AJ E3 2012: AC III, Watch Dogs & Far Cry III Interviews
Angry Joe visits Ubisoft to get some Exclusive Details about Assassins Creed III (Naval Combat), Watch Dogs (Multiplayer Modes) and the Featured Packed Far Cry 3 (Content)!
Far Cry III
With all that they have packed into Far Cry III alongside its already impressive graphics and open-world gameplay its hard to find a reason it shouldnt be a day one buy!
Watch Dogs
Watch Dogs is easily the most ambitious and unique open world game to come along in a long time. I think I even managed to snag up some rare multiplayer footage there at the end. It seems as if you can hack into other plays worlds, spy on them and even take an active role in some way – more on this later as we approach its 2013 release.
Assassins Creed III
I’ll admit I grew tired of the Assassin’s Creed Franchise. However, just as I was about to give up on it, they hit us with this. I’ve never been this excited about an AC game or an Open World game for that matter in a long while. Combine my favorite historical period, with an Open World AND full control of your own Ship?! GET OUT. Take my money!
DONT FORGET GUYS, if you plan on buying and supporting any of these games then visit our Missions Page and cast your vote!

Assassin’s Creed Revelations are the worst part in the series!
“cross fingers” that AC3 will be awesome, always loved the series, only thing i didnt like about the first was the map system, personally i hated it. The second was awesome, and the only good addition to brotherhood was the recruits, i wish and hope they will expand more on them, perhaps side missions where you help em out more, get to know them etc. Tower defense in this game is such a nono :p Never tried farcry but it looks cool, i love open world games
Here’s another thought. The island has been isolated far from civilization right?( except for some new inhabitants coming to the island every now and then, either like Jason as a suckered tourist or some like Vaas or Dr. Earnhardt to live permanently.) Then how the hell are they so advanced?! I mean a lot of guns look new and are fitted with red-dot sights as well as heaps of other gimmicks other then guns. It won’t bother me or will hinder my gameplay experience, it is just a thought.
They probably get their tech from crime lords or the Black market and get it transported to them.
OH YES! I am very excited about all 3 games especially Far Cry 3. I was a huge fan of Far Cry 2 and I have been waiting to get my hands to FC3. I just love the bow, I bet it will make you feel like a predator! My only disappointment is that FC3 is now 18+ which is sad because if it was only 15+ I can buy it when it is released! NO! Why must you include boobs! Now I can’t buy it!
Joe, Being the captain of a free roaming ship in AC3?! I will buy the game based on that alone!
I’m pumped for all three games but I’m not looking forward to playing as Desmond in AC3. You didn’t sound very excited about it either. He’s seriously one of the least interesting characters I’ve ever seen in a video game.
I know, he’s just a plot device. That being said, I wonder what the excuse will be this time for him being strapped into the Animus?
I am really looking forward to Far Cry III. I loved the first one, hated the second one… but this one seems to be going back to the tropical roots with the insanity twist that really keeps me intrigued. I just hope it is not going to turn into something simplistic… you know… no Fight Club twist. The trailer seems to suggest that. Hopefully they are not dumb enough to give that away in a trailer… or are they?
i loved the assassin’s creed 12 b r 3 ever senced assassin’s creed 2 which came out in 2009 my brother played it and love every part of the game my was 9/10. i my toled my brother to play assassin’s creed 1 which was very slow in the story my rating was 7/10. assassin’s creed brotherhood was very good and it was my rating was 9/10. assassin’s creed revelations very very good love the game and the rating was 9/10. i think i will gave assassin’s creed 3 i not going to rate it yet but it will be my 10/10 game
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU JOE!! Thank you for FINALLY making a video where you actually talk about Assassin’s Creed. ACIII is definitely my MOST anticipated game of this year, preordered and I hoped collector’s editions will be released for Canada soon.
Far Cry 3 looks good. But do you have to play the previous games or is this one a complete different story?
Watchdogs looks promising, but I’m still not convinced.
And ofcourse Assassin’s Creed 3 is my most wanted game now. So can’t wait till the end of Octobre.
Live by the Creed, die by the Creed. Nothing is true, everything is permitted. Nice to see that Naval combat won’t be just a rail sequence for a mission, but will be free-roaming. Can’t wait to fight redcoats and bluecoats… as a whitecoat. :p
Aside from that, Alicia is one stunning girl.
Damn that red head is HOT! Interesting interview too.
Montreal girls my friend, they is damn fine
Glad to know I’m not the only one..
i really really really hate AC story… wait, one of it storys, let me specify… um,
a – Abstergo stuff, in 1st game was ok, after that they really went over the top with this idea,
b – The fun with historical events and people – brilliant – love it,
c – the stuff with the Athena, and older race – cant take it, it is so stupid it brakes the game to me…
but the worst part (for me) was some flashbacks/messeges and their prise (in some of them) of socializm (WTF) and bashing of free market (again WTF),
that was the point when my bubble of tolerance for odd story choices burst,
I think i got offended, from that moment i started to follow the story with extremly critical approuch… cant enjoy the game anymore… gonna skip this new installment.
sorry for this rant, I guess I got worked up.
Assassins creed 1 was a mixed bag it was good but it had problems but not enough to break the game the first two worlds and when AC2 came out i couldn’t believe the awesomeness of the game then brotherhood revelations came out while good not the levels of epic ness i guess thats because it didn’t have that much to improve on and in the end it left a bitter sweat taste but seeing a numbered sequel i hope that new life into the series and take to new heights
“Nothing is true everything is permitted”
Assassins Creed 1 was the best of all parts in terms of presentation, even if it had some flaws the depiction of the weapons AND the weapon’s accessoires were very good. However after Assassins Creed Bloodlines the series forfeited the correct depiction of weapon accessoires.
Yeah, edged weapons actually need scabbards!! If you have ever worn a sword, which was acutally sharp you’ll understand why scabbards are important.
Yeah but who cares! Such details doesn’t matter right? Therefore each game with edged wepaons is a piece of garbage in terms of depiction!
Yeah, maybe the game is great in terms of gameplay but far from perfect. Oh and don’t come me with the argument “Yeah, the devs should invest more time on other things”.
BULLCRAP! Models are looking freakin’ good and the devs even spent hours to make wonderful skins for the clothes, where you can clearly see every friggin’ lace. WHAT THE? And bare weapons, which floats around the character? Where even PS1!!! YEAH PS!!! 3D games!! HAD THESE KIND OF DETAILISM!!
Ah I’m going playin’ Skyrim! At least there, the devs saw the nescessary of scabbards. Although they were not consistent (friggin’ cliche fantasy weapons, which nobody needs)
Watch Dogs is very intriguing, probably the only one I will get of these 3
was Joe a little bit nervous when talking to the red-haired chick? :p
anyways, awesome vids, thanks joe!
Do you blame him xD
AC3 ship combat!? Friggin’ amazing!!!
Sadly, these are the only games that didn’t dissapoint me at E3. Sure they look great but, in my opinion, the gaming industry is dying in terms of quality. Ever since ps3 came along, most games have been just bland and tasteless.
I remember when I played Pokémon Blue and I never thought anything like “oh, the gameplay is okay, the graphics are meh, the soundtrack is good”, I mean, games nowadays are much more like products to be sold than REAL video games about something.
All I see is a bunch of Skyrims all over the place, milking franchises.
i think that it was the same thing in terms of the 90s as well. with your example you are stating one of the greatest games of the 90s. but if you look at every single game of the 90s i bet you would also say ”a lot of bad games good games and mediocre games.” its just that its games get wayyy more exposure now so then its more identified.
I think I am most excited about freaking all of them I LOVE UBISOFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But all things aside I’m for sure going to get ACIII and Far Cry III. I want to get watch dogs as well but there is no official release date for it yet and to me it looked pretty playstation exclusive to me but we’ll just have to see hopefully it’ll be multi-platform. Cause I don’t have PS3 just 360 but both are great systems. LOL first things first though I need a job to get the money to buy them all.
Its multy, guy was using an Xbox controller, now he may have been playing PC, but I don’t really think they were.
Ubisoft had the best games on E3 and these games gonna be more awesome now after Joe’s interviews, thx man!
BUT I’m mostly interested in Watch Dogs after it showed that amazing realistic graphics and reality! soo awesome, but all the three game gonna be freakin awesome!
Man three games i cant fucking wait for, definatly saving my money for them, great interviews Joe cant wait for more, especially Hawken.
I have a feeling Watch Dogs will be a gem.
I think that what Joe was trying to find out about combat is whether it’s difficult or not cause in previous games it sucked…it was so stupid u literallyjust had to left click.no assassination what so ever because there was no need and even if you tried it it would not be too difficult at all.the game in my opinion was,as joe calls it,-a boring chore…it was repetitive ,dull
These three games are amazing. Ubisoft had the best stuff at E3 this year.
And Joe if your going to review AC 3 you’d better have the right costume.
3 questions where burning in my mind when i was watching the FC3 interview.
Will the enemies be able to see you and shoot you from half the map away the second you cough?
Will the PC DRM make it unplayable?
Will gamers on x64 systems be unable to play the multilayer because FUCK PC GAMERS?
Prediction:Yes, yes, yes. FUCK YOU UBISOFT!
You are an idiot.
you are an asshole the66monkey.
Really enjoyed your interviews Joe, they are really informative, best E3 interviews I have seen.
I just love the passion of the guy from “Watch Dogs” interview! Every time I see a developer who clearly loves his job, I’m sure that the game will be great. It’s just so fun to see that someone puts all he has into his work. “Watch Dogs” will be great, it must be, just listen to Jonathan and you’ll know that if he’s the creative director this game will have all this passion inside it’s gameplay. And hell, that’s Ubisoft, they know how to make a great game.
But I’m not all that happy about “Assassin’s Creed III”, sure it looks like a lot of fun and the naval battle looked amazing, but… ohhh hell, I’m just jealous that it won’t be Europe this time, and my knowledge about US history is poor, but hey, there’s no better way to learn, than while having fun and killing some templars.
Historical accuracy in games, unless one of the key features/refrences. Is very poor and quite funny if you know the truth.
Yeah, I know… But it’s better to play with both, the game and the history. Like with “Wolfenstein 3D” (1992), I’ve killed Hitler, that made me interested in history of WWII, and eventually helped me out in the school years. It’s not the accuracy I seek in the game, but rather an inspiration and curiosity to check out how it was in reality.
Oh yes! I can’t wait for AC III. The stunning graphics will enhance the way we play the game. The naval battles will take us out of what we’re used to and put us in a position that we might love even more. One thing that I know I’m looking forward to in Assassins Creed in the story elements of how Desmond will proceed into his own journey and how the story will progress over the course of Connors mission. There was something in particular about the assassins Creed franchise that it has developed which I think they should take out. The chain kills, it seems like padding on the combat, it just made it too easy!
Somehow I think AC III will live more or less up to its hype it has built up over time. GOOD WORK JOE ON THE INTERVIEWS HOPE WE SEE MORE! KEEP IT UP!
BRAVO JOE! my three favorite games of e3! love to get some new and unique perspectives on them. keep up the good work joe!
hope theres no suddenly bear in farcry 3
Watchdogs is the most original game concept i think iv ever scene it really does show how connected and addicted we are to technology. It kind of opened my eyes to how much of your personal stuff is just out for grabs i mean shit man. really excited for this game and games like this the exclusive games are what is really going to sell the ps3.
And people looking for a pirate game AC3. and i know its not a pirate game but come on the ship battles are going to make you think pirate. anyways game looks great cant wait to see what changes they made to an already amazing franchise.
THANK YOU! I’ve been watching SO much coverage on E3 and NOBODY even MENTIONED the possibilities of multiplayer in Watch Dogs!! (which they clearly hinted at near the end of the live E3 stage demo). That game looks amazing.
Ubisfot Montreal I’m so proud some of the best games are made over here
I love the thick french Canadian Quebecois accent ! And Insurrection is the most sacred and people’s duty… hmm with all the student turmoil in Montreal could Ubisoft be supporting the red squares ? I love it !!!
I asked that question about enemies constantly respawning in Far Cry 2 that it won’t happen in FC3 and I got my question answered. Thanks Joe! Can’t wait for this game. Ubisoft really topped themselves on this year’s E3.
AC 3, I remember, in history, all the ninja assasins during the American Revoution. There were also terminators and preditors. Will they be in there too? I hope the girl that did the interview is one of the attacking cougars they mentioned.
Watch Dogs is the kind of evolution I was expecting from Skyrim.
Throughout the whole ES series I was never feeling this so cold organic story telling because they all amounts to whether you killed a guy or stole something from someone. I expected more than that because people treat you the same aside from some minor comments. There are no solid outcomes from the game so there are no drive for me to explore and do stuffs. This was fine back then but having played various sandbox games and free roaming RPGs I have no choice but to demand more in this day and age.
I hope this ambitious title live up to it’s hype and bring new standards to the gaming industries. Using media such as news and texting to show outcomes of your action is one thing but this ability to shape your world around you is something I really want them to realize. Up until this day players have been allowed to do what ever they want but almost all of those activities were trivial with almost no emotion to them.
Thank you Joe for switching back to the other player. I can finally watch videos on your website again. Also, great job covering Watch Dogs. It was easily the game that caught my interest the most in E3 this year. Will definitely be keeping an eye on Watch Dogs.
Far cry III looks interesting, hopefully they will address the shortcomings of II, Namely the AI and all the driving you had to do.
Watchdogs, never heard of it before E3, but certainly looks like one too watch, just better make sure they can actual live up to their “ambition”
Assassins creed 3… Hmmm, I am unexcited for it, I do believe there will be some attempt by the devs to make the story more complex than, Templars = British = Evil… Connor = American hero = good… They always add in interviews when pressed that he kills plenty of Americans, though I don’t think that has been demonstrated yet, its always been some hapless fool wearing the kings coat that gets the chop.
So they are either lying about having a shades of grey story, or they are just really cynically marketing the game, Lol,” we have no faith in our improved combat and mechanics, but did we mention you get to kill redcoats?”
AC1 portrayed both sides in the crusades as fairly monstrous, the 2- revelations games had the Borgia family, who were corrupt and evil, but that was not the only reason you killed them, and finally the Byzantines, and the Ottoman empire, and I think very few people would be nostalgic about either of them…
So far the marketing for 3 has been the pretty cynical “American hero” line, whatever you think about the history it just seems pretty sad to have to sell the game based on that, rather than all the other aspects of the game which I am sure are great.
I’m pretty curious right now about watch dogs, your interview kick ass joe!
plz do a AClll REVIEW
Thank you for this Joe,
please get us news or interview on Stick of Truth, a game, a South Park game! Game trailer totally intrigued me, they are on E3. Thanks!
That Watch Dogs multiplayer sounds amazing. It would be even more so if they can drop into your game undetected (meaning the game won’t alert you). Who knows who could be tracking you or why…And the way you play could directly affect their playing too. Say someone’s assigned to protect you: Easy enough if you just go for a drive…But what if you go off and start a huge gunfight. Suddenly their skills are put to the test and they’ve gotta kick things up a notch!
Or say they’re assigned to track/spy on you. You slip off their radar and manage to get up behind them: Suddenly the tables are turned, YOU’RE tracking THEM, possibly with intent to eliminate them.
There’s a lot of room for dynamics in this. It’s going to be awesome.
Wow. Watch Dogs interview blew me away! It keeps getting better. Mr. Morin seems like an awesome lad. I’m really looking forward to this. The most interesting part to me is the (still undetailed) multiplayer. From what I understand, it could be possible that I’m on the run from the cops and out of nowhere, a real player (like the one on the roof at the end) could step in and block the chasing police cars, or something like that. It really couldn’t get any better than that.
wohoho.
i could get interested for ac3 just for the fact that red hair is devolping it.
AC3 is a must buy.
The rest not into too much maybe Farcry’s 3 CO-OP mode.
Thanks again for the interview info.
Later
im wery much waiting for far cry 3 but watch dog and ac are not my kind of games.
but anyways ive been following angry joe for a while now and ive been curios about whats the song in the end of hes videos.
so what is it?
that Watch Dogs looks like it might be worth keeping tabs on..
Really looking forward to Watch Dogs. Never expected anything from it until the trailer popped and must say, even though twas just a pre-made demo version to make us want it, it caught my attention in a good way. Love the direction it is going and curious to see how it develops.
The other games are okay, but I’m more a fan of the lesser known gernes & such. Keep up the great work!
I’m really excited for Watch Dogs (along w/ other cyberpunk-type titles that are upcoming, like Shadowrun Returns and CDPR’s ‘Cyberpunk’). From all the games that I saw in the various E3 presentations, that’s the one that caught my attention the most.
Not sure about Farcry 3. It looks interesting, at least, but I’m not sure if I’ll be getting it (probably not on launch, anyway).
I’m not a fan of the AC series, and nothing in AC3 really interests me. The ship combat is interesting (and pretty), but looked too simplistic (having played other ‘age of sail’ games before, like Pirates of the Burning Sea, AC3′s looks too ‘arcade’ in it’s combat resolution…it did look quite pretty, tho’)
Thanks for the interviews/videos, Joe!
