u can,t visit all the squares on the map…maybe 8 or 9 locations..and some are just hubs to the next level
im askin my self the same question
This game reminds me of LotR Conquest, except that it might not be a complete piece of trash. I want LotR spliced with Dragon Age, where there is story, dialogue, quests, currency, etc; not just a shallow, buggy, hack and slash mess of a game. Dragon Age was an awesome game series and the LotR universe is ripe for that type of game, but instead they rejected the idea of putting any effort into LotR and made Conquest, which was probably one of the worst LotR games to ever see production. I hope Pandemic had NOTHING to do with this title, or else it is doomed to fail.
*Looks at Wiki Page”
“Developer(s) Snowblind Studios
Publisher(s) Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment”
No EA? No Pandemic? Nice. It might have a chance at not sucking! That right there makes me want to try out this game.
Aww, don’t be so harsh. Conquest was buggy, sure, and it had some ridiculously overly hard moments, and cheap ones, but it was undeniably fun in some parts. One of my favourite gaming memories is roming through the Shire as Sauron killing hobbits left and right…
something weird about SKYRIM. ITS JUST 6 GBS BIG!!!!
still it will be awesome…
A whole 6 gbs? Oh noes!
That’s like nothing pox. Most games are that size… I have WoW and it’s 29.5gbs… I also have Old Republic… 20gbs. I also have DeadSpace 2 installed(10gbs) and Starcraft 2.(9.9gbs) Who cares about a puny 6gbs? Almost every game is at least 6gbs now… if you can’t do that how can you play any modern game?
His point was its only 6 gigs… which means its small compared to what we would expect for a huge open world game with better graphics then oblivion (my oblivion is 16gigs with texture mods)
Im sure it will be a great game… at least i hope.. been too disappointed lately…
The Lotr franchise shuld have made bfme 3, insted of this.
Lotr bfme2 and the rise of the witch king expansion is the best lotr game. Its also one of the best strategy games i have played.
hey joe I think you should try Third age total war if you have not allready. it is a mod for Medieval 2 total war: kingdoms. I think it is very good game if you like the total war games and you are a fan of lotr. Anyway here is a link if you want to check it out

Later in game the looks of armor changes greatly. after playing 6 hours straight, I’m still at the start of chapter 3 and I have an awesome armor
You guys are approaching it all wrong. It’s a loot based hack and slash rpg like Diablo.
I would never put this game as a contender against Skyrim, but definitely Dark Souls. I have nothing against this game but from what I read it’s only about 25 hours long, which isn’t bad, also the Co-Op is a bonus, and I hear it’s a rewarding game, but comparing it to the 200+ hours I’ve spent on just ONE of my Dark Soul characters and the Hundreds of hours I’ll spend on Skyrim BEFORE the DLCs pop up, than I can’t recommend this as a nominee. I’m sure it’s a good game, I wont deny that, but it’s nothing to get wet over I’m sure.
By “definitely Dark Souls”, I mean Dark Souls is a contender against Skyrim for RPG/GOTY… sorry for not clarifying.
With a friend, any game can become more enjoyable. So that’s a bonus.
And whether that map is true, at least it offers plenty with hours of gameplay.
Probably ain’t worth the full price if you ain’t a hardcore fan of the series. So if I’m bored next summer, I may look back on this and say. Hmm… Maybe.
Thanks for the video though Joe.
Some of us don’t have friends, so a lot of good sacrificing for a co op does us.
The music in the tavern…isnt that Light of Adant (or whatever) that welsh song used in the live action halo ODST trailer?
Hmm last few videos have been really choppy. Anyone else?
An easy fix is pausing the video and let it buffer then play it after it fully buffers.
I know that Joe is using a higher resolution for his videos lately which means it takes more bandwidth while streaming so just be patient and let it fully buffer before you play it and the choppiness you have noticed will disappear.
This game has a 7.5 average on Metacritic, with game informer being the lowest rated. So it’s probably a good game, but nothing special.
From the looks of this gameplay… it just looks like a beat-em-up with RPG elements.

Rating: 5.5 yeah I don’t think so
After I saw the high scoring review for Fable 3, I just stopped taking Game Informer seriously. Or the low scores for such amazing games that deserved more praise then given. Same with IGN.
Joe is one of the few reviewers that I actually trust.
Long live gaming.
Well “professional” game reviewers will highly rate anything that looks pretty in my experience. You take any crappy game and if it looks good, graphics wise, it’s guaranteed to still get a 9 out of 10. They are like Avatar or modern day Star Wars fans. They blindly worship fancy new graphics and effects with almost no regard for anything else. If I read about games they’ve reviewed which I’ve played, they frequently leave out important things, such as the controls, or repetition, and sometimes don’t even mention the plot. Gamespot is probably the worst offender here. Of all the “professional” reviewer sites I’ve used, this one has the most worthless reviews I’ve seen. They barely attempt to hide the fact that their reviews skew in favor of the more advertised games. They basically sell their ratings to the publishers.
I just wanted too state that I have been along time fan of angry joe. I have watched all of his videos and usually agree with most of his opinions and reviews.
This is my first post and zombiemonkey7 has forced me too throw the gloves off and get too business.
Hey zombiemonkey and anyone else that actually takes gameinformers review scores too heart. Do you find it suspicious that gameinformers actual “average” score for a game is 7?
Gameinformer does this so they dont burn there bridges with game companies that pay there salaries.
Now tell me this…
Over the last few months, When the gamestop clerk asked me too reserve a game, It would obviously be a highprofile title. Call of duty, Battlefield, Batman, skyrim, rage. Now when I asked about any other games coming out, specifically any rpg’s with loot. I was told wait for skyrim or pick up darksouls. Not once did I hear a mention of the lord of the rings game.
Which brings me too my next point.! I have seen very few ads, (if any) There has been no signage in gamestop, no mention of the game at all actually. When I came into too buy the game on nov.1,
The gamestop did not even have it on the shelf, I had too ask the clerk!
If I never google’d “xbox360 games coming out november” I would of never even known this game was coming out!.
Which too me means that since the lord of the rings did not wet gamestops greedy hands with advertising money or whatever, Thats why gamestop gave the game a poor review and pretty much shunned the game without even giving it a chance.
Now I am only about 3 hours into the game, and so far it’s been pretty fun especially couch co-op.
I can see where people have complaints, because most of them are legit, I hate having too wait for your party too progress too the next scene, just too kill more enemies, too wait for the next scene. But for all those complaints, I feel like I am smiling when I am playing. Which counts for me!
In conclusion, ZombieMonkey! Iam calling YOU OUT!

Rating: 5.5 yeah I don’t think so
I dont like your smart ass comment, ( Rating: 5.5 yeah I don’t think so) How about you play the game and then decide!
One last thing
Gameinformers rating for………Kane and Lynch 2 Dog Days = 6.0!!!!!!!
4 HOURS LONG
Gameinformers rating for………Lord of the Rings War at North = 5.5 !!!!!!!!
Iam 3 hours in and starting chapter 2.
You decide who gave gamestop more advertising money!.
Thanks and have a good day!
I’m sorry, you make a good point but please FIX YOUR CRAMMER!
You right every “to” as “too”. I’m sorry but it’s distracting and makes your response seem lightly childish.
*Grammar*
*write* lol, I hate this stupid autospell rool I use. Keeps spelling the wrong words!
By no means do I claim to be some kind of grammer expert, maybe it’s the texting or just the keyboard in general that allows me to be lazy and not pay attention. I know that when I write on paper my too’s are usually to’s . lol
And to zombiemonkey,
I guess “smart ass” was a inappropriate response too your statement. I apologize but I feel that before you trust everything the GI says, at least play it a little.
You are right though, $60 dollers is a lot too spend on this game, Now I am not saying that Lord of the Rings is not worth that price point, ( I am not far enough too pass that sort of judgement yet) There’s just so many awesome games coming out that make purchasing a game like this a risk. Especially with the little advertising it recieved.
So I am pretty much ranting now, so happy gaming.
Jeez why didn’t you just bundle your life’s story along with your comment. The point of my comment is that I don’t have $60.00 to spend on any game that comes out especially one that’s just average and because of how many games are out now I really need to be conservative. Apparently this is considered a “smart ass” thing to say and I get the vibe that siksho is one of “those” gamers that think poorly of anybody who buys mainstream games and thinks himself better because he plays games that are under the radar.
Now for the gameinformer part I think it’s kinda unfair to pick out one review and say “THESE GUYS SUCK, WHAT A BUNCH OF ADVERTISEMENT NATZIS” Now there is some reviews I don’t agree with like kane and lynch and ODST, but overall I think their a fair and trustworthy reviewing site (although the ratings scale is assbackwards) I do think AJ is the most reliable reviewer out here, but that doesn’t mean other reviewers scores don’t have merit
Thanks for reading my humble option and feel free to “Call ME OUT!” and send me more of your hate comments
It’s just the large part of their reviews are neglected or fairly biased in a lot of areas. Look at that fuck Matt Helgeson, his reviews are shit and he gives the same rating to almost every game. (I agree that their rating system is just weird as hell
).
I saw your point and even lolled, but I just figured to go ahead and post that Game Informer is just not a source to rely 100% on. Were talking about $60, that’s not exactly cheap. If anything check their review out, then another and so on till you have a good feel about it.
Really, it’s just a personal opinion. But either way, thanks for not getting butthurt about my comment.
awesome video thx joe
