Who defends this game, really? I see no innovation in this Risen franchise except for being an RPG (a bad one, unfortunately), and pirate theme.
I think assassin’s creed IV will be like the first good pirate game ever.
Good thing I didn’t buy this game thanks Joe loll I thought it was going to be more about having your own ship and do pirating in this game.
but it is a quite good game I am not saying it is bad. I give 5 out of 10
This game is great! I bought xbox edition and i’m haveing a good time. Not as good as Witcher 2 but still 6 out of 10!
I’d love to know what review he gave Shenmue 1 and 2, personaly to me. Anyone with no patience for those 2 can’t enjoy Gothic either, and Risens are Gothics 4 and 5 to me. Game is fine, its awesome in fact, and oh well combat isnt perfect, but was Gothic 1 and 2s? Not always to me. Lacked that dumb target lock Zelda had, and doesn’t left trigger not sure on KB key i use a controller, isn’t left trigger a target lock now? That’s a huge huge fix.

Joe’s rewiews are realy good and funny, but i have to disagree here. I enjoyed all games from PB and Risen 1 and 2 are no exception. PB has special style in making RPG. Yes their games have lot of issues, but also have best atmosphere of all RPG.
Like i said PB has special style and not everyone like it.

But PBs games have one problem…..People usualy absolutely love it or absolutely hate it
To compare i never liked Elder scrolls. Even Skyrim which lot of people totaly love. When i started to play Risen 2 i was absolutely suprised how different it is from Risen 1, but it took quie short time and was familiar with game. When i played Skyrim i played it for lot of hours, completed tons of quests and still was not familiar with game. Atmosphere just did not got me to it. And i found myself quite bored in situations like….O my god where am I?? What to do here? Witch of these hundreds quest to do first??? Why why why this quest have to be here in middle of nowhare??? Why this F…. girl cant folow me thru watter???……..And so on
It is just about style. Some people love it some not…
Joe’s rewiews are always realiable, so i took that one to heart and stayed away from this game for a long time. It was a mistake. It’s Gothicness at it’s peak! Joe just doesn’t understand what a gothic(risen) game is supposed to be. Story and chcaracters, are great. Combat and enemy variety are really bad, but that’s all. This game isn’t ideal, but it’s a GREAT GAME and doesn’t deserve the shitty reviews it’s been getting. Most people just don’t get idea behind Gothic/Risen.
The dialogue in english is remarkably worse than the german one I noticed. I loved the Risen games. They took me back to my Gothic days. I play in german, so the jokes were never ruined for me. I laughed for hours.
Monkey scene is OUTSTANDING, hehe
Still my favorite Angry Joe review…love his reaction when the guy killed his monkey. I got this game in a party game in Christmas (where you buy a game and roll dice and swap prizes with your coworkers; lots of fun) and decided to keep it instead of the new FIFA game (everybody thought I was crazy) but it turned out ok, it is not a GREAT game but it is fun and with its PC patch (which got rid of the funky shadows and fixed a few combat problems) it is pretty fun…I would give it a solid 7

Start installing in russian Risen 2 becomes fully russian, I can freely understand either, but still it was neat.

I can tell you Risen 2 is great game with an unmatchable atmosphere, entertaining dialogues, beautiful landscapes, details, made by a small 20 man team with all their effort and heart which I directly notice while playing. No other RPGs from any other companies can offer me that.
Also it’s not the games fault if you don’t get how to play it.
Angry Joe fails to touch on any of Risen 2′s many charms because he is a retard American of the worst kind. Just as in his Skyrim review, Angry Joe fails to inform his viewer that Skyrim is a big pile of souless empty repetative shit because he is an American retard of the very worst kind.
In his other reviews of other games he praises stuff like “tons of badges and awards to unlock” or Call of Duty’s “in yer face blockbuster events that keep the pulse racing”!?
In otherwords, Joe likes all the crass mindless elements in games, things that people with taste hate. He is also a complete sucker for hype (although he may tend to love the most hyped up games cos he gets PAID to love them by marketing people).
Joe is a fkn idiot and you like myself, have probably seen enough of his shit to know that his values when reviewing games are never going to reflect the sort of things that you look for in a game.
I was put of Risen 2 by the glut of negative reviews such as Joe’s, but am now playing it and finding it to be one of the most immersive and addictive games of all time.

No Risen 2′s gameplay mechanics are stiff and hard unlike Skyrim where it’s actually fun and addicting your comment wasn’t thought out at all if you watch his Skyrim video review he does a fantastic job on it he clearly went into a TON of detail and how combat in that game is superior to that of it’s predecessor Oblivion and one that he will measure ALL RPG’s that follows after it….Risen 2 is the stupefy version of Fable or worst and Angry Joe isn’t into the whole “rewards and achievements” he just tells us either how challenging and how hard they can be to get and lastly Call of Duty References are refer only to FPS games but it’s only mention maybe once or twice and that’s it

Risen 2 is like Risen 1 only with a few GOOD changes and that’s it there is a ton of graphic issues and foliage issues also the combat like i said to BobBobson is stiff and hard and it gets REALLY frustrating way too fast now in Skyrim the gameplay is BETTER if Risen 2 and Skyrim had a voting poll Skyrim will win due to the fact that it’s gameplay is superior to Risen 2 you can dual wield, and you can use magic lastly Skyrim doesn’t have the same problems as Risen 2 name me ONE issue that both games have in common and if it’s due to the graphics or textures then no you were drunk while playing Risen 2

Can’t see any graphical issues with Risen 2. The combat system was good for me. You can’t blame Risens combat system just cuz you can’t get into it and don’t know how to use it.
1? I can name several isses Skyrim has for example the AI is much worse than in Risen 2. Glitches, areas are generic. Most dungeons are the same and are reused over and over again. Skyrim is just a mainstream hollow arcarde game. Your awesome Skyrim isn’t as awesome
The first of your videos that I watched was the Risen review, and man was it hilarious! Still got the game though practically because there weren’t any other rpg I could find at the time on the 360. But with magic system removed on this one I wouldn’t even dare try a demo and waste precious milliseconds of my gaming life. Thanks for the badass review!

Not really, Gothic 1-2 + Night of the raven were great. Actually Gothic 1 is for me on of the best RPG ever, Gothic 3 was after tons of patch and mods quite good. Gothic Arcania is shit and very end of this series, it has nothing to do with Gothic franchise. Risen 1 on PC was average game (again same gothic like story etc.) Risen 2 is shit, not kind of shit like Arcania but still under average game with again same story (haloo PB we already play this kind of story and it´s getting boring)

I think the problem with these “epic” games is that they set their goals too high. They want to create an adventure with all trimmings of the real life experience, but they don’t put enough effort into the stuff that really counts, like battle.
Actually, a lot of sailors and pirates couldn’t swim at that time.
“Meh” is a perfect word to explain the feelings I had while playing this game. But still think it’s more a 5 rather then a 4, but still, great review as always Joe!
