Somebody tell me this. Lara must have climbed mountains, towers, etc and used survival instincts whenever she’s alone, right? like in Lara Croft movies? I really don’t get the “rip off of Far Cry 3 or Uncharted game.” Is this game seriously a copycat? Any game could be a action, survival game.
Seriously, somebody tell me how this game feels like Uncharted. I played the demo of it before and not even once did I compare it to this.
The same reason they’re comparing Watch Dogs to GTA: they’re idiots that don’t know anything about either game.
They stripped everything unique from Tomb Raider’s gameplay and made it like Uncharted. The climbing and puzzles are dumbed down for people who have never played Tomb Raider, and half of the time the game is playing itself.
Now, onto Lara, she’s no longer the bad-ass, mature woman I knew and idolized and is now a young, incapable, emo teen angst who bitches all the time and apparently goes out clubbing and used to be a bartender, and looks like the Hunger Games chick (even uses a bow instead of her dual pistols). The dialogue and characters are cringey and feel like they came out of a bad, corny horror movie.
Only pro I’ll give it is when you find an artifact it shows it close up and describes it.
I don’t get it.This game sucks and I have played it for longer than 5 hours. You can’t compare this game to the caliber of the Uncharted series.
How does this game sucks?
the game does not suck i mean i think joe was i little 2 enthusiastic reviewing this game, it was like a solid 7 no more no less. butt you are right uncharted was more like a 9 or a 10, easly!
I agree with you, and I also think this game borrowed too much from
far cry 3. With the setting, hunting, and perk system. They even have a part where Lara climbs a radio tower. If this game is a nine then there are other games that should be tens.
So because she climbs one radio tower as part of the story, it is a Farcry 3 rip-off because Jason climbs radio towers as well? That logic is absolutely retarded.
I saw some people on the internet compare this game to Uncharted. I want to tell you this, that may be or that may be not, but Tomb Raider has always been a survival action game. Trust me, I watched Lara Croft movies before. Anybody can make a game with similar gameplay and there’s nothing wrong with that (unless you make it exactly the same with the different story). I don’t see anything wrong with this game and I didn’t compare it to Uncharted either.
how about dead space 3
The game is overly complicated . Very annoying. This is waste of $60.00
The game is overly complicated .
Can you not overcome it? Games with no challenge equals super boring!
How is it overcomplicated? The only way it would be is if you’re completely new to gaming.
My first impression of this game was “Oh cool they finally think of a female surviving instead of a male.” After I played the story “Where’s the rest?” This game left with excitement, thrilling graphics, and a spectacular ending. The only thing i wish more of the game is for a the ability to fight after the ending. I hope they come with a Add-On for the single player to bring back the Solarii because the experience was amazing. It made me feel like I was actually in the game. You can experience the journey with first Bow, soon with humans in the game then you get the handgun, after a rifle from a Solarii for the sight of your dead body, then ending off with a Shotgun from a dead soldier. All these weapons are able to be upgraded at the base camp from the section gears, but they do make it a little difficult to get the parts of the weapon to unlock more upgrades. The tombs are also amazing i say they could add more, but they are still astonishing to me. The multiplayer isn’t as bad as people say. There may be some glitches with 2 Add-On’s, but you’ll get over it or used to it. It’s still an amazing gameplay. Anyway I HIGHLY recommend to buy this game. If you don’t want to even think of touching the multiplayer, then avoid it. But you must try the story mode it’s spectacular, and i hope this game will change your opinion of before you’ve tried i
Where can I find list of games with badass seal of approval?
I’m tired of buying games that suck.
I’ve always wanted a Tomb Raider game. Can’t wait to get it once the price drops down!
Game was… ok. Didn’t fall in love with Lara all over again, like so many other players. But had a good time with it. Good review.
Joe! you made my day with that review start! I havent laughed for 5 years to any review or show start, but this one made me crack up and laugh out loud. Thanks for that
This rekindled my love for the franchise. The graphics, the gameplay, the puzzles (though I could have used more), it all comes together to make a must own modern prequel. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Absolutely great game. Great balance between combat, exploration, and puzzles. Powerful strorytelling and plenty of emotion for those who want a game that makes you care. Nice that it makes you scavenge for supplies to do better, this game is better than the older Tomb Raiders because it doesn’t make you feel like an absolute baddass, it makes you feel vulnerable and that’s how it should feel. That’s how you really connect with a game, it’s story, and it’s characters. It’s done so well, unlike other games it doesn’t make you feel like a gamer on playing on your console/PC, it actually immerses you in the game and puts you in the shoes of Lara. There are some minor complaints though, it’s pretty short, the puzzles are a bit easy(I understand they did it to get more players attracted to the game but the optional ones should be harder), and there isn’t much to do after you finish the game. Overall, I’d give it a 10/10. It won’t please everyone but it’s the best game I’ve ever played. I’d highly recommend it. I don’t think I’d just buy it(since I already did), I’d give Crystal Dynamics a blank cheque. It doesn’t please long fans enough, I get it. It’s changed, the puzzles are easier, no more dual-wielding pistols, less monsters, more combat, and more realism, but try to look at it from an unbiased point of view. It’s an elite title, definitely game of the year. Lets just hope the sequel is just as good. New Lara is definitely better than the last one. More memorable and of course, better looking.
