Ubisoft must have listened about the complaint about White loading screens as they made it darker in the dlc.
personally the thing that ruined this game for me was the assassins you could recruit or the lack of it. I used to love that i could loose my assassins in a fight, say a little pray then recruit more. and i always had the option of picking up males or female assassins then finally promoting them to the grand master and gaining new looks and weapons along the way. but they even took out assassins uniforms in this game, so all the Brits laugh when they see a cook with a cleaver charging at them.
the ending was not amazing but then again this is not the last game. they made it as they did all others a cliff hanger, all the creeds were cliff hangers so I cant agree that the ending was that bad.
Hey joe i think the ship battle is goood but i think when you say assasin games like this i think it should have a lot of fighting scenes and stealth stuff specially the missions should be carried most of the time on night to feel the thrill. i hope this game shomehow should have the qualities of TENCHU,2,3,4. by the way you show is not funny in this review but majority of your shows are damn fucking funny thankyou for that. great job joe keep it up
Good game but something didn’t click for me.Proberly the stupid assassin.
in my opinion this game does not deserve more than a 6. compared to any other AC this game sucks!
I agree with the terrible ending part. Very awesome review!
Haven’t seen the review, but Thank God someone gave it a 7\10.
Everyone seem to be enjoying too much this game for my taste.
I don’t like the USA modern cities (no more nostalgic ones from Romans…).
I don’t like that the game is now getting way too much about GUNS (someday Assassins will be about WWI and WWII)…
I don’t like the crappy story of USA vs British and the Tea revolution….
I don’t like that the game is not anymore anything that remembers “GOD” and the CREATION of everything. The Templar story was lot more powerful than the USA vs British modern story…
I don’t like any of the characters. Don’t see the importance to templars, GOD and all the huge story behind ASSASSINS, with the Indian guy, or it’s ugly RUDE Bastard father….
BUT I like that the game has forest, hunting, making your community, and the new SHIP MISSIONS + Treasure Hunting ARE AWESOME.
ps: Overall it still is a good game, but it’s the first one to have a story that bores me to death. It’s the first one I played stopping and never finished it. (I have lot’s of hours in the games, but I never touched the game for a long time already). For me 7\10 is right for it.
Do you think Assassin’s Creed 4 will have people playing this game killing sharks? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs8612GKQj4 Sharks are already getting hunted and there is a lot of bad publicity for sharks. If there is I most likely won’t get the game.
I am definitely going to get this game but I am going to wait for summer break. Do you think Assassins Creed IV will be better than this game? Should I just wait till October and get it?
Ubisoft saw you said about their naval battles, so they decided to make Black Flag just for you
do you thin Joe will revisit this game taking in to account the tyranny of king Washington?
Honestly, I didn’t like this game and I really wanted to. I put quite a lot hours into it as well thinking that it would get going at any minute, but nope. The most fun I had was playing Checkers, although the naval battles were pretty cool, they weren’t great. It was the point when I had about 100 bodies lying on the ground around me and more soldiers charging over that I thought, my god this game is boring. Combat is so easy, just press the button at the right time and you’re untouchable. I sold the game a couple days after I bought it. Sad times.
idea:wild west+assassins creed=f%$king epic
This game deserves a 4/10 imo. The whole thing, from gameplay, controls, graphics and storyliine, especially storyline, just shows how rushed and lazy the people at Ubisoft are. Rip all the good plot, decent relatable characters and epic environment from the previous AC titles and you get AC 3. Gunfighting in this game makes me feel constipated. How the heck does it take 10+ secs to reload a f*cking gun when in the Ezio’s trilogy, the 15th century hidden gun doesn’t even need more than 3 secs ? The whole wrecked up control scheme, combining E and Ctrl into 1 button ( I played on the PC) and horrible quick item access (Q) where you have to cycle through 10+ items just to get to what you want, and it’s not a small circle in the middle like in the WItcher 2 or previous ACs, the sh*t takes up a whole screen, with blinding transition effects and all, making weapon changing a dreadful deed. The naval battles are OK, but not enough as a saving grace. All hire-able factions/allies are removed, along with all the funs and the laughs. And I just don’t want to get to the plot, oh the accursed plot, with glaring plotholes, no climax and wooden, clueless characters from both timelines. It sickens me just how Ubisoft took all the expectations and anticipation of the fans and turned them into this pile of garbage. The game is totally unmemorable. Not for a second did I feel immersed in the game. I have very little hope in the upcoming Black Flag, because for sure, in less than a year, no way can anyone or any team crop up a decent game. Seriously, Ubisoft can learn a thing or two from Crystal Dynamics. They took their time-4 years dedicated to the latest Tomb Raider and the game turned out to be a huge delight both for fans and critics. Definitely not the most perfect game ever, players can still greatly feel the dedication and effort the devs put in it. Sorry but I just can’t feel any of that in AC3.
They have been developing AC4 for over 2 years. And i have to disagree with you on a certain point. Other than the glitches, the actual gameplay to AC3 feels very smooth and well polished, i particularly liked that they added whole new animations for Connor instead of rehashing the same movements from the other games. Where I believe the developers failed is through poor choices, they chose a time period where it would definitely be a chore to make the buildings and cities look interesting because the architecture of the time was too simplistic, as well they split the story between two characters which further ruined any attempt for us to bond or connect with connor. Most of the games flaws are on a conceptual basis, and it doesn’t feel rushed at all to me it just seems they made a few small bad decisions that make the game feel just kind of off for the series, all in all though the game is still fun as hell to just run around killing guards and such.
