this is not max payne
i think it’s hard to come to an opinion on this game. it had ass-kicking graphics, and awesome gameplay. i enjoyed shooting up every dude in the game, and the slow-mo was brilliant.
BUT (the inevitable “but”), it lacks what the other two games had. as a hardcore max payne fan, i was very skeptical when i heard way back that remedy would not make a long awaited third game. and, i guess i went in with very low expectations from rockstar. even though, they’ve made some awesome games, i didnt trust them enough with my beloved max payne. hell, i grew up on those games.
oh god, i missed the graphic novel cutscences in max payne 3. they just seemed sadly replaced by those blurry and annoying words floating around in those flashy cutscenes. maybe rockstar tried to “renew” some of the old aspects of the game, but in my opinion it falls flat. moreover, it didnt feel like max had any real motivation to gun down a whole mob just to save a girl which didnt mean jack shit to him in the end. previous games have always portrayed a true image and a personal vendetta for max, but this game really lacked in that aspect.
i know remedy would have taken max’s story to a whole other way. but it might have been difficult for rockstar as a newcomer to please everyone, it’s just sad that they upset hardcore fans like myself.
any diehard fan thinking the same way as i do? or am i blisfully alone and too conservative to accept change?
Amen, Oscar. A die-hard-MP-fan over here to. I love the game, though i (like everybody else) miss the novel-cutscenes. But MP3 was still fucking awesome! The imperial palace-level is so fucking awesome! Just as the airport-level with the music pumping when you kill the UFE-leftovers. Haha!
My Sister brought that game over for me. When I first started it, I felt like okay. When the first battle started it was like “Hell, yeah! I’m gonna get you all!”
In multiplayer, my bro and I always duel against each other. He’s always dying with a headshot XD
I so love this game. They should make more. But seriously, they should do something about the Cheaters and Glitchers in Multiplayer…

I won’t forget this masterpiece so easily, one of the best games of 2012.
good game but terrible multiplayer and this how the multiplayer is terrible in my opinion as a expert gamer:1.overpowered weapons 2.the game lags like crazy 3.u die too fast -_-

Great game, i love the Max Paine serials but thath dot like a crosshair is killing me, i hate it esspecialy when 20 enemies shooting at me i don’t see anything and in later game when you have laser crosshait it is completely unusuable !!
I say….it was a great game and it made me feel like i was watching one of those old black and white detective shows.
Ok, i bought it and finished it. It is indeed an awesome Max Payne title. I must agree, though, that the story lacks the emotional impact the first two titles had. And throughout the game i had this annoying glitch that would pop up at the most crucial moments! When I am in cover, the controls block and i can’t move anymore, I have to wait until an enemy shoots me into last man standing, and only after getting out of that, the controls function once again. Weird. Other than that, awesome game.

What the hell?! I can’t play disc 2 of Max Payne 3 on my xbox. It kept telling me to play disc 1 so I can play disc two, but I played disc 1 about three times and I’m annoyed of this game and it’s faults. I was busy playing red dead redemption to play MP3, but now I can’t finish it.

I’ll be getting this one out of the bargain bin / used section as well. Big fan of the first two Max Payne’s, but I’m sure as hell NOT paying full price for this. It’s good for 1 playthrough, maybe 2. The multiplayer does look interesting, though….
Oh yeaah… that’s right, they made a movie of this game.. Hm, guess I was so drunk that I only saw the beginning of it, so I had to watch it again, to find out that it sucked so much bull-balls so I repressed it.. oh, well.
Q: “Will you buy this game?”
A: NO! I most certainly am not, but I did pre-order it over 2 & a half year before the actual release.
I got so frustrated waiting, ’cause they kept shooting the release date, in bullet time. But hell, when I got it… PFFT! Forget about it, I’ve never been closer to heaven than that exact moment when I started installing it! =)

This is a great game. I played it on the hardest level when I bought it. I don’t advise it because you die a lot in the game. I know some people didn’t like the art style of this game but didn’t bother me at all. It is a must have for any Max Payne fan or somebody looking for an action game!

Its not the last one there will be a max payne 4 when ps4 and xbox 720 comes out that might be the last one.
The story aspects were good. Good drama and acting. But I wasn’t that impressed with gameplay. This game was okay.
