Haven’t played this game with the most recent difficulty and character dlc. It was good, but I think the weapons weren’t nearly as good as in the first game. In Borderlands, legendary weapons were appreciably better than lower tiers, while in this game, a lot of them were gimmicky, and my blue and purples were better. This is probably why I got bored so fast. I’ve heard a LOT of good things about the newest dlcs, patches, and updates, so I might have to try going back to it.
This game is the tits! i have everything and really enjoy playing it! to me after the new update 1.4.0 and the last coming DLCs its a 10/10
two. Does one hate conversing to people today?
Then maybe the very first option just isn’t for you personally (and possibly not this position, but I digress)! Glimpse nearly the top of your browser underneath the VS logo. Begin to see the tab that claims instruments? SWEET! Hover your mouse in excess of it and you also will come across several options to aid you these kinds of as the Rules and Regulations plus the Performer Handbook (These would be the equivalent of a handbook offered to you any time you start out ANY career, except they are truly valuable instead of a completely dry read ).
i ordered this game when it came out im still waiting
that sucks D:
finally completed this game with my bro fing ace game love it
So many people love this game, and I know why. It’s a decent open world experience with a few good and memorable characters, and orgy of firepower. But I’m just not a fan. In fact, to me it seems like they just added a few more available veriations to the weapon lineup and gave you a boss with some personality. Aside from that, it’s just the same meat with wheat instead of white. Sorry guys, I just couldn’t do it.
I actually know the feeling. Got bored of it really quickly even with new dlc areas. I’ve heard that there’s a lot of new stuff recently though, so I’ll probably head back in.
I Loved The First Borderlands It Was So Epic I Had To Buy Borderlands 2 And After Seeing The Hidden Ending To Borderlands 2 I Am So Jazzed To See Borderlands 3

A very good game defiantly one of the most hilarious game franchises but just wish the story was longer
Bought it for christmas … it better be good as Joe says it is
Personally speaking, I believe the comedy was pushed in the voice acting at some parts compared to the 1st one. Also the character interaction was very low as in dialogue during the mission which made it boring for me but still a great game to buy.
Loved the game but hated when you got stuck with a god-liath
It looks so good i can wait to get it
Good review. I’m finding I like the first DLC better than the first play through. Better music and environment.
Great review, as always
This game had the same promblems that the first one, theres no challenge, all shops sell shit that you dont need because you get better stuff from the missions all the time, so you all that you can do whit your money is to gamble. And every time you die the game doesn’t punish you in any way, this ruined the last boss battle and the hole game. It does not even matter how many times you die because every time you do you get more ammo and stuff when you respawn, the game rewards you for playing like shit. After i relized this i just but my finger on the trigger on the rest of the game and didnt even care to make any attemp to play good. This made me feel like i was playing doom whit the IDDQD and IDKFA on, except in borderlands you cant them turn off.
And Doom is far superior game compare to this.
3/10
Fuck you Borderlands for wasting my money and time…. For the second time

awesome game and great review Joe.
what’s the song playing during the minecraft part at 12:54
the mechromancer is freaking epic character
if you give moxxi 100,000 dollers she gives you two guns one at fifty for robots corrosive and then fire smg plus it vibratrates so it is a sex toy slash defense weapon
I dont get how they managed to fit over Bergillion gazillion weapons into the game, its constantly rewarding to play this game
They should make CR4P-TP a cameo on the game
perhaps the only game ive played where it never gets boring just pure badassness
very nice review joe! keep it up!
Yes. This game is fantastic. Then Dishonored came out.
You did Xcom Joe, and agreed it is fantastic. We are definetly being spoiled lately.
Having said that, I would be very interested in seeing a dishonored review.
I notice a few people complaining about loot stealers… Bad do anti social gamers make it a bad game? Coz I think that just makes it bad gamers ruining a good game. I know, they could have put in a loot system like Diablo 3 which has individual loot drops, but the game developers did state that they deliberately left party loot in there to reflect the utter crazy, out-for-yourself craziness that is Pandora. And if you don’t like it, just don’t play with random people? Play with friends instead?
It’s a shame end-game play wasn’t taken into consideration. While the game is fine in the first playthrough which last up to around level 30-35, playthrough two is horrible. Now I’m not whining it’s too hard or anything, but you’re basically forced to farm legendaries which have a horrific droprate just to get through the last parts when you’re around level 40-50. Normal drops don’t cut it at all at that point.
Why droprates have to be so horrendously low in a non-competitive game is anyone’s guess though… This also isn’t some MMO so it’s completely unnecesary.
Same goes for the dlc, it’s way too short, and the end-game comes down to farming 2 raid bosses which are just stupid. They’re easy, but they just take a lot of time because for example the second one can’t actually be killed by gun damage (imagine that in a game about a gazillion guns) but in a gimmicky way by letting it walk over acid. That’s not fun…
And to top it all off, because you want to get those legendary guns, they limit your farming ability to once a day, which coupled with the bad droprates, makes it nigh impossible to get the new gear. (certainly not in a reasonable amount of time) The alternative is using crystals that drop as currency, too bad everything costs 120 crystals and about 5 drop per boss, which you can only farm once a day…
The first borderlands got it right. You weren’t neccesarily farming for guns, you’d find them from chests and would keep getting upgrades. (speaking of chests, where the hell are they in borderlands 2!? “I know there’s chests, just a lot less of them compared to the first game) And then tying in gold keys in a gimmicky way to twitter, f*** social networks.
The introduction of a raidboss in both ‘vanilla’ Borderlands 2 and the DLC, and the neccesity to farm and use legenaries to win at an end-game level just kill it.
I’m not saying Borderlands 2 is a bad game, it’s just not the great game everyone making it out to be.
what that the pirate treasure dlc?
12:54 whats the name of that song?
I won’t be getting Borderlands 2. There’s a very simple reason for this. In fact there are a few but the main one is this…
About 20 minutes into playing the first Borderlands online some guy joined my game and gave me an awesome shield, it was pretty much indestructible and shouldn’t have existed, it definitely shouldn’t have been available to a newbie. I don’t remember the stats but needless to say that no enemy was a threat, it essentially put me in God Mode. Cool, you’d think, but it took the jeopardy and therefore the fun out of the game. This guy then also proceeded to bash his way through all the objectives that I was yet to experience, denying me any kind of challenge. So why didn’t I just dump the shield and leave the game to struggle on as if this hadn’t happened? Well would you? Really? Well the realisation that Borderlands was just stats and busy work just burst the bubble for me. I couldn’t bring myself to play it any more. This kind of game engine was used for Dead Island, which I played for a while but it reminded me so much of my experience with Borderlands that it got boring quick. Just to be sure I played it offline so that at least I’d get to see the story unfold before some ranked up ubergeek came in and spoiled my fun. I got about 60% of the way through the main story and realised I had very little incentive to continue.
I can’t get into this style of game after that experience. I’d rather have weapons with stats balanced by game designers rather than clever algorithms just in case this experience is repeated. I’d like to have a fair comparison between me and my friends, if there’s too many random or seemingly random factors in the mix it stops becoming a game of skill and becomes a game of chance.
Borderlands 2 may improve on it’s previous incarnation but ultimately I don’t like the engine that drives it.
During the first game there was a hack that allowed for multiple things. The first game was also not on Steam and could be hacked easier. It just seems whom you was playing with was using one of the hacking tools and cheated with invincible shields. Know where the items came from or they were hacked in. Don’t blame the game for the problem but try again without those items and possibly not with that person but with others that you know aren’t cheating too badly.
I haven’t gotten into this series yet but heard so many amazing things about this game that I am going to get Borderlands 2 soon.
I would SO enjoy this game more…if only friends would play with me.
PSN name: SilentSaber
Just in case someone wants in on this action with me…
yeah I could join you, Ravenheartx123
I might be interested in this game later on in the year. I can’t wait until you review Dishonored and XCOM..
I’ll will definitely wait until my brother gets a copy before I have a crack at this game, the original was so fun in multiplayer
Claptrap and Craptrap are fucking funny
Claptrap is so fucking annoying
+1000.
Shouting and not changing your tone of voice regardless of what happens to you is not really comedy.
are you going to review playstation all stars battle royal?
He doesn’t have a PS3 so probably not.
yeah let me do it for you: it fucking blows. just what everyone expected.
Love it.
Borderlands 1.5, that is the dumbest argument i have ever heard. That is like every saying mass effect 2 is mass effect 1.5… its the same game as the previous with improvements. Really?! fucking obviously! the only reason they are making a sequel is because people liked the first one, and if you change it too much, people are going to hate. Good example of to many things change, Darksiders 2, what the fuck is up with the equipment. Borderlands 1.5, please, stop hating for no reason.
i got the game when it came out and. I. am. loving. it! lol its awesome, love the siren and really loving the mechromancer. though on the ps3 i cant play my axton cause of the freezing glitch going on but still its awesome!
Forgot to mention this on my last post. PS3 version has no problem connecting with friends
Loved the review, Supreme commander.
But please, for the love of all that is holy, bad ass and awesome;
NEVER. DO. THE. GUN. PORN. FACE. AGAIN.
I beg of you, that is pure nightmare fuel.
I hope we’ll see X-com or Dishonored review soon!
sexy guns awebawa !
Great reveiw, and I agree that it’s funny as heck, and we should be able to make our own vault hunter, also at the gun porn thing and the faces you made, when the music playing was sooooo funny, that I fall from my seat from it.
Will buy GOTY same as BL1 glitches fixed plus DLC for less money, worth the wait
Great review Joe. I love the game but I agree there needs to be more customization. The customization options they added in this one are appreciated but if they aren’t going to develop the characters then they might as well go all out and give us full customization.
seriously u played this on…. xbox….
awesome review im getting the game today thanks
Great review Joe, the game kicks ass!
So… this is better fallout game than fallout 3 without fallout elements. Wierd?
I have already beat the game and plan on playing it again…
I loved and 100% agree with your review Joe.
