Yeah I agree. 4X usually refers to strategy games, but you could say that the X-series is a 4X space shooter.

If you want space combat you might want to check out Skyjacker over on kickstarter. It looks really good and could use some support.

Yeah, it is most definitely not. As he said, it’s more like Sins of a Solar Empire. While Empire at War was neat in the aspect of controlling fleets of star destroyers, the battles themselves felt very small scale. It looked decent, but it was mostly brainless with little to know strategy required. You could just buy a bunch of ISDs and keep loading them into the fight.

Like I said, not Empire.

I really can’t wait this game for it to Release! I miss playing this kind of games that was made back the, Particularly Freespace 2. And I’m just 13 and I enjoy the immersion this genre gives.

“Infinity: Quest for earth” is what I am waiting for,
newtonian physics, twitch control, seamless planetary landing, the whole galaxy with billions of stars, no stupid aliens… and it will be a mmo, EVE will be blasted to dust when this jewel comes out
