characters are forgetable, and i could care less about them, i mean you can even CLIP through walls/character models with your weapons/hand, thats not forgivable with todays technology, i had a really funny laugh though driving around the car, trying to find more funny glitches to laugh at.
Haha
I agree is glitchy expacily when u press Y on the Pc. lolx
k all I see is “dance circus monkey dance”…cmon guys no need to be pushy
Anyone who thinks the story, endings, and characters were any good needs to be slapped with a brick.
The characters had zero characterization, with Malik being the only character that came even close to making me care about her. Dr Reed? We learn nothing about her. The Bosses? Nope. They’re just evil mooks who are out to get Jensen just because. The villain at the end might as well be from a Bond film, actually, no, because Bond villains were developed better.
Then there’s the endings. None of them reflect anything Jensen did in the game, and they are all pointless. If you’re going to make them all lead into Deus Ex DON’T MAKE MULTIPLE ENDINGS. It is mind-boggling how lazy, unfulfilling, and pointless the endings are.
And the story? Yeah it’s interesting. Until about the halfway point, then it just takes a dive off of a cliff, and not into water. It skims over seemingly important things (like the who the main bad guy is), and assumes you will go hack every computer you can, read every email, and read every eBook. Well, that’s absolutely ridiculous. Don’t make me read random things I might miss, SHOW THEM TO ME. You can’t drop plot points in hidden books. And one of the “bad guys,” called Belltower? You learn NOTHING about them until you return to Hengsha or wherever. They are the MAIN ANTAGONIST. Yet for some reason I knew NOTHING about them. Jesus, even Mass Effect 2 gave us some motivation for the bad guys. And the Illuminati? Yeah have fun hearing that one line about them, then not have them mentioned, unless you happen to load a save, and you can look through what you’ve accomlished, accompanied by some summary text, which just goes ahead and assumes that the Illuminati are behind everything. Why? Is that SINGLE line supposed to mean that they’re behind everything? You don’t do that. There was zero evidence before the line, then zero evidence after that line was said.
As for the gameplay, having to hack everything is just dumb. It’s point you are required to spend on something that shouldn’t be required. The energy system? Damn it sucks. I just love having to carry massive jugs of energy juice/bars with me everywhere I go. It takes up no inventory space, so I mean… oh wait, it takes up tons of inventory space. What reason is there as to why you can’t regen evergy past the first bar? None. Zero. Just because. You know. It is a terrible decision, and whoever thought it was a good idea also needs a brick-slap. Just with a foam brick. they need to be alive in order to learn the lesson. And the almost forced stealth? Yeah unless you’re playing on the lowest diffculty, have fun shooting everything. You get far more exp for stealthing than gunning, and more for hacking than not hacking.
Choice? I see none. At least, none that matter. Except for saving Malik, which was one of the best parts of the game.
Oh yeah, and the boss fights are retarded. Because stealth players definitely have the ammo and combat augmentations to kill a boss with craptons of health.
Again, just showing what a terrible gamer you are. You can win each boss fight WITHOUT guns. Learn to play.
Actually, I beat the first and second bosses without using guns (mostly) on my first playthrough. During the Barret fight, I didn’t think that my bullets were affecting him, so I started throwing things at him. I noticed the gas containers, threw those at him, and bam, Barret down. The next fight I assumed the same, that she would not really be affected by my bullets, so I shot the things on the wall (the things that cause the floor to become electricity), and only shot her after I ran out of wall things to shoot. For the third boss, I did use guns exclusively, mainly because I couldn’t find any other way to defeat him. And the final boss in the Broadcast center? Yeah I’m fairly certain you have to use guns to break the glass and kill ol’ not-a-good-villain.
I do know how to play. The boss fights are just dumb and poorly executed. Read this: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/experienced-points/9122-Experienced-Points-Deus-Ex-Boss-Fights
He points out everything that is wrong with the boss fights. But I think I’ll drive the point home, just in case you don’t want to read this. After defeating the second boss (the random ninja girl whose name we never learn and motivations we never discover), she’s lying on the floor, bleeding out rapidly. The AI asks “are you going to save her?” And Adam just says “maybe.” Meanwhile I am attempting to play a kill as few people as possible Jensen, and am yelling “WTF stop talking you dumbass mook pick her up so she stops bleeding out. Well by now she’s dead” camera pans over “yup, she’s dead. F**k you Adam.” That is officially where I started realizing the many flaws in this game.
The first one can indeed be finished by using the containers.
You can lure the second boss to the generators. She will explode those by herself (do this for all four, and you won’t need any bullet, grenade, etc.)
You can finish the third one with a perfectly timed melee punch, but this might be a bug (right after he jumps over a wall).
Haven’t yet figured out the fourth one.
About that article. I kind of agree with his first point. I obviously disagree about his second, because like I said, you CAN finish them without gunplay.
No idea why I got thumbs down for that comment.
Didn’t realize there was another page.
Will read through that later on.
Go back to playing Call of Duty, troll!
Really? Because I dislike a game I’m a troll? Not everyone has to agree with Joe’s reviews. I usually do, but this game was a letdown for me.
Also, Call of Duty is not a good game, and the Team Deathmatch mode in Blops is so broken it isn’t even payable. Hardcore TDM is a bit better, but only barely.
I think you need to play trough the game again, the story was very well explained, I had no problem understanding it all, belltower, the illuminati all explained.
You don’t have to hack there are just about always another way without hacking and the rest is just bonus information, in many cases you can find logins laying around, unrealistically often, IT-admins asking users to mail him their new password or mails with password (would never happen!) on personal secretaries and so on…
I won’t say the game is without it’s flaws though, I agree about the energy system, they should just have let all the bars recharge (maybe a bit slower than the first) not just the first and the rest by nutrients.
The boss battles where horrible and I honestly beleive the game would have been better without, heck wouldn’t surprise me if they weren’t supposed to be there to begin with but square enix forced them in.
And then there are the cities, with empty streets that are only wide enough for bicycles, detroit in particular felt weird with it’s small narrow streets (the alleys where as big as the streets ffs) and really odd layout.
All in all it’s one if the better games I’ve played in the last few years thanks in large part to the coice acting which was great, the conversations as joe said really felt like conversations, it felt real to me in a way, not like it was acted :p
I played through the game twice, and I did understand a bit more the second time around, but it still doesn’t change my opinion of the story.
The way that the story glosses over certain things (like the illuminati and Belltower) isn’t good. Sure they say things like “the illuminati are behind EVERYTHING!!!!!!” (not in those exact words) and then offer no evidence to support the claim. You are supposed to assume things with very little evidence, which I don’t like doing. It’s like your going through the game, finding things out, and all of the sudden they hit you with belltower and the illuminati for a quick second. They basically say “here are the bad guys, they’re evil” and then they give you zero motivation for Belltower, or the mercs who took the scientists, and they expect you to just accept the fact that the illuminati are behind everything. That is fine. I could accept that. But why don’t we find any real concrete evidence?
As for hacking, you don’t have to hack everything, but you get far more exp than if you didn’t. Sure, you could punch through the wall, and heck, using passwords you find nets you a total of NO exp, so I ended up hacking consoles and things I had the passwords for, simply for the exp.
I was simply disappointed in how the game turned out. I will admit, aside from the energy bars I did have a blast with the gameplay (the second playthrough I was on the lowest difficulty and the blew everything up), the story and the characters were just lacking. And the endings.
I can’t believe I just used your instead of you’re. This needs and edit function.
Or an edit function. Triple post? I say yes.
“And the almost forced stealth? Yeah unless you’re playing on the lowest diffculty, have fun shooting everything. You get far more exp for stealthing than gunning, and more for hacking than not hacking.
“Oh yeah, and the boss fights are retarded. Because stealth players definitely have the ammo and combat augmentations to kill a boss with craptons of health. ”
Stop being bad. People have gone through the game on the hardest difficulty level with stealth toons without any issues. I’ve done it easily. If you don’t want to fight bosses for long periods of time, pick up Heavy Damage Typhoon augmentation. No more annoying bossfights. Yes, you can still have it as a Stealth toon.
I dont agree at all, though i respect your oppinion
I played it through on Bring me Deus ex, and its the first Deus Ex for me. I got blown away by the details, and that you can read about so much thats going on in the world. Sure i noticed that it seemed as if they were running out of time towards the end, but its a great game imo. Skyrim though, cant wait for that.
In the end i guess its basicly up to what you thought the game was going to be, i thought Adam reminded me a great deal about Solid Snake lol, but i liked the characters and how you could run the missions, and on the Bring me Deus ex, gunfights gets fun, as you have to use your brain when you face mulitple enemies.
The main bad things about this game though, is that i would also wanted to see more about the Detroit riots, and better animation / cutscenes, those are subpar. But then again, the voiceacting makes up for it, atleast for me. Loved this game, and now i await the next Deus ex
So you want them to spoon-feed the story, you want regenerating energy, and you think hacking is stupid. What are you doing with Deus Ex again? If anyone needs to be slapped with a brick it’s you.
You don’t HAVE to take those big energy jars around. There are smaller energy bars as well. And you can spend points to enlarge your inventory.
Isn’t regenrating health enough? Regenerating energy would’ve only made it easier.
There is no forced stealth. Yes, it gives more exp than killing everyone. But when you do go stealth, you might miss out on things you won’t otherwise (computers, hidden items, etc near patrolling enemies).
The rest of your rant is pretty much subjective. Don’t agree about the story at all.
Maybe you should be playing Call of Duty, instead of this?
I don’t want to spoil anything, but there’s a very nasty scene regarding Malik and the group that steals augmentations. The room is kind of hidden, but it really gives you the feeling Joe was talking about.
This scene is really one of the best in the game, because it provides a real consequence if you don’t save Malik. I thought that it was a brilliant little addition to the story, and it made me hate the Harvesters and Belltower with a passion. If the game had been more like that I would have been a far better game.
Keep that pimp hand strong JOE, keep it STRONG!
Well Joe, why would anyone oppose augmentations? Watch the “purity first” trailer. That got me scared and kind of supporting the purists. I’m dead serious.
I heard about that “not so good graphics” but you say the PC Version is better? Hm then i might buy the Mac Version when its released. Still i think its not going to be as good as The Original One ( still a lot better then 2 though)
… this guy just gets gaming. Just knows what gaming is all about. Still the best game reviewer on the planet.
Joe, why would you play this game on a console? :\ stop playing games on 360 only lol.
I played the game on the PC and load times are hardly an issue there, most of the time it would load faster than I was able to read the previous mission summary.
Joe mentions ammo shortage. Not true. I played on the “give me DeusEx” difficulty setting and always had enough ammo at hand. Also praxis kits are too easy to get or the game rewards you too much with it. At the end I had most of the augmentations enabled to their max. Less would have been better to force the player in to really choosing what he wants and what play stile he preferres.
Where the game falls short is the ending. Unlike The Witcher 2, were the Finale is essentially the sum of your choices, DeusEx: Human Revolution will present you with four buttons to choose the worlds fate from, regardless of what you did before. I found that to be a major let down.
Also the plot twist near the ending felt like it was forced on to the game. Only a little hint is given before and this only if you manage to convince the involved NPC to tell you about it. The major conspiracy of news and crowd manipulation concerning all involved, and especially the role of Picus TV is underplayed. IMHO the game should have focused on the Picus / Tai Young plot and spare the remaining revelations for later games. But thats my take on it.
Overall a great game and worthy successor, or more precisely predecessor to DeusEx.
Like Joe I’d give it 8/10
I absolutly LOVE this game, sure its got minor flaws like the load time, graphics and some scetchy voice acting, but if i were to give this game a rating on how much fun i had with it i would say 10/10 ! ! !
but realisticly 8/10 is more accurate.
this was one of those games that i wanted more of even after i finished it (twice).
its nice to have a refreshing new stealth style of FPS instead of the standard point and shoot run, and gun strategy even playing the game on its hardest difficulty was very enjoyable. not too tough but more challange than normal, not like other games (far cry 2) where playing on the hardest difficulty is exactly what it implies, INSANITY… the only hard part would be the bosses like you said if you are not prepared then it can be quite brutal.
Hello AngryJoe.
AngryJoe if u look at my old post. I ask the fans if they want to see you do a dead island review.
I ask your fans to like it if they want see you do a dead island review.
and fromlast i check around 25 people liked.
my post had the most like to pls pls pls Joe!!!
!!!!!DO IT!!!!!
dead island was so full of bugs and glitches for the 360, and a friend of mine told me it was pretty bad for PC too. not to mention its other flaws which it has a lot of. i personaly would love to see joe rip it a new one.
Shut the fuck up about Dead Island. If Joe wants to do a review of it, he will. But he won’t if you keep spamming the comments section with “OMG PLZ REVIEW DEAD ISLAND~!”
Seriously, just, stop it.
Nice!
Looking forward to the WH 40K: Space Marine review.
I was disappointed by the games endings they are not as good as the other game.
Most excellent review Joe.
I like how you mentioned Human Revolutions visual design. Many seem to overlook it. It always bothered me a little that the previous Deus Ex games had all the traits of cyberpunk, but didn’t look the part. Most of that can be attributed to technological limitations, but still. Now it’s this moody yellow and black neo-noir universe that reminds me of Bladerunner and Ghost In The Shell, both of which I adore. It feels a lot more realized, and like you, I want to see more of this world. Learn more about it.
I agree on most of your criticisms, but what bothers me most is the character development of quite a few key characters. There barely is any. Especially the bosses. Who are these people? What are their motivations? They just show up and try to kill you like any other faceless mook. Compare to Gunther Hermann from the first game. You get to know him and turns out he’s a likable guy. After all, who could hate his preference for orange soda or skull-guns? See what I mean? We know what kind of soda he likes!
But the worst offender is your ex, Dr. Reed. Finding out what happened to her is essentially Adam’s main motivation and we’re supposed to care about her, but she is barely in the game in any form. Give us reason to care. And don’t tell us, show us. Put a picture of her in Adam’s apartment that you can interact with, for example. Adam could pick it up and watch it for a few moments. Something simple, but if done right, it could work wonders.
I’m suprised you didn’t go over the diologue system more in depth. It’s like Alpha Protocol if it was done right.
My boy busted out the Prodigy!!!
DEUS EX: Human Revolution is extremely OVERRATED game!
BAD SIDES:
- the graphic for 2011 year is average.. 4,5
- FPShooter is even more below … 3,0
- AI totally disappointing…. 2,0
- Atmosphere feels plastic all the time… 4,0
- Physics like in a tetris… 3,5
- Hacking annoying mini game…. 1,0
- Orange color design after a while make my headache… 3,0
- Long loading … 4,0
- Boring and repetitive stealth … 6,0
- Bosses Duke Nukem type.. 4,0
GOOD SIDES:
- RPG system is OK… 7,0
- Story not bad … 8,0
OVERALL: 4.1
Your an idiot.
If I am an idiot I would LOVE this game
I agree with alot in this comment. The game is overhyped and overrated.
I would like to add a few points:
-The main character has no personality and tries way too hard to be a badass.
-The voice acting don’t impress at all and the conversations are boring.
-It’s pretty obvious that DEUS EX: Human Revolution is meant to play stealth-style and you get punished for trying to play it in another way. The protagonist is about as tough as a 12-year-old school girl and you get less xp for shooting your way through.
-The graphics ain’t average for 2011. Some games 5-6 years old has better graphics.
-I never felt engaged in the story.
All in all I think the game is painfully average. Not exelling in any aspect.
5/10 from me
I should do a review on your horrible grammar.
I should do a review on your mom
Well you know what? My list would look something like this:
BAD SIDES:
- the graphic for 2011 year is average
- Bosses are completely distanced from entire game(but at the end kinda feels good to kill them), last boss is disappointment
-Energy bar could regenerate above one battery, now you have to stack up with energy bars
GOOD SIDES:
-Character customization through praxis
-Punishing fights (when attacking frontally) are compelling, not too good as fps, but nice as cover tps
-Hacking is cool, especialy using computer mouse
-Loading is ok (PC baby)
-Many ways to the same target (minus for having some invi-walls)
-OK story
-Interesting guard animation when on patrol
Final: 7,5
I’m simply speechless. Everything I expected came true, and I was very worried as the game was, at first, nothing like what I expected, but it effectively grew on me and the result was exactly as you described in the review… one thing still perplexes me, where is the Badass seal of approval Joe?! Or did you mention it and I sound stupid right now… to lazy to check, ah well
what I meant by the way people about everything I expected coming true was that it was a fun, and enjoyable game, sorry if it confused some.
I appreciate your reviews!
One thing in regard to this particular review is your appreciation of the boss fights. I agree! There’s been a lot of complaints across the net about them, but I found it to be a refreshing change of pace and pretty much all of them rewarded thinking beyond the obvious.
Not really, a fully upgraded Typhoon can easily take them out with two shots in most cases. No skill or thinking required. Hell, you can even one-shot one of them if you use an exploit.
great review Joe! I wonder what Spoony thinks of Final Fantasy XXVII? (lol)
Welp we’ll have to wait 16 or so years to find out, right? FORESHADOWING!!!!
No one should care what Spoony thinks. He’s an idiot.
Great review Joe!
I had this on my list ever since you introduced it to me back at the Top 10 most anticipated games of 2011. I still am, but I wanted to know your point of view before I head off to the nearest gamestore, collecting my own copy of this.
Looking for more reviews in the future-.
