Can’t Stress this Enough
One simple rule is needed for Team Fortress 2′s Mann Up mode or any MvM map….
Trust me, it’s a rule you should all take to heart.
Now how’s about a mini review of this new game-mode? What? NO? Too bad! So, this new game mode has been out for quite some time, well above 2 weeks at least, and I’ve been playing this NON-STOP! It’s a seriously fun new experience for TF2 and possibly a much needed one.
Mann vs. Machine is in all intent and purpose, horde mode for the game. Waves upon waves of robots come after you with a bomb, your objective is to kill every robot in a wave, before they drop the bomb down the hatch, and blow up your base. Every class can be upgraded and improved upon to help fight the Gray Horde, and to help you last much longer against harder enemies. The game will also throw in support robots against you such as Spys, Snipers, and the occasional sentry buster should an engineer be proving to be effective against them.
A few things against the game, first is difficulty scaling. Should somebody drop out of a game, the horde doesn’t change at all, period. Every map has the same amount of robots coming at ya, so should one or two people drop out suddenly… you’re in for quite the fight, maybe a losing one at that. Second is that you need Mann Up tickets to play the more advanced maps that are available, and a lot of people are confused about how those tickets worked at first. They do cost $1, with item giving Surplus Vouchers selling for $2. This mode however is only for getting cosmetic items, as always TF2 is free to play, but if you want the cosmetic items such as hats, misc items, and the Botkiller weapons, you have to pay to play. So far you can play advanced maps on custom servers, but again, the Mann Up mode is for customizing your classes and extra items.
Overall this is a really great addition to TF2, the fact that now you can play Co-Op with your friends instead of just going Vs. mode is a great idea, especially if you have a bunch of friends playing with ya. This new game-mode deserves a well earned AJS BADASS SEAL OF APPROVAL! It’s still free to play, you won’t regret playing it, and spending a dollar or two can maybe get you some hats.
