The only problem i had with the movie was how ugly the bikes were compared to the comic ones, though otherwise i really enjoyed the movie.

This was the first reboot that actually was better than it’s previous version. A lot of reboots just failed, and this one utterly improved the shit out of the cheezy one. I also wanted just a regular ass version without the 3D.
I wish I could say the same for Total Recall’s reboot…tsk tsk. =D
what a bitch ass for banning canada
“the uploader have not made this video available in your contry”
wtf joe. didnt know u ban your movies from people living in canada…
Oh come on man! ONE!MORE!!SKYSCRAPPER!!AGAIN?? “The Towering Inferno”, “Die hard”, “Death machine”, “Skyscrapper” itself with boobs of Anna Nicole in main role (AND I LOVE THIS!), french movie about the same “La tour Montparnasse infernale” and, finally, “The Raid”, with slogan “20 elite cops.30 floors of hell.”… And now once AGAIN?? NO f*ckin WAY!!! And eternal unlucky number of the tower! And Mama who thinks she`s some kinda female version of “Papa Joe” Stalin?? Is she a victim of brain castration or was originally born with hollow head?? And the chin of Judge Dredd as Judge Dredd!.. LOL!! ABSOLUTE CRAP!
“Really just an obstacle” – definitely!
-*-SPOILER ALERT-*-
Shows it when Dredd figures out that the remote trigger to the bomb won’t surpass the height of the building and thus kicks her out of the window to her death.
JOE ! If you liked this movie ,you will love The Raid Redemption !
Hey Joe. I am a fan of your show and I think your funny as hell! I am planning on going as a Judge for Halloween this year and I would like to know what airsoft gun you used when you were Judge Joe at the begining of the Dredd Review. If you could respond and tell me the type of airsoft gun and the modifications you had on it, it would help me a lot (I just now got into airsoft and I don’t know much about it).
Lars
I saw this film and Angry Joe was DEAD SERIOUS it was seriously ultra violent and he was spot on about how there should’ve been a better back story for Ma-Ma and also about how Karl Urban is the BEST Dredd
IF YOU LOVE ULTRA VIOLENT MOVIES MAKE THIS MOVIE YOUR NUMBER ONE FILM TO GET
there was a comic prequel focused on Ma-ma
can not wait till I get dredd 3d on dvd

It doesnt have a political message and i love it, because it would cheapen the movie otherwise. I agree with them. Its not propaganda.
You gave this movie a high rating, and a fair review but I feel it’s not high enough and not as enthusiastic as I would have been. I LOVED this movie. It is a MONOLITH of design and story and … just good taste. Think about how hard it is to present this, THIS world without making it cheesy and they have done it. Think about those horrible Frank MIller movies and the good, but campy Marvel movies. This feels so much more real, so close to home. 3D is used in a way it has NEVER been done before, with true vision of it’s purpose as a creative tool. I mean, … you know what i’m saying.
this film had a really bad marketing. when i watched the trailer it looked like a really crappy B movie. when i looked at the poster it said “DREDD 3D”. do you remember the old horrible games that loved to use the word 3d, and used the 3d as a gimmick to their terrible games like sonic 3d or worms 3d. this is what prevented me from seeing it in theater. lest night i sew it on blu-ray and i was pissed at myself for not watching it in theater. one of the bast films i saw a 10/10!!! i cant believe that it failed in theaters.
angry joe you are my hero and i shall help you bring down corporate angryarmy ho
its a good movie i may not be the best commenter but im a rookie
Thank goodness the best comic character ever has finally got a film close to what a deserves not that film Stallone creatively screwed up. Poor Danny Cannon.
Nice to see that Burton did justice to Batman to before it was messed about with, but give up with Spiderman it is buggered, was poor to start with, then it went crap then it came back (yes that is true) now it has gone emo.
Richard Donner directed Superman, Burton Batman, then umm Raimi Spiderman, bloody stupid.
It was an awesome movie I just hope that if they make a sequel they don’t screw it up somehow.
Thanks for the spoilers, Douchebag!!
I enjoyed this movie and recommend it to everyone who likes action movies. It’s really well done and Karl Urban did a good character. The only problem I had with him was that he (or the director, for that matter) didn’t get the looks as accurate with the comic character as Stallone who made his jaw really big which made him look more hardcore.
I watched the first thirty seconds of your review and gave it a thumbs down. Sorry, and thanks for understanding and promoting this film in a way that so many others didn’t.
Perhaps, you should’ve watched… More.
one day you should do a angry review of the avengers, because it’s a good fighting movie and it has some parts that are funny that will just get to start laughing.
though that’s my opinion
Joe, … go watch 7 psychopaths. Do it now. Its AMAZING.
Judge Joe? i would pay to see a comic book and a movie be made out of it lol xD
AT LAST! a remake that does not suck
on a side note if they screw up Robocop, my fav movie of all time…
I WILL SUMMON GODZILLA TO DESTROY HOLLYWOOD!
About Robocop, they say that there will more than one version of the Robocop, that he will be upgraded during the movie, so there is no need panic about the “Batcop” that you saw,
Hey Joe;
Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a sandbox style game in the Dredd universe? Kind’ve like Crackdown, I guess, except with…not so cartoony violence and more grit.
Judge Joe nailed it. This movie, though not great, is good. It doesn’t go for gold, it doesn’t fall flat; it goes for silver and locks it in. It doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to the horror of gang violence. The Judges don’t come off as do-gooders.
Which isn’t to say the movie condemns anyone in particular as evil. Everyone is doing what they feel is necessary to live. One of my favorite scenes occurs near the beginning, where one of the goons is personalized and you see that its very possible many of these humans that are dying as they attempt to kill Judge Dredd and Anderson are just normal people trying to make a living.
All in all, good, solid movie that is a great action flick that depicts a post-apocalyptic world in all its gritty tragedy.
how did you not do a batman review
kinda looked like the raid redemption
great review joe! hope there will be more reviews soon! unfortunately we have to wait till november, till dredd launches in german cinemas.
For some reason I wish they used the shoulder pauldrans from the Stallone movie.
You can see the huge pauldrons briefly during Joe’s review, they seem to be only used ornamentally in this movie.
Crap! I want to see that movie (even before the review) but hell now that i know i should go to the cinema… Just CRAP!
The BIG problem is that i live in Russia! And i can only hope that there is some theater in Moscow that will show the movie in English.
Hell, I don’t even remember when was the last time i went to the movies.
Whoever wrote the script for these people in the video was trying too hard to make it sound credible with buzzwords and lines like “I have consoles!” “I’m hardcore!”
Please. Everyone sees right through that junk.
Was trying to post this on the Fable video. Whoops!
Joe, if you liked the simplicity of Dredd’s set up, then I highly, HIIIGHLY recommend you see The Raid. Unfortunately Dredd was being filmed around the same time as the Raid and unknowingly had a very very similar enclosed-trapped in a huge building-theme. However, while i loved Dredd as much as you do, it just simply does not compare to the genius and badassness of The Raid. I’m sure you’ve heard of it at some point last year, it was a big hit with audiences and critics at festivals and limited release. Basically, you are missing out big time if you don’t get yourself a copy and experience what I think is the best pure action film in recent memory.
This comment contains minor spoilers, just to let you know.
To anybody who has read the comics: Who the hell is Judge Lex? He says he has a problem with Dredd, but exactly what that problem is was never explained. Is it just that he’s, you know, Dredd (“THE Judge Dredd”)? Left me wondering.

My and my friends really enjoyed the movie but unfortunately it did really bad in the boxoffice, domestic and worldwide. We may never see another sequel unless more people start spreading word that is a good movie and Joe’s review is just a one small step but if he could influence the whole Angry Army to watch, it might make a difference!( unless they’re too busy playing Guild Wars 2)
“Stop right there criminal scum you have violated the LAAAAAAAAW!!!!”
You know, I like the way they incorporated “slow-motion” into the film. You know anything specifically pitched for 3D is going to have slow-mo action scenes no matter how pointless, so having an in-canon reason for the scenes is a nice change of pace.
Unfortunately, I literally can’t watch a film in 3D (doesn’t work with my terrible eyes, I just see a hazy image and get headaches), so I’ll have to wait for the DVD or a local 2D release to see it. Though I’ll admit, this review is what’s convinced me to give the film a chance, Joe mentioned some things I like that other reviewers have neglected to mention, such as an emphasis on practical effects (I personally love practical effects).
I now have a much larger interest in seeing this movie, thanks Joe!
Nucular? Did you say Nucular?
I think the original Judge Dredd is on alot of peoples guilty plesures lists, that being said I’ll definitely see it this weekend, but i wil probably go see it in 2D to save the extra 4 bucks, that and 3D movies gives me head aches
