Fantastic game but in my opinion and some of my friends we think main character wasn’t really cool like Ezio.
I also forgot to mention the money. Why the hell they change the money system in this game ???? nobody even cares about money we care about killing Templar sand guards.
The other assassin creed games are hell lot better in gaining money faster just buy a shop and let your workers do it for you and also the trading and crafting sucked it takes a hell of time for god sake and the exploitation about how to do it sucked as well. I only enjoyed the hunting poor bears for money.
The multiplier of the game was indeed amazing and better. I did not found any issues with it but that throwing knife that all players had in start was so annoying because every time people were dagering each other however after few days later I confronted less players who used the damn knife.
Another thing to add on from my previous comments, I noticed one thing that just pissed me off about the AC series. After unlocking the weapons from exploring tunnels or caves, or buying them from the blacksmiths, do you know what the best weapon is? YOUR FISTS!!! Yup! After spending all of that money and time getting these weapons, your fists are the ultimate weapon. They disarm all weapons from most of the guards, and guards can’t block fist attacks!!! Then after 4 consecutive, successful fist attacks, your 5th fist attack knocks him out. So don’t bother buying weapons when your best weapon is with you all along!
So, been playing this for 2 days straight, enjoying the twists so far. It took some getting used to the new control scheme, frankly I don’t see the reason for f–king with the scheme we’ve basically had since AC1, I think Brotherhood and Revelations proved the buttons were tight and frankly though the free running is smoother (hellabetter!) which is impressive, other things that used to be tight are sloppy.
The A.I.: WTF is going on there, I’m with Samuel Adams in Boston, he’s all “It’s about time we showed you blah, blah, blah.” Problem, he never actually does anything to show me anything. Go to the Printer, wait, there’s a roadblock, go this way… But he never says where to go, WTF? And frankly it’s not the first time the A.I. stands there derping around. Back in the “real” world Desmonds talking to his allies and following them, well, he kinda is when he’s not walking into shyte. thanks for letting me jump in to steer him because, frankly the pathfinding is sloppy. I also like how I can kill someone while the british are marching in formation and after registering the first death they ignore anyone else that dies….
Incognito: So, I freed a fort F’d up those british sods and gave the fort to the rebels, so… why is everyone still red? And why when I lure a british patrol into the fort do the patriot forces attack me AND the british? Moments before they were red and not attacking me, now … without touching a colonial soldier I’m the enemy? Really?
Combat: So, let me get this straight, we went from AC1 which was alright and cool, to AC2 which was pretty awesome, to AC:Rev which was PERFECT and bad ass, to… well, Idk wtf… the timing seems off, where before I could block and parry all day, now its just — off. It pisses me off because it worked so flawlessly in the
last 2whole series. And the guns… so, DiVinci made better, faster firing guns then any maker in England or America? Can I travel to Italy and find Ezio’s gun because it was way more effective then these.Free Running: THE. BEST. THING. EVER. Seriously, they may’ve actually made this the ultimate free running game.
Ships: Awesome, I actually enjoy them.
Hidden Blade: Here, I’m going to bitch. What happened to my awesome hidden blade? Granted, I’m still trying to hook blade things when I fall short of a jump (still trying to break the habit) but my hidden blade fighting isn’t as fun or cool. I like the tomahawk, but I WANT to enjoy fighting with my hidden blade.
Tutorial: So, we get a quick run through and thats it? If your new to the series I guess they want you to buy the old games to get proper fight training. No sparring partner, No “trainer”, what the hell, even Ezio had a trainer every game. Conner has to deal with figuring it out in game or I think there’s some blurb about training via the animus, but it wasnt something exactly obvious. And on that topic…
The Animus: This is not a streamlined animus, its not even a streamlined map. Everything feels more difficult then in ANY previous game…thats an impressive feat. I was trying to figure out the ledger and shipping some wood and I literally got stuck on the send conoy page. None of the buttons would back me out, there’s no hint or tip. Who thought that was easier?? There is more information in sub menus but thats not laid out intuitively, its just frustrating.
In all I’m a fan I own the collectors edition and the cosplay hidden blade and the signature editions before this but FFS, they need to ship a patch and fix some of this obvious crap.
Also, I like the fact that I can find and take a hrse at some isolated farm and my notoriety goes up EVERYWHERE. At least the wanted posters in Rome and Persia were easy to find and remove, not so much in the Frontier… where few can read… there are few Printers… yet news that I stole a horse in the middle of LITERALLY no where gets around faster then a text message.
I’m enjoying the game but man, I’m actually relearning and learning some interesting facts about American history (excluding the interwoven storyline, of course), it’s interesting to hear the British perspective (via Shaun) which is something I’ve never thought about.
In all they have a beautiful engine, (for the most part) fun fighting and exploring, but they broke alot of things that didnt need tweaking.
I just can’t miss this one. This is one of ”those” games, that you can not MISS! Buy this… I have a great feeling about this stuff.
This is one of the few games that I will probably pick up when it comes out for the X-Box. It looks clean, and while I may wait until a review or two that I trust, but it looks like one to buy.
I’m wondering how non-American gamers are feeling about this game. Are they really excited to play a game that chronicles American history instead of middle eastern or renaissance?
I really hope you can make a review of this happen after the Kinect games. yes I know we got the Most Wanted game coming, but dude. this game is like on the level of Skyrim (well. ok not FULLY on the level, but you know what i mean. ) ..ok more on the Red Dead Redemption level. and they added a new Co-op mulitplayer experience called Wolfpack.
and like you have pointed out, mini games that are ACTUALLY board games! and c’mon! I know y’like (trying to mimic your accent on “like” is SUPER hard in text!) the Naval Combat! y’like! Yes?
Y’liiiike.
D
So far it looks like fun by the game play and I like how they really revolutionized the ship combat even though the typical Sid Meier pirate game was all right. The new character seems good enough but I hope we still have the fun type of blending in with the crowd and silently assassinating roof climbing action of the other AC’s.Character seems all right and enemies may be challenging with guns etc but I hope the multiplayer still rewards strategy other than recklessness, love what ubisoft is doing with the game and I know alot of other people who are happy with AC3 as well
I don’t think i’m going to buy this game
I have purchased and completed the 4 previous versions of this game. At first, I was completely sucked in! The story modes were great! But then I finished them. I was disappointed that the story mode was gone, and I am completely bored while playing the games because there is nothing else to do. There are side missions to get better stuff, just making the game easier for you. There are eagle viewpoints, but who wants to waste their time doing that? Online multiplayer isn’t too fun, and the mini games lack variety. What else is there to do? Kill the guards? Too easy. I purchase these games for $60 for an awesome story mode, but nothing else to do once it’s over. I doubt that AC III will fix that.
well how about a completely revitalized gameplay system, complete with full controllable naval battles (that AREN’T just one offs either.
) and add to it that this is a completely fresh new story not bogged down by a previous game like Brotherhood and Revelations, which relied heavily on II’s Ezio character. and let’s not forget the fact the game engine is FULLY next gen, allowing us to see nearly hundreds of armed men ACTUALLY fighting the war while we watch. and also you can hunt, trade pelts, dual wield, free run in the wildlife, and it’s even complete with small stuff to do in your spare time like playing an actual game of checkers or unfamiliar games which were big in the colonial times like Nine Man’s morris or Fanorona and…Oh god! too much to say in one comment box! I smell a game of the year right here!!!
That’s what they do with all Assassins Creed games. They add more stuff to it to make it more enjoyable. And it’s some good stuff! But after a while, it gets old.
Sure, it may be next gen, i’ll agree with that. Watching men fight in the background is cool. A little too flashy and unnecessary, but still cool nonetheless.
Hunting and trading? Just like the mini games. Fun at first, but after a while, how can it be fun?
Dual wielding is just another add on. In II you get more weapons, such as dual hidden blades. In Brotherhood you get recruits to call in and fight whatever you are fighting. In Revelations you get the hook blade and bombs. Awesome at first, but then it gets old.
Checkers? Really? In AC? Really?
I MIGHT buy the game when the price has dropped, but i’m still iffy.
This is worth the money and the time to play this game.
I pre ordered this game and im glad I did
Ass Ceek 3 will be the first and only AC I will buy, i dont like ezios games.
You’re making a big mistake (but sure AS HELL don’t buy Assassin’s Creed 1).
