WTF?! Street Fighter x Tekken Angry Rant!
WTF? Capcom. Seriously? Shoryuken has discovered that there are 12 Embedded DLC Characters on the Disc for both the Xbox and Playstation 3. Also, the Xbox version is unable to go online with 2 local players for tag team despite the manual stating specifically that it can.
*Note* Mega-Man and Pac-Man who are advertised as PS3 & Vita exclusive are on the Xbox 360 disc. Now, Capcom says that PS3 owners will get this free, while Xbox 360 owners will need to pay. (For content that is already on their disc).
*Note 2* When asked about the No Local Online Co-op for Xbox, Capcom Posted this Response:
360 version: It is NOT possible to mix and match online and offline players for scramble battles and pair play battles. So you either have to have all players be offline and local (so 4 players, 1 xbox) or have all the players be online (4 players, 4 xboxs).
The reason for this difference is because of the architecture differences between gamertags and PSN IDs. I’m not sure of the technical details, but basically it amounts to: Sony made it so you can mix and match online and offline, and Microsoft made it so you can’t.” -Christian Svensson
But then how is this possible for Mortal Kombat? In which you can do exactly that. Is this a Lie from Capcom? A money saving issue? Exclusive Sony Deal? or Microsoft’s Fault? I’ll try to get a straight answer if I ever get to speak with them again.

Joe, you’re using the wrong initialism.
DLC means DownLoadable Content, sure. But Camcom doesn’t do that. They do Disk Locked Content.
Frankly, I’ve just given up on buying Capcom games, whether they use this practise or not. I’m simply not doing it.
Capcom have officially come out and said “There won’t be a Super Street Fighter X Tekken game”, but they said the exact same thing for Marvel Vs Capcom 3. That game had a fundamental feature (ie spectator mode) unavailable and unpatchable and also completely un-do-able in the game (They said it simply wasn’t possible due to how the game worked with 6 players on each side. Laglicious, right?) And then…oh wait, actually we figured out how to make it work! Pay us some more money you little shits.
Capcom is planning to charge for extra quick combos presets in Street Fighter X Tekken:
http://n4g.com/news/955407/capcom-is-planning-to-charge-for-extra-quick-combos-presets-in-street-fighter-x-tekken/com
I’ve honestly just given up on a lot of new games because of their tendency to lean more and more on sprinting forward with making “new and improved” editions and almost insultingly simplistic DLC.
So no, I do not like paying a seemingly endless stream of cash for something that should be included in the basic game. I think the one I’ve had most bad blood with is EA for its policy of grinding games without ever giving much thought for compatibility issues, bugs, etc. and just focusing on making the next big DLC to screw up even more mechanics. No patches, just more product. More fat, less flesh.
Oh and by the way, don’t get me wrong… I know not the entire industry is a bunch of money grabbing swines. My complaints are mostly against Activision, EA and Capcom, who are the ones chocking the life out of gaming, in one form or another (although to EA’s credit, they’ve gotten a bit better…). There are some true heroes out there was well like Bethesda, Arena Net, CD Projekt , Paradox Interactie, 2K Games, etc. I just really hope that the public can wise up and see what’s best for them before it’s too late. Last thing we want is some soulless focus groups deciding on what trends are in right now (Zombies!) and make games on whatever is “cool” at the time (Jersey Shore) with games coming incomplete out of the pack where you essentially have to buy the ending for the game (Hello Ubisoft) or pay for content that should already be available from the start or that would have been unlockable in the PS1/Dreamcast era.
As I said in my previous post, Capocm knows they can get away with this because a market study has shown them how far they can push consumers. It’s time to prove those studies wrong. What really pisses me off about this particular case is that fighting games in particular have always been very different than the rest of games (sans sport games I guess) when it comes to public. This is as nice an audience as it gets. Most people play a fighting game for a couple of rounds and tire out. Few people actually adapt and improve at fighting games beyond button mashing.
It’s been one of my favorite genres ever since the arcade era. Hell, the challenge and adrenaline rush of a well played fighter is something that can only be compared to real life sports I think, without trying to exaggerate. When you lose, unlike FPS games which erupt in this huge burst of anger and insults, in fighting games it’s usually a “OH SHIT, YOU GOT ME”, “WELL PLAYED” or “ONE MORE!”. It’s a genre that has always been, firmly in Capcom’s grip. Guilty Gear/Blaz Blue, King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Last Blade, Arcana Hearts, Melty Blood… These could never really compete with THE KING that is Street Fighter. However, this genre has been dying out ever since the arcade era ended. Tournaments are great, but most people are too shy or too short on time to actually assist the scene (darn shame too). The online element has put a lot of unskilled and rude people in the same place as the honorable and talented ones, so you will get disconnects and hate mail for being a cheater (aka: doing a combo). It’s a fragile genre, and every time Capcom pulls something like this I worry/wonder if this will be the last nail in the fighter’s coffin, you know?
I know that ultimately it’s all about money for these companies, I just hate the fact that front men like Ono or Seth have to smile and lie to our faces when they were probably at one point gamers like us. Sure, they make a juicy paycheck, but hey HAVE to dislike this stuff somehow as well. I mean, they are the ones that get all the backlash when it’s corporate that makes the decisions.
Hey Joe,
I actually have had several discussions about exactly this subject on /v/, /vg/, gametrailers and eventhubs. I’m glad you brought it up, as I share your views completely. I am very worried about the gaming industry at this point. I love it, I really do. It’s been my #1 hobby growing up and when I see what it’s becoming, it scares me. See, this isn’t Capcom doing shit we hate… this is the result of OUR actions.
SF4 into SSF4 was perfect. The right amount of time, it added tons of modes and characters and in general refined the game. The problem started partially right after this. AE comes out and for the price tag, came with surprisingly little amount of content (hooray, another Shoto character). When the disk version came out, instead it being a complete SF4 (AE with the latest patch and all the costumes), instead, it was only the “AE update” which one could download online. Funny thing is though, Capcom proved to us here that characters could be added post-release, something which they would later deny they can do.
MvC3 was the real problem. As we well know, it’s an unfinished game. Hell, I have the collectors edition as a paperweight. The real kicker was them releasing UMvC3 in that short time span with tons of characters which were supposed to be in the original (if you’re interested, I can give you the exact articles on Capcom talking about Ghostrider [lol bike too hard to implement], Frank West [who was already done and cut at the last minute], Strider, etc) and at that had the guts to even admit that UMvC3 was actually going to have MORE characters, but they couldn’t do it because of the deadline (Holiday Season 2011).
Now, what’s the pattern here? People kept on buying. People complained about UMvC3. And Capcom may just have pulled the biggest scam in gaming history which I am terrified of, since other may follow: They announced and confirmed SFxT will NOT have a “super” version (to use their words, there will only ever be a single SFxT disc). Now think about that for a second… …they just shipped Street Fighter 4 with Super Street Fighter 4 on disc. Production and distribution cost is already done and dealt with. MvC3 released in Q1 and got it’s second release in Q4. SFxT will have a Q1 release and a Q3 second release but nobody will whine this time since it will be called DLC. They will effectively have sold the same game twice to consumers, all while making sure people hold on to their discs, minimizing used game sales (and thus potential “losses”).
Instead of keeping consumers with promises of improvements and better content like MK did, they are essentially holding our “fun” for ransom. The 12 characters, as any SF or Tekken enthusiast will tell you, aren’t some random nobodies. They are, for the most part, character we wanted and the community loves (Bryan and Dudley). But then again, these same guys, the victims, the “community” is the biggest cancer here, since they are the ones who fervently defend Capcom. I can see you’ve done quite your bit of debating online yourself since you’re familiar with the “BUT IT HAS HUEG CAST ALREADY!” comment… …others argue that without DLC, these characters wouldn’t exist at all and bla bla bla.
Well, I could go on, and I have a ton more to say, but this comments too big as it is. Anyways, thanks for saying thing like they are Joe, I wish the industry had more people like you. Best of luck and see ya on future AJS videos.
U mad bro?
One question. Why the FUCK would you buy a fighter for the Xbox 360???
Joe, I’m glad you’re on this side of the debate on this issue. There were some that voiced these same issues rearing their head back in 2005/2006 and were ridiculed. So I just said fuck it, even if no one else will stand up for quality business practices in the gaming industry, I will – with my $$ and fuck what anyone says about it.
For me, I just don’t buy the product at all until I see it at a used reduced price. There are so many genres of games I enjoy that I can afford to do this and actually because of this, I end up not even bothering to get the game cause there’s so much more gaming out there.
For instance, Zipper’s SOCOM4. Socom was my most played PS franchise but when the took the direction of mass appeal and CODfied it, totally ignoring the fans that made them in the first place, I spoke with my $$ and didn’t buy the game. I’ve done this for many games like the Motorstorm series (MS3) & companies I see as shafting me the gamer and that includes Capcom. I saw the direction and attitude they were going even as far back as 2006/2007 and I decided not to give them my $$ and I can’t say I’ve felt missed out on their games.
Talk w/ your $$ cause that’s the only language corporations understand.
ME3 has on-disc “DLC” as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRRpGlmtws8&feature=g-all-lik&context=G2df3bd5FAAAAAAAAAAA
It looks like there is a new “MVC3″ version coming out.
In July if the rumors are correct with 8 additional characters :-7
The name is supposed to be:
ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3X
And no, it’s not a joke.
So you see how fucking ridiculous CASHCOM is. Skip their games people, skip their games. Boycott the madness.
Dammit Joe spread the news through Kotaku and other gaming websites. You already got the headline, but now EVERYONE needs to know about this! Spread the word!
I feel your pain Joe.But that wasnt all.Sad thing is u must buy charcter colors new gems ,auto combos as well as dlc and they all on the disc from the start too.Why should i pay to customize my charcter? In tekken 6 and soulcalibur 5 its free and its much better.
Quick question, Angry Joe. You said that if they were going to charge for the extra characters, do it on the vita version? GO back to 3:05 and listen for 6 seconds. Joe you don’t care if people have to pay as long as you don’t. Wow, way to hide behind the consumer
I have this game for ps3 . It is a very cool game . We can´t blame the game for capcom actions
and this is why your entertainment value will keep taking a dive in quality cause you are content with little not knowing you should be having so much more and companies love gamers with your mindset. Each to their own I know but I for one will never allow corporations to blatantly shaft me while they expect me to hand over MY $$
I gues the person who reviews the game must add into account the faulty DLC and penalize the games score for unappreciate marketing.
odio estas malas practicas y la unica forma de parar esto es no comprando los juegos aunque nos duela no los compren
Let me just say that if I were to buy a value meal from McDonald’s, I wouldn’t expect to get my burger and fries, and then be told I had to pay another $1 for my drink. That I already bought.
In my opinion, Capcom doing this is no different. We paid for a disc, we should have complete access to the product we bought.
The only way to beat them is not to support their bullshit. Don’t even buy the game even if it is good.
Sorry to say this Joe but this practice is being employed more and more these days. The only way I say to stop this is to hit them where it hurts the most, their wallet. I have not purchased Mass Effect 3 or the recent Capcom fighters for this very reason. The “From Ashes” DLC was on the disc for Mass Effect 3 and by the looks of things it will be like that for Capcom games to
My advice is to flat out boycott the game. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done it. Like you Joe, I knew a “Super” version was going to be made for MvC3 and when I heard the crap that happend for UMvC3 I said “no more.”
They only listen to money, so I suggest we don’t give it to them, even if its a good game.
im done with this company i will not buy anything else from them , why the fuck didnt they tell the gamers that the xbox will not have co op online im gonna sell this game or exchange it for another one.
Its easy for them to say sorry it was a mistake that the manual said you can , its easy to give bad explanation when the money its getting in but HEY we the fans give you work people, we pay for your games so its a complete insult to us what you are doing , whats gonna be next a street fighter 5 where ryu will only have light medium high punch and kicks and you will have to buy the hadokens shoryukens and tatsumakis??? and why you put counter attack on that game couldnt you think another focus or parry system?? my grandma use to use the counter attack ON SF ALPHA WARRIOR DREAM!!! this game should have been given the name street fighter cash tekken cause that its what it is…and common people the game isnt that good go play mugen or something…
yeah for me this is bull the only way they could make up for it is add a lot more characters afterwards or reduce the price but this is bull ps vita has been getting great leniency for this game the content should at least be offered equally to each console honestly if this doesn’t go well I’m not buying another one of their games because besides street fighter 4 their games have been depressing. Also if some of the content is done why not release some of it (Cody maybe) regardless I already know they’re going to bull s us anyways like they did with umvc3(not giving us what we want like Jin anyone) so I wasn’t hype for this game since I had a feeling something was going to happen and I got bigger things to worry about so if the screw this game their loss find something else to do or play recommended for anyone with this problem also I have a poll for Charlie in future games check it out
http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/546194
You think this is bad? Look at what Aksys (Arc System Works) with Blazblue. They pulled the SSF4/UMvC3 shit with Continuum Shift, with only 2 new characters and the other 4 as dlc, each being 7$ save for 1. I guess that’s not so bad, until you consider that THEY’RE DOING IT AGAIN WITH EXTEND! You would think they would try to back this dick move up with content. Guess what; THEY FUCKING DON’T! Unless you think adding only 1 characters makes up for the price. I feel bad for those who bought expensive dlc characters for CS.
What is wrong with these people? I’ll just say that I’m not even a big fan of Mortal Kombat, but they did so much more for their fans with 1 game than what Capcom and Aksys did with 3 each. It’s truly unacceptable.
correct which is why i wasn’t hyped for this game they preety much been screwing us over so like I said if it doesn’t go right I will just play something else that’s fun and it treats every consumer equally or find something else to do period
This dude needs to chill the fuck out. It’s just a stupid game you moron, go read a book or something, I don’t know, go outside, meet people.
Good news is that part of deal with namco was would be NO super version or ultimate version least is my understanding everything will be in a DLC format goes same with alt version namco is going to do. Still is a shitty practice but is only one real solution…
BOYCOTT the game
if you dont support that kind of practice boycott it, TB said it best in his rant on ME3 and i think it applies here to.
Wow this is year is not starting good. So much fail. Soul Calibur has no history and is only good for multiplayer; Mass Effect 3 is massive disapointment; Kingdoms of Amalur was pretty underwhelming; Asura’s Wrath was good but I wished it lasted longer and now this.
You said why they do this. They don’t care. Its why Keiji Inafune left, its why Mega Man as a whole has been drowned out under a sea of Capcom-trolling and “Lul Badbox Mega Dude is fine!” crap we’ve seen. It’s why they continuously try to pull the wool over our eyes and rob us ten ways to Japan’s yesterday.
Capcom is being run by a bunch of outdated suits who have no place in the industry, and if they keep at this pace, I’m hoping they run headfirst and neck-second into the ground. That way what few IPs they actually have left that deserve good treatment could hopefully find it. I’m all for Cyber Connect 2 taking over Legends 3, or Nintendo as a whole adopting the Mega Man IP. Let some other company take over Street Fighter.
They have no right being Developers, and they certainly don’t deserve being able to publish anything, and its such a shame that CC2 and Asura’s Wrath is being published by Capcom instead of someone else.
As for what you do? What can we do? For every one of us who doesn’t buy these games, who doesn’t support them. There is at least fifty mindless gits or just unknowing innocents who pay for this, DLC and EX editions and all. Heck, it almost pushes me into “Pro-Piracy” for these games. Almost. Instead, best I can say is subvert new sales by paying for used copies, but then you run into the bullshit “Online DLC” you have to pay for.
And yes Joe, not being able to local co-op online is exactly what you said. Mortal Kombat isn’t even the first game to do it! Halo 3 had the ability to let multiple local players play online (sharing an account name with a number next to it) and so have several other games. But here’s the thing, what does Capcom get out of that? Two people playing on one game that’s what! They are furious at the idea of that, since that just means one person paid for it instead of two like they want. That’s at least around a 50% decrease in profit from those two individuals!
And here’s a thought. We got Raccoon City and Resident Evil 6 in our futures, immediate or not. Just imagine the bullshit they are going to try and pull with those. And while RE 6 might be a bit harder to imagine. The naturally online environment that Raccoon City has just FOSTERS this kind of bullshit behavior.
I know dude that’s why I will just play something else most the time when I tried of the bull dude this sucks
I support your statement. It sucks that Capcom does this to us the gamers. If it wasnt for us they have shit.
Hey Joe, the answer isn’t to go out and buy the used game because I believe that’s why we have this sort of DLC. When you buy a used game the company doesn’t make any extra profit off of it so they need to include DLC in order to at least make some cash off of a product they made. In my opinion what we should do is just hold out for a ‘GOTY’ or ‘Ultimate’ edition that we all know will come out anyway.
I’m 100% sure Corporate Commander runs Capcom
I’m with you Joe. Enough is enough, and we have to work out a way to let it be known.
I liked the idea of DLC originally – It felt like a natural progressing from the expansion discs of earlier generations, allowing games to have a new lease of life post-release.
Now there has been and still is great DLC – Rock Band, for example, has become like an iTunes for the music game genre, and Rockstar did it right with their GTA IV expansions.
But with every game release you can see the bean counters at various publishers rubbing their hands, and concocting new plans on how to nickle and dime us more.
But Capcom – they take the cake… You’re a far cry from the company I remember so fondly from the 80′s and 90′s.
On disc DLC characters and costumes in SF4/SFXT/MVC3?
DLC CHARACTER PALETTES in SF3 ONLINE?? REMEMBER WHEN YOU GAVE US AN EDITOR TO MAKE OUR OWN?
DLC CHEATS? ACTUALLY HAVING TO PAY REAL CASH MONEY FOR A GODDAMN CHEAT/UNLOCK CODE? DOWN, R, UP, L, Y, B, CAPCOM… REMEMBER?
I’m voting with my wallet – I’m done with Capcom, and won’t be buying any more of their products until this horrid practice is over. I can’t even believe some of this shit is even legal.
agree like i said in my first post this doesn’t go right for this game count me out playing or doing something else period
all i have to say this. joe i am with you. i am not going to buy this game i have not bought a capcom game on consoles for a while. and they suck with PC games. by not releasing them, i will admit to pirate copys because of no demos. but i am not going to buy this game. i will avoid capcom from my PC gaming list of future games. ( because they really dont exist on PC anyways)
i already made up my mind. i will miss playing this game. but this point need to be set across. also i will miss resident evil 6 on PC and more. but its something i am now going to have to live with
long live the JOE army for PC gamers and console gamers!!!
I say buy the game, but refuse to but the STUPID TROLOLOLOLO DLC, that is included on the disc. And this is why I don’t play fighting games, TROLL DLC that decides you need MOAR OVARIE-Powered characters for the 10$ you may or may not have. But how can a decent developer possibly have the nerve to sell you waht you just bought. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU\
P.s: Thanks for the vid joe
Also, in example good dlc would be violet in M.K 9, or point lookout in fallout 3. Adds new content post-release, that adds to the game smoothly and not make you feel like Sh*t for buying it.
Greetings, angryJoe. My point of view for this discussion is that I will not be buying any game that exceeds my threshold for the publishers (or possibly even devs) being too much of an ass holes.
The last game that I wasen’t going to buy was Mass Effect 3 just because they fukken made it to a mindless shooter, only looking for Mass Appeal (which should be it’s new name). And the final nail in the coffin was the bullshit DLC. I have both Mass Effect 1 & 2 for both xbox360 & pc, but the DLC is just rediculous for Mass Effect2, it still costs a fortune, even though one would think they would probably have dropped the price or something. I won’t be buying ME3, untill it’s on sale at steam.
I loved the first Mass Effect game, just as I loved Kotor. But then the unthinkable happened, Bioware sould their soul to EA. Of course every one joked about this, being that Bioware had almost a spotless record of bringing us awesome games & mainly one of the best rated Star Wars games ever, with a metacritic score almost as high as Half-Life. But I’m amazed how the devs at bioware have completely been blindfolded by money, or they have gone all George Lucas on us at least.
Mass Effect 2 was inferior almost like a Gears of War modification, but like that wasen’t enough Dragon Age 2 was very average. Something that we couldn’t have expected from Bioware, since Dragon Age 1 was awesome, and deviated from the blandness of todays gaming market & still at least to my knowledge did well for an RPG. Now my next comment may disturb some people, but I thin the new Old Republic game destroyed my faith in Bioware. I had played the Star Wars Galaxies a long time a go, but it was much more of a “star wars” mmo than the old republic mmo game. It was just a WOW clone that didn’t take any risks in any way, copying the wow formula almost to the teeth, but they left out some aspects of WOW that could have been usefull, like a working group finder!
And I’m not saying because it’s set during the times of the Old Republic, because I loved Kotor & it’s time line, one could say it was fresh compared to the usual Star Wars games/movies but some how for the intrest of being very bland & predictable they managed to smuggle in locals, armors & etc from the movies that happen 4000 years after the Old Republic timeline, just to get Mass Appeal again.
I hope Bioware will eventually turn back from the dark side & join Valve, Remedy & other developers that do their own thing.
PS. One of my favourite RTS games ever Is C&C Generals, why because it was relatively realistic & unlike any other c&c game. Now the new Generals 2 looks like any other new c&c game which I have disliked all.
PPS. When will the money hungry publishers realize that you can’t make money with a shitty product. And that a business model that might work for a social network type game might be completely stupid and only annoying for a player who plays an rpg or an fps.
this is total b.s. angry joe you are 100% correct dlc stands for downloadable content downloadable via the marketplace its all a scam good thing i rented this game from the red box yesterday and im ready to take it back today lol but i cant wait til namco puts their version out its gonna crush this one tekken x streetfighter is gonna be epic with all characters better gameplay and graphics FUCK CRAPCOM
DLC now stands for Disc Locked Content
i was actually going to preorder this game until i saw that it was made by capcom. i ve already learned never to trust capcom since days of old with the 50 iteration of street fighter 2. like everyone said theres probably going to be a a new version of the same game in like 6 months with all the characters unlocked or something stupid like that.and at least before they were jerks but they looked like they were being subtle a bout you know feigning ignorance, now their activelly fucking with us, such as deleting youtube accounts and such.assholes.worse part is this and some of their other games arent that bad(and could be much much better if they cared) but i dont want to have to sell an arm and a leg to them for everygame they release.
It’s not okay to do this. DLC is suppose to add more to the game as time passes on, not unlock stuff that is already there waiting for you on the disc. It’s incredibly cheap and lazy on Capcom’s part, but you know what? They’re going to keep on doing it anyway. Because Capcom has a huge following of fanboys who will happily eat up whatever Capcom pulls from their asses and if you’re a tournament player you have to buy the DLC updates if you want to keep up with the competition. They do it because they can get away with it. Go to GameFaqs or Shoryuken.com and look up a DLC topic. There are people who are not only happily buying the DLC but they also support this BS. Anybody who believes otherwise is a “whiny, entitled, spoiled brat” by their standards. It’s a shame this happened because Street Fighter X Tekken is such a good game and I want some of the DLC characters but I refuse to give Capcom any more money. If I had known about this before I picked it up I would have bought it used.
I bet that in 2 years, capcom will release games where you only get the demo version, and you will have to pay more money for the full version….
When you mentioned “Should we buy it used and buy the DLC?” it hit me that THAT IS (probably) WHY CAPCOM IS DOING THIS. They know a bunch of people are going to buy they game used, so to make money off of those people, they keep characters locked via DLC, so they will be forced to spend money (that capcom will actually see a penny of as opposed to used game sales)
It’s the same deal with online passes, but at least with the online pass, the early adopters aren’t punished for it as well.
Not a fan too much of fighting games so wont be getting this anyway , but how much longer til other games do it. This is a shitty practice and we should all let capcom know with our wallets we wont take it anymore
The message would be clear if we didn’t buy their products outright, which is what I’m doing. Fucking capcom. Even though I love a series or two they have, their pricks. So no, I’m done with them and their products. Don’t even care.
Mass Effect 3 also really bothers me but I’ll wait for the video on that one.
The thing is, I’m a fan of DLC if it’s done right. If I buy a game, like it, and later on you produce additional content that I can download, I will happily do so (e.g. Borderlands).
Also, pricing of the game is the publishers choice, so if Capcom had just charged more for the retail version and included the characters, I’d be okay with it.
But that’s not what they did. They knew they’d have to set the price of the game in the area of 50-60$ for people to buy it, but they wanted more. So they took some of the content they created and – effectively – removed it from the game to hold it to ransom.
That’s not a sales tactic I’m going to accept.
ugh seeing this stuff makes me glad I was never much of a fan of Capcom games, mostly because I’m just not into fighting games. But you know what? I think I’ll buy a copy of the next Midway release just to spite these fools.
The fact that the PSN and XBL diffenrece is that you can do online split screen on COD MW3 and black ops on both consoles
I don’t use online functions for my Xbox360 (except very occasional online multiplayer) partially because of all the DLC bullshit that I have always ignored and always will.
hey guys, Another article about game content that was included in the disc and was taken away to make DLC.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/03/10/the-problem-with-biowares-mass-effect-3-day-one-dlc-from-ashes/
Mass Effect 3, again
I love how we all know to never buy the first version of a Capcom game. Imagine if this was Devil May Cry and you had to download the second half of the game. This is unacceptable to a point.
I enjoy having characters that I can unlock through playing the game over and over or doing something special like in Smash Bros. But having to pay for ish that I already have on my cd? No. Fuck that. Capcom can fuckin wait. Ill invest money in a game that wants me to appreciate its content from the get go. Not one that pretends to let me “discover” it with money!
There is also one more thing I don’t understand…
WHY DIDN’T ANGRY JOE MENTION >>> THE IN-GAME MEGA MAN <<< ???
Look at him. He is a fat, old bastard!
Think about the entire story. After all the crying and the bitching of the Mega Man fans, when MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3 / ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3 came out and Mega Man was not featured in it, now Crapcom finally decided to bring Mega Man back in STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN and how they did it …
Cashcom was like: "Here you have your fucking Mega Man back, you stupid morons. Enjoy him, if you can!"
I'm seriously confused so hard by the entire bullshit coming from a former great publisher / developer.
Capcom, why don’t you want my money?
I actually stopped to buy any of Capcom games since, i think Devil May Cry 4, i was so dissapointed with this game and Capcom, I decided not to even play Street Fighter 4. And i hate this shit with DLC, i hated it even when it first time appeared because in some reason they’re confusing me. If I played the whole game, and then some DLC went on, i just don’t know what i am suppose to do. Like in Mass Effect 2, i played through whole game and i skipped all 22 DLC because i don’t give a fuck about some booring old mercenary (my friend said he doesn’t even have something to say after his main quest done) and i don’t think it’ll have any huge impact on Mass Effect 3 (also, endings in ME3 sucks, but overall descent game, but too short for ending of trilogy, and too linear, because i wanted to kill everyone at the end, even Garrus which is mine favorite character, my mark will be 7/10 with badass seal of approval, and the DLC isn’t that bad, it about living Protean THAT HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, and i got to admit, it sucks that they’re made us to buy it as extra, i really felt like it already was in game… or wait, wasn’ it?) and what confuses me is when i suppose to play them, i mean, i destroyed Collectors, that’s it, why would i want more characters, they’re bland and have nothing to say. So basically, i’m with you Joe and i don’t support Capcom really long time because i’m already not satisfied with actual games, not only DLC, and from what you said, you gave me one more reason not to support them. But also the’re good moments in having DLC, like Alan Wake, i enjoyed the mage and DLC’s, and can’t wait for American Nightmate which is also actually DLC, not sequel as i remember. Oh man, i have no idea how many mistakes i made in this poste, sorry for them, because i’m from Russia and only started to learn English (besides, Joe, love you diction, helps to train mine, so basically, i’m learning English from you, lol).
As much as I want to buy this game right now, I’m gonna wait it out until the Super Ultimate Complete Arcade Whatever Edition Version comes out with all playable characters unlocked from the get go. I’ve already been burned by Capcom twice for buying the original SF4 and MvC3 games before the newer version came out, an I’ll be damned if I ever fall for that crap again! -.-
