Week 2 of Blood Bowl has Joe go up against the very dangerous Lizardmen Team of Wowcrendor! Could this be a preview of a future playoff match?

Man I’m loving the Blood Bowl videos. They’re absolutely excellent and you should keep them coming. It annoys me when people complain and ask for reviews. If you don’t like the video, then don’t watch it and comment. Plus I love when he screams into the mike and insults the other team. I find it hilarious and it’s just good fun. You shouldn’t take it so seriously. But anyway on to the game. Overall it was quite good though you did make some mistakes but I guess that is understandable. I mean the Lizardmen were just released in the new Chaos Expansion but meh, whatever. Anyway, this is the major problem with you from what I saw. You ended up trying to beat on the Saurus’s and marking the Skinks when you should have done the opposite. The Skinks will be able to dodge out of all of your markings but if you beat on them they will always be down. The Saurus’s will absolutely demolish your guys 1 v. 1 besides the Flesh Golems but they cant dodge out of anything for s*** as they only have agility one. There was also a problem with what you did on the setup. Now the overall setup that you did was fine and countered them pretty good; however it all got ruined when you moved your zombies up by the center. You shouldn’t have followed as much as you did with your players with the exception of the Flesh Golem to mark the Saurus’s and give assists. You should have let the Saurus’s come to you and that would have let you hold the center better and allowed you to put your Wights and Werewolves on your flanks to allow you to head up for the Skinks. Other than that I cant really say much other than excellent video. Keep doing what your doing and keep up the Blood Bowl because it’s awesome. It’s a shame though, if you hadn’t messed around in the beginning you could have won. (Even though I was on the edge of my seat begging you to do it.)
That one guys laugh is going to kill me!
Crendor is one of those Love or hate people. There’s no real middle ground.
No reviews… no PS4 coverage or impressions, no movie reviews…
NO REASON TO VISIT THE SITE!
Get your shiz together Joe… I like your stuff!
nice trolling bud
While i love you joe! i have to disagree with your ranting on lizard man team, the saurus have NO starting skills… so only advantage is strength, do have a disadvantage? yes a 1 agility yes 1 agility… and skinks? stunty=more injuries and deaths i’d say are a tough team, but far from broken… certainly not half as tough as chaos dwarves… i just think necro/undead are one of weaker teams.
It is as he said, the Necro and undead teams need time to get good, you have to get them skilled/leveled up, and early in a series/league they will get some nasty losses.
Lizard, Chaos, things like that, start quite strong, even without skills, and just get better, it’s like he said in the other game with the Norse, their new player teams. And while yes, Stunty does get you a lot of injuries/deaths, at the same time it’s rarely due to them running around, more to you getting them in a bad spot and them getting creamed.
I play undead in the table top and often in bloodbowl, I like that I cant steamroll things until much later, but that’s just me. But when you are in a league battle like this and are getting guys killed early due to being that far out gunned, your going to get irked and start crying foul. Will you feel bad about it later, maybe. But I know there are some games I just wont play because I know the cheese being fielded. Like all GW games there isn’t much balance present, a lot of it comes down to skill, something Joe was trying hard to compensate with, but THAT many saurses are just a pain
And while Joe may have been more vocal in his smack talking, it seems like he and most of his friends are like that and never take it to heart, I know plenty like that, most of them ex-military.
Raging and screaming when you’re taping this for an audience is not having fun, neither is insulting your opponent..
Guess people really dont like that Joe is having fun with a game…there are times when random chance makes you cheer and curse, and his buddy didnt mind, just turn the bloody volume down.
Yeah…let’s make excuses for poor video editing and annoying commentary… because you know… we are worthless!
Try headphones, like I do!
Joe, I get it that you are excited, but screaming into the mike on EVERY FUCKING ROLL is really annoying. I get it, you are “Angry” Joe, but its nearly unwatchable with sound on.
Also, calling your opponent’s team cheap and noob and OP every turn is pretty bad sportsmanship. Even if it is for fun, its kinda dickish for anybody that actually likes playing lizardmen.
I’m a big fan of AJ and Bloodbowl in general, but I think I may skip out on the rest of this series. And its a shame because the last BB game was a lot of fun to watch.
In case you haven’t noticed… there is nothing mature about Joe… it’s too be expected, and it’s sad…
Wish he sticks to reviews… and make some before the sun burns out…
And it wouldve been nice if you at least gave an introduction as to what this game is, how you can obtain it, why you are playing these people, who they are, what type of tourney???
Those battles on x-com enemy unknown (and war of the roses) were way cooler because we actually were told something about the game and the competition….
Hey, love the fact you are playing Blood bowl, I been playing the game since release with my friends since release.
I know the xbox sucked, but the PC is great, and with the new version that has more races, it is a must buy for 30 bucks for strat fans.
Also always goes for the 3 dice whenever possible.
Also, Orcs FTW
Joe, you had the game man! If you weren’t down on your team so much you would’ve had a better chance at winning. Blood bowl is extremely similar to chess when you think about it. Wherein 90% of the game is your knowledge and intellect and the other 10% is psychological. You lost the psychological battle straight off and put yourself at a disadvantage. Blood bowl is a game of pure luck as well admittedly. Heck, even the experts say that you can control this to a certain degree by setting yourself up to make the lowest amount of dice rolls possible. Aw well better luck next time, I’m still rooting for you!!
So close! Great game.
I think if you’d pushed skittles back towards his own half instead of towards the end zone on his last TD he wouldn’t have had the MA to get there, even with a 2 square go for it, and you’d have had an extra turn to try and take him out. It’s hard to see all these little details when the timer’s counting down though.
This is wonderful. No better way to spend the sunday evening then by watching the blood bowl leage. I didn’t even know this game existed before these videos, now I’m kind of thinking it might be worthwhile to try it out. Ofcouse, I don’t have anyone to play it with, and you can’t really have fun if you don’t know the other people before you play with them.
A comment reguarding the so-called “risk” in the game. Do you guys even think about the future? For example, in this game when Skittles (or whatever is it spelled) was running south, Joe moved a werewolf out of the tackle zone of that big lizard with the tail (I forgot the name). This maneuvre predictably ended in the werewolf being banged on the head and, MORE IMPORTANTLY, freeing up *BOTH* sauruses without them suffering ANY action point costs at all. A far better move would have been to just leave the werewolf there. He would have still been knocked down, but it would take one saurus to do it, leaving only one saurus free.
There are other examples of this at play. And the reason this happenes is because, to win, you must develop the subtle skill of NOT FUCKING MOVING IF YOU DON’T FUCKING HAVE TO.
I have played a lot of strategy games in my time, and some of my greatest victories have all involved –literally– standing still and waiting for the oponent to make a move, because in those situations any move other than standing perfectly still was a bad move.
Or, as Master Sun would say: “Invincibility is in oneself, vulnerability is in the oponent.”
he took his chances Crendor was going to score
But he didn’t have to. And that could have put him in a better position.
Now, granted, that one move can not be viewed alone, without the context of all the previous moves and turnes.
This Bloodbowl game 4/10.
This Bloodbowl game with Joe’s banter 11/10!
might have thous backwards…
Hey Joe, what do you think of the latest version of Blood Bowl for the PC? I know you hated the Xbox 360 version. Just curious.
Great match! Probably the most anticipated of this week. I think you’re still safely in the playoffs along with Crendor and Total Biscuit, but you’ve gotta stay on your toes because SideStrafe is next, and he’s not bad. Hopefully you’ll have a couple of easy wins before facing Biscuit, because that’s going to be brutal. At least you have a regenerating team which is virtually impossible to clear off the field.
Although said regeneration only worked in about 1/2 of cases.
Seriously people, you should consider learning how assists work. Positioning your people wrong and then wondering why you still don’t have two dice is getting old quickly
I’ve done some brushing up and since ive now got 1 loss, you wont see this sort of mistake again. I played too friendly and for entertainment with that pass attempt =)
Phase 1: Write half insulting comment.
Phase 2: Get reply from Angry Joe.
Phase 3: Sqeee like a little girl!!
I wish you luck in next matches!
Yes! We don’t want to see funny banter, want to see some funny banter AND stomping the opponent into the ground.
Allow me to sperg out for a bit to explain the problem with Joes setup at the beginning. I want to do this for people unfamiliar with the game because it happened so often in the league. If Joe says he brushed up this won’t be news to him.
At 3:22 Crendor has 4 Sauruses with Str 4 (S) and 1 Kroxigor with Str 5 (K) on the line of scrimmage in the following formation:
‘_’ being empty spaces.
At this point Joe as the player recieving the ball can set up his players in any way to try and counter that. His bashier players are the Flesh Golems with Str 4 (F) and the Wights with Str 3 and Block (W). He also has a bunch of Zombies with Str 3 (Z) that are mostly there as extra bodies on the pitch. Leaving out the rest of his dudes his setup at 3:22 was.
This gives his Flesh Golems one assist by the Zombies next to them so they would have both had 2 dice on a block against the outer Sauruses. You get an assist on an enemy for each of your players that is next to that one enemy only except for the one you are actually blocking with. You can also get negative assists by enemy players that are only next to the player you are blocking with. Each positive/negative assist gives +/-1 Str to the blocking player. Sadly Joe then decided to move the zombies further to the center next to another Saurus cancelling the assists. The best setup would probably be
This way the outer Zombies could move next to the outer Sauruses giving the Whights each 2 assists. The Wights then knock down those Sauruses which allows the other Zombiesto move in and assist the Flesh Golems on the inner sauruses.
In Bloodbowl it can still fail if you roll skulls but at least you always have 2 dice on your blocks. And the sauruses you knocked down can’t all get up and block in the same turn so your guys also get punched less.
I will add here one important detail, that many players in this tournament forget: Players in multiple enemy tackle zones won’t give any assists, unless they have a Guard skill!
So if you want to gang up on somebody, then position your assisting players next to the player you want to block and no other enemy.
In Joe’s second to last round I think I saw one chance to tie the score, although it would have been risky not that the risk would matter at that point, I don’t know if Joe saw it or not, if he saw it he might have ignored it cuz of the risk
YES MORE BLOOD BOWL!!!
