The Birth Of A Legend
Learn what it takes to survive, in an all new in-depth trailer showcasing the rocky beginnings of Lara Croft.
The new Tomb Raider re-imagining has had a few hurdles to overcome, and has stirred up quiet a bit of controversy for itself yet it seems the developers are looking to bring the focus back to the story and game itself. In a new trailer series for the rebirth of Lara Croft and her career, the game is laid bare and given an extensive in-depth look at how the game will function.
What we are presented with is a rather long explanation of the game and its core mechanics, though I must confess I am most intrigued by the base camp system and the more RPG nature the game seems to be focusing on. Where as turmoil over the treatment of Lara within other trailers was decried as outright rape, this new trailer does a better job of showcasing a lost adventurer out of their depth and doing what is necessary to survive. While the narrator can be a bit droning for my tastes, I personally think the trailer is very well executed and brings the focus back to the story while highlighting the gameplay.
So tell us, what do you guys think of both the trailer and this new reboot to the Tomb Raider series? For me personally the trailer has brought Tomb Raider back to my must try list.

AWESOME!!!
earth fire wind water heart go plant with you power combined im am tome raider
This looks like the Tomb Raider I’ve always wanted; survival/action/stealth.
My friend SaceredWolfPack1 is also excited for this game, and we both really like the direction this game is going witch means less on boobs more on story, characters, and gameplay. An even trade I think.
someone go and tell RIOT games (and most other game comepanies) that Females doesnt always need big boobs to shine
This game looks insane. Lara is hotter than ever
, and I love survival/stealth games. The fact that you have to progress and learn skills makes it even more appealing to me. This trailer convinced, I’m for sure going to pick up this game when it comes out along with Crysis 3!
That game looks good but if they make it a survival thing, I hope the map is big with lot of secrets areas. It does seem like it frome the trailer though. The art design looks good too.
This, unlike many prequels, is pretty interesting to actually see how Lara becomes what she’s known for. So I’ll not buy yet until I see a bit more of it.
I love the original games and I am really planning on buying this game! The gameplay and mechanics of it looks like it fits in my style of games
Actually this trailer does make me want to give this game a try. I never was a fan of the old Lara Croft games I had a roommate that loved these games but the board me to death. I was more into silent hill and resident evil back then but this title looks like there is much more depth to it. Guess this is gonna have to go on my wish list.
Lara Croft is a survival game?! what? when did that replace the action adventure that made Lara Croft games popular?! I hope this game doesn’t have QTEs and still has that Lara Croft feel.
This game is looking great! I just hope they changed that rape scene…
i really like the look of this Lara craft i have played a good few of the older ones and as much as i enjoyed them back then they really didn’t hold a lot at least that my thoughts. i love how this one is darker gritty and mature,as well as how she is learning as she goes.
when it comes to which trailer i like more …i like both really the first one i thought showed how mature it is and how she has to deal with harsh things, well this one does a great job showing off what it has to offer.
Finally a mature lara game.
I’m still not sure it’s must buy, but it definately worth a play.
So… Lara Croft is now Bear Grylls?
Thank you, now i dont have to buy it. Wonderfull spoiler and magicaly dumb ass AI.
wait what
spoiler where?
Unlike most prequels that honestly makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon, this Lara Croft game is something that I am anticipating. Its graphics are great, the story and origin of Lara looks well thought out and the upgrade system seems to be put together. Defiantly something that I will want to own when it comes out.
it looks like an third person far cry 3 and I love this I have already preordered it and cant wait to see your review in march
just from the trailer itself, i feel like i must try it already, i love games with good executed story and their character improvement mechanics.
