*Sigh* Aliens Delayed Again – February 12th, 2013
As if this title hasn’t seen enough delays and possible cancellations to make any fan worried, Aliens: Colonial Marines was announced once again to be pushed back into next year via this new “Suspense” Trailer. Why the delay? Well I have a sneaky suspicion.
Sega sets the exact date to February 12th, 2013 for all platforms, besides the new Wii U.
“A release date for the announced Wii U version will be revealed at a later time.” -Official Release
Remember, that Aliens: Colonial Marines is getting a unique Motion Tracker/Wii U controller feature that the other games will not have.
You ask me? This latest delay isn’t so much an indicator of a problem with the game, but rather it’s because Nintendo setup a timed exclusive with gearbox. I bet you the Wii U version, which I have no interest in, will be a timed exclusive to the Wii U as Nintendo tries to show stronger third-party release support for its new console.
Lets wait and see.

Soo looking forward to the WiiU version! Its going to give me willies every time the motion tracker goes off! At least this delay let me have time to upgrade my Stereo with HDMI so I can actually use the WiiU surround sound option.
Can’t wait for this game!

well, is thinks this delay is for the good because if this released on this they probably will pass unnoticed.

One word; WOW and I don’t mean World Of Warcraft. I was a US Marine back 06 and got out 2011 and I’ve been waiting for this game like years. Thx Nintendo what a way to stick it to the Marine Corps lol like 71 years later assholes. In any event you just know SEGA was like “Oh yeah sure make your high speed low drag Motion Tracker. We don’t mind fucking over the fans after years of waiting and countless setbacks of the game. Fuck it! They don’t need it!!!” (Quoting our awesome Commander and Chief Joe.) But am I right tho aren’t I. Sad but true. I mean really Wii come on what a way to not jump on board when your train was at the station eh? Anyway whatever at least I still got Prometheus in a week or so; so I’ll get mine Nintendo I’ll get mine.

This looks really cool. It reminds me the second movie, which I think is the best. I really hope this is not going to be only 5-6 hours long single player experience as other FPS games usually are. I hope it will worth the wait. Sadly, I have doubts.

companies do this stuff all the time, with other games they show preference for a console or platform and give special benefits, hell Skyrim is doing it with it’s DLC

This game is looking pretty damn good. I’m planning on getting it when it comes out. I can stand the delays because I figured it was to polish and refine the game. Don’t be such a pessimist, Joe. lol
Also, I’m a little jealous of who ever gets to play this on the WiiU, just because of the motion tracker on the controller. I know its not a big deal, but as a huge fan of the aliens movie. I like the idea of looking down at something in your hand to see the tracker. Plus, it will clear up some of the screen to see the action.

I dont know about you guys but this looks freaking awesome! Now im even more hyped, and now im even more pissed off because of the delay, but i bet it will be worth it.
Why the hell would they release something as awesome as an Alien game for the Wii U? The newer Nintendo systems are for kids!
They did release a Dead Space game for the Wii a few years ago, before the 2nd game came out and it turned out to be pretty much more gory than the original game. It’s Nintendo’s effort to attract more mature gamers to the Wii, cause they know that whatever else they got is simply for kids.

Oh come on not again
I hope this game will be good. This trailer gave me some optimism about that it won’t be a complete re-hash of Aliens. Though I didn’t like the whole disregard of Alien 3 story, where the Sulaco is clearly shown heading back, not orbiting LV-426. It would’ve been cooler if the second marine ship is trying to track it down, while dealing the alien outbreaks on various worlds it passes and infects.
I know this is irrelevant but how come the forums are down? I thought it was just me until another user posted about it as well.

I think it’s because they don’t want a Gearbox FPS (Aliens) competing with another Gearbox FPS (Borderlands 2).
They sure hope they have a big reason why they delayed this… again.

If this game allows you to plays as aliens i’ll give it a try. Otherwise i’ll pass. Couldn’t case less about Marines. (I hate the “Marines in Space” cliché)…

First time I see this trailer.
The ambience feels amazing… it just flows like the original two movies (best ones), but the blood… it’s just me or the blood looks like… jelly?? I don’t really like the graphics.

Stronger third party support is one thing, but is anyone really going to buy a bloody FPS from the Aliens franchise on a console like the WiiU?
The Wii U will flop with dismal sales because Nintendo has forgotten the fan base and games that got them to where they were before the wii.
They are betting that nostalgia will keep them going and I say no.
The last Nintendo product I purchased was a Gamecube and I don’t see that changing any time soon unless I can get a wii on sale so i can play SSB:Brawl and SSB:Melee
I agree with everything you said about the Wii. If it wasn’t for Super Smash Brothers and a small handful of good games I would have sold my Wii a long time ago. It was a gimmicky console that alienated its hardcore crowd. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Wii U will flop. Nintendo seems to be doing more with the new console to appeal to the hardcore crowd. My biggest concern with it is the controller. It freaking huge. The size of an IPad I think and I’m worried they’ll shoehorn a bunch of stupid gimmicky gameplay mechanics with it. I’ll probably end up buying one anyway though because I’m super hyped for the next SSB and a few other games but I won’t be playing this on the Wii U, that’s for sure. I’m disappointed to see this game got delayed again. Ever since Joe’s first video about it I’ve been hoping for a chance to play it someday.
I only like the WII for games like Super Smash Bros and Wii Resort (Sword fighting was pretty cool and just what the Wii is suited for), other than those games the Wii don’t have any good quality games to make me move beyond just borrowing it of a friend or playing with them, as a hard-core console it’s future is less of traditional types of games and instead for more motion games, most of which are pretty tacky and poor quality, it’s way of allowing you to play games limit it to these, which makes it a very unattractive option to buy (at least in my opinion).
Typical. You couldnt care less when PlayStation gets affected by timed exclusives for Xbox, but when your precious Xbox could possibly get affected youre pissed and deem it newsworthy. Your awesome Joe but sometimes I just wish you were less of a 360 fanboy.

Ah come on man, he owns a 360, not a PS3. No matter how crap one or the other is, he’s gonna care more for the console he has and what he can play on it. And he does mention from time to time stuff about unfairness occuring for 360 and for PS3.

Atleast we know we are going to get a polished game when their done, unlike alot of other titles that have been getting released recently.
The WiiU looks interesting to me. It has a lot of power, and it looks like Nintendo is trying to really get some great third party support for this console, which shows that they’re willing to learn from their mistakes, which is a good thing because you don’t see that a lot in this industry.
That saying if its to expensive, fuck that.
A lot of power….. right it going to be the first console of the next generation and it has the power to match the Xbox 360 and ps3 that’s pathetic so what will they do when the new PlayStation and Xbox comes out…. it’ll look abysmally outdated
