The Battle of the Century
Can you feel the storm?!
Gotta love mascot fighting games, they’re the subject of much controversy, butt-hurt, rule changes, and occasionally some fun. Let’s leave it at that.

cool well made
Should’ve ended at the face off frame with ‘Connection lost with host’.
Seriously.
This is how you make an unecessary comment.
Joe finally reviewed something that isn’t for the 360 or pc!? Oh wait..
But seriously, the rivalries where great, except a couple like dante and nariko.
This one was great though. David Jaffe made both blah blah, but Kratos when he’s talking normally and not just yelling or doing the deep voice junk sounds so stupid in the game.
Made the ice cream bully almost perfect.
I’m not Joe, sorry. Though what you say does raise some concerns about Joe’s workload and the games the Angry Army is missing out on for the Wii U and PS3.
Well unless someone takes the other platform’s i don’t think Joe got the time for them also i can not really get into Sony stuff anymore like wtf you guys do to Ratchet and clank and were did Jack and Dexter go? were the cloud games? were is the Juice of the story its non existent in a lot of there new games, the only game i wanna play on the PS3 is the new Metal Gear solid. i cant even get into the wii/ wii U those games are way to childish (not all of them i own Monster hunter)
I have been thinking to do a channel about PS3 and wii games but i have troubles finding the stuff to work whit…. mostly a good camera that doesnt eat my wallet when i buy it since were i live thing arent cheap and so are the games but i would love to be part of Joe’s team and do reviews of games
One day maybe
it’s ironic that’s what this game is all bout. slapping each other until one of them does a super, rinse and repeat.
they tried hard to be as different from Super Smash Bros that they forgot to make the came fun.
Why is Super Smash fun? using your favorite characters from various franchise and actually kick their ass.
The concept of this game was good but the “energy” mechanic and the fact that you dont actually “Damage” your foe its really dissapointing, is not a bad game but its fa for been good.
So, if you don’t mind me asking, why is it you don’t like Kratos?
Basically in the second and third game, his goals and motivations turn from wanting to avenge his family against Ares, to just wanting to cause war, and when the gods say “Enough of your shit Kratos.” he basically has a conniption and vows to kill every god. They did give him some motivation in a PSP port in which they show his brother Demos having lived a complete shit life because of them. That however is a very weak-sauce motivation that came shortly after the 3rd game.
Kratos basically went from classic Greek tragedy character, to a full blown super villain who lashes out at everybody, kills the innocent, and by the end of the 3rd game, destroys the world! He was sympathetic in the first game, but games 2 and 3 and anything else just make him worse and worse. That sums up why I don’t like the guy.
I can agree with you on this phil, he had great character in the first game very human yet badass and you could think, yea if the gods tricked me and burned my families ashes onto my skin i would be upset. Sad how they kind of made a great character into a cliche.
On a side note i miss the old school sweet tooth he was cool as hell. Strange how he started off looking like the joker then they made him look like the guy from the green mile..only insane and kinda eh.
it was actually the gods own fault it happened. they should have let kratos end himself, but gave him god hood. that is pretty much what set him off. the denied him the peace of death with the power of godhood, and then suddenly take it away from him.
not to mention, it was a GOOD thing this all happened. there was a side effect of pandora’s box. when the power to kill a god was released, so was blackest sin. these sins infected the gods, corrupting them. that is why zeus betrayed kratos. actually, from the looks of it, the world was becoming more and more of a hell hole since pandora’s box was released. those mosnters that were attacking the humans down there? they were not controlled by the titans.
You make a good point about Kratos in the first game. Though for the others, honestly, I felt that was because it was his nature to be trained as a soldier/weapon, due to his Spartan heritage, and that he served under Ares for quite a while. That’s why he came off more aggressive that way, and as the others who replied here pointed out, it was because of the pandora’s box situation that things got a lot more ugly.
But I honestly don’t see him as a super villain, he’s more anti-hero than villain. He defeats the bad guys for his own methods and he only kills those who gets in his way. Whereas a villain is aware they’re doing evil things but willingly continues to do so for their own benefits, as well kill anyone just for personal enjoyment. So in a sense, it was both Kratos and the corrupted Gods that were destroying the world, at least Kratos wanted to make amends after trying to save Pandora and releasing the power of hope to the world at the cost of his own life.
But hey, to each is their own. Not everyone has to like Kratos, but I think its just people have their own definition of what makes an anti-hero, antagonist and villain, which really are completely different. Its just fascinating how the last few games gave people different impressions on Kratos. If they managed to do that, then they must be doing something right.
The way I saw it, Kratos started off on good intentions, but one he opened up Pandora’s Box he became as infected with evil as the rest of the Gods which makes sense since he became the God of War. Losing his powers didn’t take the evil out of him, so his goals slowly twisted and contorted into a large mess of insanity and urge to kill until nothing was left standing. It’s something I never saw in a video game before which is why I both liked and hated Kratos.
It’s pretty depressing now that I think about it.
God of War is not about a hero fighting the good fight. It is about a man who seeks vengeance against those who wronged him and in the end is consumed by his lust for vengeance. Kratos was never a hero; he was always an anti-hero.
Well, at least you hate the right thing. Kratos can choke on his own intestines, for all I care.
So this is a hate comic then. Classy…
Tell me… in what way is the comic a hate comic? Answer this honestly. Time for an edit to the post anyway.
the only hate i see is that guy hating your awesome comic
