so its 60 doller garbage id rather eat shit that buy this his video makes it look so bad id rather eat shit
Hmm 9 linear levels, a terrible “rts” system, a boring unoriginal “story”, 5 guns, and movie licensed?
Sounds like heaven
Im more baffled by the fact that they get the idea for an alien invasion movie from a board game like battleship
Don’t be.
Long ago a curse was placed upon movie licensed titles.
If you decide to make one, your fucked
movie games are bad enough but a movie game based of a board game just no
before you know it there’ll be a monopoly movie or a chess movie in the cinemas soon
At least chess has a tiny bit of potential with the mid evil warfare, which could make an okay rts game, but not a fps like how this was turned from a strategy game to a fps.
2? Joe, why so high score? Other that a coupon and idea that isn’t really good and realized awfully, there’s nothing else. And i’m a gamer from different country, so, there’s no coupon for me even if in some weird reason i wanted to buy this shit. The score is nothing, but 1. Joe, you hugely overrated this shit.
The worst part of it all is that a FPS/RTS hybrid with naval combat set during an alien invasion could’ve been AWESOME. But nooooooo.
Well done Activision! Another spectacular rushed out generic FPS piece of shit. Your dumbass beliefs that FPS is the king of game genres and that it always and your FPS fetish is slowly killing the genre. When FPS and more importantly CoD dies then where are you gonna sink your teehts in and start sucking it dry like a fucking parasite!? You already killed the music game genre with your Guitar hero games that were desperately trying to copy Rock Band. It’s called GUITAR hero not Band hero. And also Double helix games, you claim to be one of the most ”experienced and largest” developers, well it doesn’t look like it. If you were, this would’ve turned out decent.
What a piece of shit game my god movie games you can’t be this terrible I mean seriously
We must rise against garbage like this! We must raise the all mighty banner of gaming! Down with Corporate Commander! Down with disc locked content! We must take our chances as at this rare moment one man who takes action in the industry is an actual gamer! Heil mein Joe! lol
And this is what’s wrong with the gaming industry. I understand it’s a business, and without making money there’s no point to any of it. This, however, is the worst sort of insult to people who spend their hard-earned money on electronic entertainment. Most movie games are garbage, to be sure, but shoveling out this sort of crap just smashes any hope I have for the future of the industry. Bring on the next crash folks… bring it on. We seriously need a ‘reboot’.
bought Max Payne 3 instead. joe should review max payne
I don’t get why they have to push these movie licensed games out so fast, give them some time, and they might actually be good
Some games are too broken to be fixed.
the game SUCKS, why make the tie-in an FPS?
Hey, dude. Loved the review. Did right by the game.
Though, just FYI, most developers have no say in the pricing of their game, unless they’re self-published (and even then it’s not consistent).
So blame either Activision for the MSRP or whatever shop you bought it in, not double helix.
Hope the movie was entertaining, at least.
Still better than the mass effect 3 ending.
Ha funny that a 6 year old game is more developed in it’s RTS aspect, yes, It’s worse than Soul Calibur 3′s extra mode [which btw, is awesome, but STILL!]
FPS Battleship!!!!!!!! Seriously Activision! WHYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That movie licenced game industry WILL stay intact if we buy this GARBAGE.Stop it NOW.
Instead if you want a good game simulating sea warfare try the Silent Hunter series.A game simulating submarine warfare which is fucking good! And only 20$ or less in sale it is a chance.Buy it instead of Battleship(how dare they call it battleship)
I think its painful to see that the price hasn’t dropped at all yet on Amazon (its still at $59, despite woefully cheaper alternatives that clock in at $25).
In this day and age, when you can get TF2 for FREE? Come on parents, is there nobody who realizes movie-tie-in games are almost always lousy? I’m sure some of us grew up with the movie-tie-in at this point. I’m sure people did BACK ON THE NES.
This trend isn’t anything new; in fact if anything its just showing how much worse its gotten.
I love this game!!!! I played it for one day straight…..With no washroom breaks!
this is a f***ing game dont buy it
I think Activision should be burned to the ground for what they force developers to do, take Treyarch for and example they were almost done adding the finishing touches on Black Ops but instead Activision put a gun up to their head and told them to release the game on the very early due date, so Treyarch having no choice they released the game. And then this game, create a generic FPS with some garbage ship sections and make it only 4 hours long and then release it that way the development cycle is faster and you get more $ and less score just like every other movie game, its very rare to actually find a good one . Fuck you Activision all of you people are hated and always fuck up good franchises for FUCKING CASH THATS IT QUANTITY OVER FUCKING QUALITY, ALL DEVELOPERS SHOULD NEVER TRUST ACTIVISION, EVER!!! let the word be passed!
at least, they should add the sport competition like the movie as an extras
this game of bullshit and rude finger seal of worse games
i don’t like battleship movie because it is a rip off of transformers with alen robots (alens) i liked the old game better it has humans battleships vs human battleships. but the movie has human battleships vs alen battleships. and by away i like the avengers movie more better then battleships movie i was in the movies in adelaide wtich is in australia i never will see the battle ships ever ever. i don,t like the reviews high rates on games sometimes. mavels avengers 10/10 legendary or 5 stars.
rate of the game 0/10 just kinnding 1/10
rate of the movie 2.stars or 4/10
If I were Activision, I would have made the game a good strategy one, based on the board game with maybe couple of twists and the ability of playing it online. And I would have made it an arcade downloadable game with a modest price point, not a $60 game.
But I am still wondering here, do people still buy cheap movie-based games? Is it profitable to Activision in some ways we don’t know?
Apparently there are 136 traitors in the Angry Joe army!
yes i’m very angry at review’s rateing it wrong i think the troops need more recruits and some troops are traitors like 136 i’m not a traitor and aussie and austraila needs a leader like angry joe but we need more leaders from other states just a thonght
Fallen White, Magister of the Dawnbreakers, UK Division, reporting for duty
its just an idea.
If there’s a chance….I MEAN if there’s a chance!!!We should make a movie licensed game on our own, maybe its gaming will be better than the game company ‘s work by themselves. Oh,no! The essential problem of movie licensed game is that it should never exist!!
I think the movie licensed gaming industry is cursed, since approx. 1/4 of all movie licensed games are above 6/10.
Are u kidding, movie games usually get 4/10s they are never average
Anyone got a smiley for fellatio, I think it fits here
?! The top video is showing up very oddly for me its pixelating and stuff. It’s probably just my crappy internet, but it’s pretty freaky looking. Joe appears to paint part of the window yellowish with his forearm at about 3:30 for example. And at the beginning the lower portion of his face turns gray as he pixelates.
I HATE how the movie industry is pissing over CLASSIC AND STELLAR movies, board games, pop cultures ECT. to ‘please’ today’s generation, it sickens me to an extent that I think the movie industry is saying “Fuck having our movies likeable to older generations, LETS JUST PUT IN A LOAD OF CLICHÉD ALIENS, ZOMBIES AND ARMY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Sickening.
If your interested in a good battleship strategy game, there’s a game that might interest you. It’s called; Battlestations: Pacific. I’ve only played the demo, but it looks a lot better than the first game.
I’m just glad there isn’t a movie tie-in game for the Hunger Games. Actually there is pretty good iPhone tie-in game, but that hardly counts as a tie-in game.
To be honest with you. I actually LIKED the movie Battleship. The only thing I hated in the movie was the special effects, which were a rip off of the same FX as Transformers. Then some of the acting. Like for example the nerdy astronomer guy. Who freaks out at the sight of a wounded soldier asks out loud “Is that a cyborg?” Technically the soldier is a cyborg. Cyborgs are nothing more than organic beings with artificial limbs. Then the same guy decides to split from the group and then grows a set of balls the size of grapefruits off screen. Thereby decided to help them by beating the alien senseless with the briefcase holding his communication device! Forgetting for a brief period of time that his earlier encounters with the aliens and the soldier, he has almost pissed his pants! Talk about cliche.
holy mother of games !!! 121 people are even thinking of buying this “2 girls 1 cup” SHIT!!!! hhahaah sorry hhaaha
Wow Joe, i feel sorry for you, really i do. But it doesn’t even have to be said, the entire Battleship “interpretation” was just flat out run of the mill corporate whoring. Actually you know what, it’s not whoring, because that would mean the company is the one getting screwed for our entertainment. No, WE’RE the ones who get bent over and SCREWED when they do this. For god sake they rereleased the battleship BOARD GAME, with the alien ships as a set of gamepieces and HAD THE BALLS to call it CLASSIC BATTLESHIP. I don’t know you, but i don’t remember ALIEN SHIPS in the battleship i played as a kid.
And you know what the sad thing is, there was absolutely NO EXCUSE for this to be a bad game. They had a pre existing idea they could have used and improved on to make it true to the battleship franchise. Naval Ops on PS2, there were three games in this franchise and they were all better in the naval battle section of this game. Go back further and there was a pretty good strategic naval combat game on the PS1 (can’t remember the name). HOW DO YOU BOTCH NAVAL COMBAT, HOW?
It’s an awesome review ( garbage game = even more fun). Angry Joe you made my day (actually night) xD
Angry joe could you do a revieww on battleship the movie if you could that would e great
Why do all movie license games suck? Is there some sort of curse on them or something?
they suck because of the very shot time they give them to the developers to create the game, they are literaly in rush to made them so they can come out to the stores the same day that the movie comes out
true to get you into the movies ….pffhahaha after playing this? youd go buy the movie and shit in its dvd cover haha
spider-man 2 didn’t
Heey, have you ever played either Jurassic Park, Aladdin, or Toy Story on the Genisis? The best movie liscense game I have ever played in my life.
Silly person, pre Gen 5 doesn’t count!
Battleship? i would call it Battleshit XD
on a side note what the Aliens shot at you in the Naval “battle”? trash? you shoot Misslies and the grab their trash cans and shoot you with trash? wtf is that?
Another movie licensed pile of dogsh*t game. Too bad the movie sucks too!
TRAIN.
WRECK.
to see an “empty” train wreck looks more epic then this cold shit
Could have been better
Thank you, AngryJoe, for going through these craptastic movie licensed games for us.
People would have a much better experience playing Battlestations:Pacific which should have been a major influence for this game. I don’t see how “Battleship”, which would obviously scream naval warfare, would make a developer think short poor FPS. It had huge potential to be an awesome, polished, modern day naval strategy/3rd person shooter like the previously stated Battlestations but, as it is, the only way I would play it is if it came out for the 360 arcade for like 5-10 bucks.
hmm i suppose this was expected from a movie licensed game, i wonder if there will be a movie spin off game thats good ( exceptions for star wars games and lord of the rings games they were awsome well most of them.)
Battleship?!? Ha! More like battleshits!
hahah before opening its Game Cover youd probably have to get a flyswatter
Hey Joe long time fan just wondering could you do a review of metro last light its a sequel to metro 2033
Will we ever see a good movie licensed game?
tomb raider was good wasnt it?
the matrix was good but full of bugs and shit
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay was a good one.
But mainly because they had the good sense to actually do their own thing and dedicate the proper amount of time and money to it rather than making it just a cheap movie tie-in. So whether or not it should even count as a tie-in game is kind of debatable.
What The F*ck Activision Battleship Fps & 60$!!!????!
yeah its because of the tooooo short developing time and a tooo sloppy amount of money what those cheap cunts dare to call a budget
Joe don’t use Springboard. I’ve been constantly seeing these annoying parts on your video and it’s getting stupid. Just don’t use this thing. Ever. Great review though.
men i’m geting seriously mad if this kind of games continue to be made
WTF JOE i should slap you in the face….if i was stronger then you ahahah.
But serious i think im having a LOT more fun right now you know why? BECAUSE I GOT MAX PAYNE !!!! i had a difficult time making up my mind buying GRFS or MP3 …..not BATTLESHIT
