Is It The End Of The Road For End Of Nations?
After a successful closed beta, Trion Worlds has decided to indefinitly postpone the open beta for End of Nations, citing flaws.
It seems all is not well in the lands of Trion Worlds, as it has been revealed that they will be halting all plans to bring End of Nations into open beta as they go back to fix flaws revealed in the closed testing. Fortunately if you are one of the people who pre-purchased the game, you will be receiving a full refund shortly, though it does beg the question of what went wrong? Trion Worlds posted up a small blurb about it on their facebook page, stating:
“Thank you all for your support over the past few months while we have been testing the game in Closed Beta. While we received an incredible amount of positive feedback, the Closed Beta tests also identified several key areas of the game which need polish and improvement,”
“As a result, we have decided to postpone the Open Beta phase of testing until further notice. We will let you know as soon as we have an update,” the message continued. “Those players who made an End of Nations purchase should expect to receive a follow-up email shortly. Thank you in advance for your continued input and support. It is greatly appreciated.”
While it has not been stated what the future of the game will be, and if it will see the light of day once more, it is comforting to think that Trion Worlds will still be working on the game until they feel its ready. I am curious as to what these flaws may have been, as beta is usually the time to begin polishing the game for prime time in preparation for a true launch date. Perhaps Trion Worlds will shed some light on their reasoning in the future.

FFFFFFuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccck!!!!!!!
This is a bit of a shame. I was looking forward to this one. Sadly I wasted quite a bit of bandwidth to preload this for open beta (Not sure how it works in the US but in AU our ISP plans are capped in how much you can download in a month, so in terms of bandwidth it probably cost me about $10-$15 which I obviously can’t get back).
Nevermind, no point in crying over spilt milk, im sure its a much bigger blow to them and I hope they can get it together at some stage.
Finland, unlimited bandwidth 24/7 for 35€. I seriously hope that our ISPs never introduce capped bw.
Considering I never got past the tutorial mission without crashing, more development time doesn’t sound so bad.
i was also looking forward to that almost as much as ANGRY JOES’ HALO 4 REVIEW. jesus christ monkey balls man, cmon!
Damn… I was looking forward to that.
A lot of people were, we were even thinking of having an AA detachment in the game, but we shall just have to wait and see what comes of it.
