I AM THE LAW! Judge Dredd Movie Trailer Debuts
Here’s the new Judge Dredd Movie trailer staring Karl Urban as the Iconic Law enforcer. Honestly, I enjoyed the Sylvester Dredd Movie more than most, I thought it was entertaining and joyfully hammy. But for those that wanted it to be far more serious, it looks like this one is right up your alley.
Now you may not know this, but this movie’s premise looks EXACTLY like the idea behind the extremely awesome, Raid: Redemption martial arts flick that I was raving about a few months back. It only saw limited release but it kicked serious ass. I’m not sure Dredd can top it being of the same general idea – trapped in an apt. complex our heroes need to go through tons of enemy bad guys to get to the “boss” on the top level. I guess we will find out when Dredd opens in U.S. theaters (2D and 3D) around the U.S. on September 21st, 2012.
Oh and one more thing, I don’t care what movie it is the line, “I AM THE LAW!” should never be whispered, from now on it should always be yelled.

i just found this out that this movie was already in the first stages before The raid came out. And it looks really serious and looks better than the original not saying the first was bad. And does anyone lse think the gun in this one looks like the temptest sub-machine gun in mass effect 3?
As I always say the best stuff comes out of the UK!!
In all honesty, I liked the Stallone Dredd. And this, this one still looks really good to me. It even made me dig out some of my comic, and read them again. I hope they can pull off Dredd good. I won’t “judge” Karl Urban as Dredd just yet. He seems to have the sneer of Dredd down, so hopefully, he will do a good job.
Not bad but what happen to Judge’s gun: a sub machine gun?? Where is the Lawgiver? The one in where Stallone mentioned double whammy.
Also the costume doesn’t look remotely like what Judge Dredd wears in the game, comics or Stallone movie. Judge Dredd looks like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2000AD168.jpg! Not a guy wearing only body armor. Dredd is the type of person who doesn’t talk much and instills fear! Yes, he should have said “I AM THE LAW!!!”
So far the trailer is 5 out of 10.
Stallone did a decent job as Judge Dredd.
All I have to say is that I hope it does keep its humor. I mean “eat recycled food” is funny as hell
why is every one so down on this version and up on the stalone version ? gratned i liked stalone’s version , I really HATE stalone himself . i can’t stand the way he talks in his movies (he deosn’t really talk like that) sound’s like he is talking out of his nose trying to be “cool”. and all around teh stlone version was over the top . perhaps this one will bring things a bit back down to earth. i look forward to seeiing it.

Why bother watching this if you can just watch The Raid instead? Seeing as how they completely ripped off the movie.

I’m excited for this one. I watched the Sylvester Dredd after the Nostalgia Critic’s review and I enjoyed it as well but only for how overly cheesy it was. I haven’t read any of the comics but I once saw a panel where Dredd punched a hole through a guy’s face. Judge Dredd seems like a really badass character so I’m glad he’s getting another movie. I really want to see more of this character.
I’m sorry, but are you guys aware that this movie was written by Alex Garland? You know, the genius behind 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Enslaved.
Now that doesn’t mean that this movie is free from being bad, it just means that there’s an impressive pedigree behind it, and has a much better chance of being a good movie than most. All I’m saying is, give it a chance, it might surprise you.
The city in the trailer dont look like a megacity, to much room between the big buildings.
Both the comic and the old movie make it look like there was no space anywhere for ppl, her it looks like there is lots of room.

Sly is still a better Dredd. Plus, the brunnett from the original was HOT. This blonde is trying too hard.

I know many people have a kind of soft-spot for the Dredd that Stallone brought to the screen, but for fans of the comics… it created a levels disappointment that can only be compared to waking up on Christmas morning and finding a Santa-suit with your father’s corpse in it:
This Dredd aint exactly the comic version either but best of all, for us, this Dredd aint like that Dredd.
Garland’s script is great, Anthony Dodd Mantle’s cinematography is breath-taking; Urban, Thirlby and Lena Headey are perfectly cast: this Dredd will rock, I tellsya!.

Apart from that yay a new Judge dredd film to watch take my money
from the looks of it, this is not a remake just a new judge dredd movie. i mean the story seems completely different so it cant be a remake and the fact that they dont have flying motorcycles from what we see in the trailer maybe its more of a time in the past like before the old judge dredd movie IDK but it is deffinately not a remake of the same movie more like a new chapter in that universe i think.

Yeah, especially if you consider the fact that 99% of all movie trailers follow exactly the same formula to the point of being comical. I nearly laughed when I watched this one.
Looks like “Judge Dredd” meets “Dark Knight”… Worked for Batman, I guess it could work here as well. Both Dredd and Batman are very unrealistic and cheesy superheroes. Pete Travis is no Christopher Nolan, however. The only film I know him by is “Vantage Point” and that one sucked ass.
Alex Garland, the screenplay writer has some impressive resume though. He wrote “The Beach” novel, “Sunshine” and “28 Days Later…” screenplays, among some video game scripts like “Enslaved”. And I like Karl Urban.
We’ll see, we’ll see. I’m not hyped, but this one just might be alright.
O.O looks alot like the Raid: Redemption but with more gun fire. If it has the same action then I’ll be on the first show here.

This is just… wrong. plain wrong..
Without stalone this franchise will never be the same.
Unless Urban can do a very convinsing impression of “Its IMFRASSIBLE, ze ewedense has been fawslified” and the awesome way stalone can say “I AM THE LAW!”, this remake will never reach the epic levels of awesomeness that was the original Judge Dredd.
Well, while it feels odd to hear “I am the law” outside of a yell. I have to admit, at least he’s actually giving dialogue instead of slurring it. I spent half the first one, doing stallone/armand assante translations. So being able to actually understand the lines without a translator is a plus in my opinions.

I really like Karl Urban, hes a good actor. I really liked the one with stallone and hopefully this won’t be a disappointing. Oh and I’d really like to see that Necron looking robot to be in this too.
