After seeing scantly clad female avatars in this game with Blue Hole (yeah no kidding right?) sexual innuendo suggestive name I somehow compelled to buy this game and say yes. This is very original compared to other mmos…. at least until GW2.
I also played this during the beta (I think it could have been beta 2) and I freaking loved it, only it was only like 2 or 3 days long so when I got into it, it was already over…
so if I wanted to play it ever again, it costs what? $50 and then $15 month? WTF?
its a great game but unless it goes to free to play or less subscription based plan, its not worth my money.
I hate subscriptions plain and simple..
This game is actually a breath of fresh air, the combat system is different, and by different, i mean really awesome! it makes the game more fun to play as you level up. Its not a race to level cap, so you can play the end game content. more so the game is unbelievably Gorgeous, its kinda hard not to make a female Castanic or human..or Highelf haha. other then that, the no talent tree is think is a good idea, replacing it with a glyph system to upgrade certain skills. But honestly the game makes it hard for you to be bad at it, you dont have to map 25 different buttons and press all of them over the course of a fight, its brilliant, the combo system works great! its got my money! and April 28th i will be on!
I’ll tell you what, the review of this game is what got me to pre-order it and really I don’t think I’m going to regret that decision. Yeah, GW2 is coming out but keep in mind that is free to play, so in a way for those of us who like to keep only one MMO subscription this is like having your cake and eating it too.
The gameplay with Tera is amazing though. Every class actually feels unique and not some re-skinned overlay of something WoW does. Melee stays in melee, range stays range etc. With this game, the pvp at least, will actually be more skill based rather than “he who hoards all the pvp gear”.
Correction: Guild Wars 2 is not Free-to-play, since you have to pay for the game itself, rather it’s simply subscription-less. Just because you aren’t paying a subscription doesn’t make the game lesser nor enjoyable for that matter.
I agree the Tera is a nice alternative to the traditional MMO gaming experience and the PvP certainly does look a lot more interesting than WoW’s. As a patron of this MMO style I personally won’t be purchasing it solely on the fact that I want something very different. Granted, I do not think that Tera is a bad game by any means, it’s a highly polished game built on the traditions of MMO gaming with high quality graphics and tactful targeting system that will definitely entice the die-hards of this particular style of MMO. The BAMs are just as they are described and add a Monster Hunter feeling to an epic scale that you can share with your friends.
Tera is very well made game, but with the upcoming release of Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2, it has its share cut out for it and hopefully it won’t be drowned out.
i already pre ordered TERA, and the closed beta test don’t have all features yet like.
RIFT like open world events and the political system which i’m waiting the most.
well yes it’s bit of grindy and PVP-based MMO but it feels and looks amazing
I think i will not buy Tera, since the upcomming release of GW2. and in GW2 there aint no monthly fees.
