Thanks for every other great article. The place else may
anybody get that type of info in such a perfect means of
writing? I’ve a presentation subsequent week, and I am on the look for such information.
So, I bought this game on Amazon for 11 dollars, after hearing that gearbox fixed up the pc version and seeing the low price tag I went to buy the game, I knew what I was getting into.
What I didn’t know, is that the main reason to get the game, multiplayer, HAS NO ONE FUCKING PLAYING IT. You have to be online, at certain times when an influx of about 200 people supposedly start playing.
From what is starting to come out it seems that this is NOT a gearbox game, according to one guy who says he actually worked on the game gearbox took the money and used to for Borderlands II while subcontracting it out (at budget title rates) to TimeGate who has now closed down.
Its a shame but we’ll see if this is true in the court case, but if it is that is pretty sorry of gearbox.
avp 3 aliens were more smarter and I think avp3 looked better to
I could have cried when this came out, just disappointing. I realize that I had it in my head that it must be an amazing game and maybe even the best game ever made but that comes from being an alien fan. I could say that Im disappointed because its not what I hyped it up to be but even so its plainly a horrible game for any game and for 6 years development its unbelievable.
Now it seems like someone is trying to bring a class action lawsuit to Gearbox and SEGA for false advertising. They definitely dropped the ball on this and there are some rumors that Gearbox basically yanked a lot of the budget away just so they could get spend it on Borderlands 2 and the rights to Duke Nukem.
i can still remember my first nightmare i was in a xenomorph hive and was being chased bye aliens that has stuck with me forever i love this franchise to death and after i played this game…woah i am not mad at randy but actually sad for him he has to take all this shit but for good reason i guess but this game is god awful just a shame
despite the companion AI and the final Queen battle, I liked the game. I am a major fan of the Aliens and Predator franchises and can see the direction they are going in. Granted I am not as picky as my friends, so I end up loving games others hate, (you know that guy that loves Marmite & Anchovy sandwiches).
I think people just need to calm down.

I take back wat i said. The AI is AWFUL!!!! Fucking humans?? Aliens just charge ur position. Thats not Aliens! The Xenomorphs are NOT stupid!!!!! Story doesnt make sense. Changed my review to a 3.75. Terrible effort. It was good on paper.

This game is pretty good, the one thing that just KILLS it is the fact that ur fighting HUMANS!!!! WTF?? This is ALIENS!!! And the thing is, the humans are actually harder than the Aliens!!!!! Environments are cool, multiplayer is good, AI is not terrible, but not great either, and guns are sick! Especially movie weapons. I give it a 5.75.10, ok effort.
I’ve found this site only today after watching ME3 review. Thank you guys for making such videos, I feel like Joe is expressing what I myself feel. That’s amazing. Now the thing that bothers my mind – do the developers watch these vids and do they care about how to do good games? Any influence onto any dev team?
Anyways, thanks again and keep up the good job! Hopefully some dev team will watch this and make a game that will be a real game, not some sort of shit that PR’ed and stripped us off of our hard earned bucks.
The problem is the way games are developed today. It used to be a bunch of passionate people working 20 hour days so they can make their game as good as they can imagine.
Now people get moved around, projects lack drive and focus, publishers have to have their boxes ticked, no one wants to take a risk and the end goal is to make as much money in the shortest amount of time.
Companies like EA are the reason 90% of games are utter shite.
I feel your pain Joe, I pre-ordered and everything. and i haven’t even finished it. couldn’t get past how disappointing it is. it just enrages me when a game with so much potential is half-assed and mishandled.

Damn it! Why do these guys always mess up Aliens?!?!? What happened to having that feeling of dread and tension when something that you have no idea what it is suddenly drops in and tries to kill you? What is this, Call of Duty: Aliens (Not Really) Edition? This thing had some good ideas, and it pains me to see another Aliens game fall flat on its own face. Well I guess we’ll have to wait for the next game… ugh…
This is my favorite review to date… Aside from Sonic Free Riders, of course. Not sure what happend here, if it was all the outsourcing or Gearbox focusing on BL2, but it happend poorly. This game was supposed to be THE Aliens game! I feel your pain man… this was some major bullshit.
this is gunna sound dumb but i think it would be col to have an open world AvP game where it has some RPG elements
They should take dead space (the origional) and make it into an aliens game. Most of the concepts are already there and the AI is really good in my opinion. Add in co-op abilities and multiplier competitions and you have a great game there
I actually per-ordered 3 of the collector’s editions for me and my brothers. My gamestop manager was not happy when I asked for my money lol. I still can’t believe this was created and released the way it was. For almost everything the team talked about in interviews they did the opposite in the actual gameplay. A major disappointment

The only way I can play this game is with a cheat, because I’m not even gonna lose time trying to pick ammo in such a boooooring game.
I thought Joe kinda looked like a soldier from XCOM without the pulse rifle, in carapace armor. Luckily I knew what Aliens was and didn’t post a blind comment like “There’s already another XCOM?” lololol

Nah. Even though gearbox is making bad games like this. They still are my favorite developers because of Borderlands 1 and 2.

Ive been a fan of aliens since the first movie and was all hell yeah about getting it home and playing it on Day one. Then just jaw dropping crap on a CD. I feel like beating someone’s ass with the cover. Death by shittie ass game. Maybe catch one of the retards that crapped out this game in the parking lot.
Heya Joe, I have to say that I went with everyone else, I pre-ordered it and was hyped about the whole thing. I spent the $60 that I didn’t really have, took the day off of work, posted on facebook and sent out a mass text about how cool it was, and excited when I bought it. Not sure when the last time I felt like as much of an ass as I did then… I was so excited, even given the struggling AI, after completing the first level, and figured this was going to be awesome! But, the minute the PMC’s showed up for more than 10 minutes, I started to grow concerned… and after two (2) levels of them, I was very disappointed. The multiplayer was interesting and fun, especially the Marines survival and extraction modes. But I told myself ‘it’ happens, and was going to just beat it, complete the achievements (Xbox 360) and put it on myself as a ‘cult game’; I’ve got a couple.
But, did you know the most horrible, disgusting issue with this game, one you haven’t mentioned and I haven’t seen on any of your comments…? When I went to continue my game a couple days later, it showed ‘no save file’, so I had to restart my campaign; eh, figured things happened and I played for a few more hours. A couple days later I went to complete the game, and found again, ‘no save file’. Even noticed my multiplayer data was gone… WTF I said… Come to find out (as so many fans were upset with the game after release, that it took a week for this to get noticed), the game doesn’t keep your ‘SAVE FILE’ on your Xbox, it’s all cached with Gearbox/Sega. But there’s a bug, and not everyone cache file is saved properly, and won’t download, and when you shut of your Xbox, you lose everything…
It’s now 3/17/13, a month after release, and there’s still no fix for it, and the technical posts on the forums stated it ‘still being looked at, with no fix in site at this time’… You want to talk about a broken and unfinished game… Here you can’t even save your games…? WTF? Yeah, massive deal breaker here if they can’t make a game where you can save your data, not to mention it’s 30+ days and this hasn’t been corrected…
It’s beyond sad.
That’s stupid. Is it just me, or are game developers just lazy.

When I played Quake 4 (wich was my first XBox game [which I couldn´t even play at first because of the ring of death]) I had that same problem.
What a luck the console itself did well after all.
A tip for everyone: Please don´t cling to a series too much. We live in the age in which developers would rather bring out a crappie ass sequel and BURY AN ENTIRE SERIES for a quick handfull of dollars then seriously concerning their fan´s interests.

So i waited 6 years and ordered the collectors edition after seeing the E3 demo i was pumped for Feb 2013. 3 hours after purchase and i had already completed the campaign! wtf. also bringing back hicks how dare you when i saw alien 3 for the first time and seeing hicks dead brought a tear to my eye, now i find out he was really alive and set of the eev is just blasphemy to the cannon. I agree the raven level made me crap myself on a number of occasions and was by far the best level in the game. So i went to multiplayer hoping i could get a lot more game time out of it, but wait i cant as its sucks, yes the marine side of it is good and escape mode make me piss myself, the whole third person alien bullshit pissed me the fuck off. why did they have to change it from fp? Randy Pitchford there is special place in hell for you for ruining the supposed sequel of one of the best sci/fi action films of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so hyped about this game and thought this would be the game off my deams after being a massive aliens fan. Joe sums it up at start of his review “you fucked it up”
To be the graphics sucked on the 360, the gameplay was far far to easy even on the hardest setting, what where they thinking?? Multiplayer was hardest part in my eyes.
Read about the launch of dlc for it I don think I will waste my MSP on it. Huge let down

1. Third person to feel like a scary monster? REALY ?
2. Imposible to climb on wall when there is and object next to a wall.
3. IT IS imposible to run from angry marine trought the cieling to a next room and this way instantly position above the door and kill him when he enters. CAN NOT BE DONE TRY IT. thir person camera starts spining and doing stupid stuf, controlls become iresponsive. Nobody is used to look up in shooters. this was the best way to kill shooter fans in AVP2. WTF was wrong with AVP2 alien controls that they had to change it. IDIOTS.
