Angry Joe and Other Joe attempt to find out if Dead Space 3 can still be frightening with its new co-operative mode. Has the series gone off the rails, or is it merely exploring new fresh territory?

Please review this game it is epic the weapon crafting is awesome making your own gun from scraps it so much fun I made all of my guns from scrap and they turned out awesome. I’ve beaten the game on hard mode and it defiantly challenges you and the boss fights the boss fights are SOOO much fun.
Oh yea and you will have a lot more fun playing this than Aliens: CM. Co-op is a ton of fun, single player is good, and the game as a whole is a great value IMHO. After 3 games of Dead Space I am still enjoying the franchise, and it would be nice to see you review a different type of game. Also it is entertaining to watch you guys play through it co-op.
Yes I agree joe you NEED to review this game it is awesome it is the best one of the franchise the ending is really good everything has been improved lots of people would be very happy if you reviewed dead space 3. It is about 11 to 15 hours if you play co op but it is still a fun game So far this is my game of the year.
You should do a review on this. It would be badass!
I realy dont know what are the people talking about DS3 not being scary, or not like the first, well in my experience i crap the hell out of me just like one did, the sound is amazing and is the culprit of 90% of the fear the game provocs on me, the graphics are amazing, and being fan of god storyes i just fall in love of the lore of this game since the first one, im just in the middle of the tird game, but overall i think is a dam god game. The only grip whit the game i have is that there are big figths to often, the orde mode is just a ltle over used.
Joe, please review this game! i beat it not too long ago, and honestly it is fantastic! i loved it, the demo does not do the full game any justice. the thing you need to keep in mind, sadly the horror focus is about the same as dead space 2 which is okay, since the creepy parts are indeed very creepy! this game was very well executed in my opinion and i would just love for you to review this game!
Just completes Dead space 3 on hard. I’ll keep it brief, but I liked the weapon customisation and first 1/3rd of the game, but the rest made my brain feel like it had been through a blender. Specifically having to kill hordes of axe zombies EVERY SECOND FUCKING ROOM!!!! The sheer amount of tedious, repetitive xeno-killing and back tracking made the game boring and the cool optional objectives feel pointless. I didn’t try online so I can’t comment on that.
In short, theres a lot of good stuff in there, but the repetition (for me at least) makes it feel like a fucking chore. Bullshit rants aside, the weapon customisation was still a laugh, and it’s better than Dead space 2 (low as that standard may be.
It’s not the worst game i’ve played but I wouldn’t call it survival horror and definitely wouldn’t compare it to the original. You will learn to hate the axe zombies too. It took me about 5 minutes.
i never really liked any of the other games
i mite just rent it
Look guys I know a guy who worked for those money craving business scums & from he tells me whenever I ask him about his old job at EA & from what EA’s rep has been these past years, I’ll agreed with most of my angry joe brothers & sisters, Electronic Arts masters the art of suck the video game business dry for it’s money & nothing more! THOSE SON OF BITCHES!
I think the weapon customisation will save this one. I was gonna just avoid it but it at least looks worth a rent. Too bad it’s nothing like the original. EA suck monkey tits, after all, so this micro transactions shit shouldn’t be a surprise. Especially if you remember Dead Space 2 and the FUCKING INSULTING weapons dlcs. Don’t be too quick to condemn DS3, though. If it’s fun (and the dlc is necessary) it’s still worth a look.
Still, I liked the original for being a cross between Metroid fusion and The Thing, with some Resident evil 4 thrown in. This new one looks more like Gears of war crossed with The Thing. With Resident evil 5 thrown in. So,,, yeah. It doesn’t mean it’ll be a bad game (maybe), just that EA are extortionate butt pirates, watering down popular games for profit. But we all knew that, so hey, lets actually see if it’s any good before foaming at the mouth and boycotting Dead Space 3 or whatever.
That’s it. I’m done. With this latest announcement of 12 day-1 DLC’s, I’m officially washing my hands of EA. I’ve been buying their games for 20 years, but I cannot and will not condone these business practices any longer, even to support games and companies I love like Bioware. The flat out slap-in-the-face greed of this business model is just intolerable, and I won’t do it anymore. I’d love to see a Joe rant on this, if he also feels strongly, but in any case, this is the last straw for me. EA is doing their best to ruin gaming, and they will not get a cent from me until they shape the fuck up and treat us with any modicum of respect. They care nothing for art, or advancing the medium, just their fat bottom line. There is no defense, there is no excuse.
Can’t say I disagree with you. The gaming industry went from fun gameplay, interesting story and passion for both to a corporate sell-out that only cares for it’s profits.
This game looks great so far.
Angry joe, Why u dont have any Zelda Or DARKSIDERS REVIEW??
if youre worried about dead space 3 npt being the same read this! http://www.insidegamingdaily.com/2013/01/23/dead-space-3-single-player-preview/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=dead-space-3-single-player-preview
this game is leaning in bit more action direction but from what i could play i thought it had potential to be honestly a good game i have no idea what to expect with these micro transactions they could be detrimental or they could be a good addition but who knows all i care about is the gameplay horror and co-op which does not seem tacked on at all and all i can not wait for this game to come out
Since they just recently announced Micro-Transactions this game. I can 100% garantee this game is going to be abysmal.
Dead Space 3 has to sell some 5 Million copies to break even (Which is nuts since that’s more than what the first 2 games sold in the first place.) Which is why these Microtransactions are probably being added in so you can get resources, mainly because EA is afraid it’s not going to make it’s Sales Quota.
Now, to make these Microtransactions viable. You have to restrict how much resources they are in the game now. If resources could be easily grinded then whats the point of buying them in the store, right? Also no idea on how this works for multiple playthroughs of the game. Are the resources restricted to only one file in the game? If you want to Co-op with 2 people and your are playing at different points in the game. Guns will either be severely overpowered or horribly underpowered, just breaking balance immediately and it becomes frustrating.
And now the biggest Sin of the game. Adding Microtransactions kills the Survival Horror atmosphere. When a Necromorph kills you, your not going to feel the dread that it’s just something you can’t kill. You’re going to get the thought that “Jeez, if I spend money on some resources I could craft that Rocket Launcher add-on to my pistol to kill this necromorph”. Essentially, all survival horror elements of the game are now gone. It is just a bland action game, one with Single Player microtransactions to actually play the game, pay-to-win essentially.
Screw you EA, not buying your Dead Space 3 at all. I’ll go my way to tell everyone else not to buy it either.
the micro transactions do nothing to hurt the game. spend all the money you want and build any weapon you want and it wont make the game a breeze on hard (which is what i played it on). all of my weapons had max damage (without ever spending a dollar) and they still take multiple shots to go down, still require ammo conservation, still are fun to fight. Not only that but the items are plentiful if you use your scavanger bots every time they are off cooldown and you search around for items, they didnt do the #1 betrayal by making items scarce forcing you to buy items. The only time i was ever low on resources was in the last chapter because i went a little trigger happy and got hit way to much chewing up my health packs.
Hey Joe what are your thoughts on Microtransactions in this game (as Jesse Kay has mentioned).
Well for me I think I will go as far as to boycott this game, which will be extreme as I liked the first and second games. Being a passionate gamer I find this completely unacceptable and morally wrong!!
Dude, Joe, you’ve gotta do a shpiel on Dead Space 3 having microtransactions. Isn’t that just a great idea? A survival horror (though one could debate the genre at this point) game where you can just pay a few bucks for resources instead of, you know, survive? Pathetic.
Im just upset theres no mulitplayer or horde mode.
the badass reference at the beginning of the video is voivod. one of the most influencial metal band.
I think that people are putting too much expectation with coop and a horror feeling. It’s like a little kid who is demanding that he have the ‘perfect’ toy that will satisfy him.
From watching this demo, it doesn’t look like coop will in anyway change the horror prospect negatively. The past dead space games were scary to me and simply adding a partner is not a negative, but rather a positive.
In fact, what makes a game have that horror feel is the environment. The silent dark corridors, the unexpected jump scares, the eerie music playing in the background, and not to mention the ugly mutated necromorphs.
I have good expectations for this game and seeing this demo is making more excited for it. I can’t wait for it come out!
lol Riddick reference XD , wait Riddick has something besides the Vin Diessel movie? i never investigated anymore besides the movies ..i should watch them again someday.
i dunno at least by this demo, it looked like the Co-op could have some good jumpscares, besides it seems it doesn’t keep your partner close enough to feel safe
It’s a world all of it’s own.
fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuck Lost Planet! When I saw the ice planet demo the first thing that came to my mind was John Carpinter’s The Thing (which was one of the insperations for Dead Space) so the developers aren’t intentionally making this like Lost Planet. And from what was shone here the devs are bringing in more elements from The Thing. Like when you shoot parts of the Necromorphs those parts come to life on their on and adapt that shit is cool and scary! The possiblities for when you dismember enemies could be endless (hopefully). I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
It better be a good game,
The previous two games, which i enjoyed playing, only lasted 8 FUCKING HOURS. Come on. I even spent $100 CDN dollars on the Dead Space 2 Collector edition. Ripoff.
They better make it 20 to 30 hours. At least. NO excusses.
That would be cool. I remember the first Unreal. It took me more than a month to play through. Lost my feeling for time doing it, so I have no idea how many hours it had. But that times are over. Today I’m pleased when a shooter-like game has 8 hours. Games with more are only open-world. I know every open world game gets a 10 from Joe, but it’s always the same. Main Quest takes 3 hours and then 47 hours with stupid repetitive sidequests.
DS1 with its 8 hours isn’t at one single point repetitive and it has extreme high detail in every single scene and the best sound effects in history of video games.
The only way to play is PISTOL ONLY on Zealot.
See if you can do it in 8 hrs now.
You know, the movie the thing 2010 (i think is 2010) the mosnters are made by the art designers of the first dead space?
this game is looking good is not anymore horror is more like horror-based action game. but still awesome
Hi, I have a question for you. Why don’t you review any of the racing genre games? (That Sonic ‘broke’ game doesn’t count) Especially Need For Speed Franchise, That game is available in 360 and PS3.. Hope can see those reviews in future..
this game looks really good I liked the second one and in this game I can see a lot more cooler features I really like the environments in this.
