Hex MMO/TCG AJ Pledge + Interview!
Hey guys I wanted to share my pledge & support for a very innovative new card game on Kickstarter. Hex will be a genre first digital TCG/MMO hybrid, taking the best features of both and blending them together! I also managed to get an exclusive video interview with the President of Cryptozoic Entertainment about some of the games details & mechanics!
If you like the game, you can Pledge to the Kickstarter Here!

Joe,
How about a playing of the Alpha and possible review of Hex Alpha.
Also, I think the Affordable Care Act needs an Angry Review.
Would like to join your TCG Guild,
Thank you for recommending this great game.

I am no longer positive the place you are getting your information, however great topic. I needs to spend some time finding out much more or working out more. Thank you for wonderful info I was searching for this information for my mission.
Pledged! thanks for this video and for the recommendation!
Regards!
cant wait for this game. i pledged wooot
when you get back from E3, and post all that shit, you better make damn sure that you don’t forget about Hex. because I swear, I want to beat some raid boss ASS with other members of the angry army. and my army of zombie-bunnies!
I must own this game.
This game really has potential. The only way to see if it holds up is at the release.
But someone: I just found out about thi game today. isn’t there someway to still contribute to the kickstarter?
There’s a Slacker Backer option on their website, http://www.hextcg.com
Hey there,
got to pledge 70 minutes before it ended 🙂
Knight Tier for the win.
I wonder how many ppl Joe already has on the Army for the game.

Joe please stop saying innovative bad word to use because of the industry now.
IMO any game that is pay to win, is a big scam that just sucks more money from player base, unlike a flat fee, but especially card-like games where you can only get better by buying more packs, more packs more more more..
no way..
I hope when i was talking about pay to win you did not think i ment i wanted it. if you watched the video he talks about how pay to win is stupid.
its amazing when i only was at 17min and now you start talking about pay to win like i said in my last comment. I am the person that builds all these decks just so i can get my friends to play. Although i still have one friend near by that will versus me in card games. The 2v2 would be great as well, Ill see if i can pledge on my Visa 😛
Looks very Amazing, I was a big Yugioh and sometimes Magic as well. Always love new card games, i’m just not big on the whole pay to win type of deal. To me, this looks like a game that it paying more money will not influence your wins so much compared to magic.
Thanks Joe, How can i sign up for the Clan/Guild?
Darn it Joe, I was going to limit my crowd funding contributions this month, but you talked me into donating to this one at the 35 dollar level.
I use to play and love the old Magic: The Gathering (Microprose) game. That was primarily because of the PvE and dungeon portions. So this game has me interested.
I hope I can get into your guild. Can’t wait to hear more.
Hey AJ,
When are you going to create the Angry Army guild? I want to get in that action ASAP. 🙂
Hey AJ,
Thanks for another great review. I did kickstart the Game (HEX). I never really played any card games before but they look like fun and I always wanted to try so here’s my chance. Now I don’t know what are your criteria to apply to your HEX guild but I really want in!!
PS My kids are still laughing seeing you dress as a little girl from your review for Bioshock.
My oldest says that some reviews are better then the actual game lol
Hey AJ,
Just to clarify, you say out of 300 cards (random number dont know the real number)
150 will be for pve and 150 for pvp
Im saying there just are 300 cards out of which like 50 are banned from pvp, the other 250 can be used both ways.
Im 99.99% sure about this and so far you havent told me anything to prove me wrong.
Logic says booster packs(sets) are all PvP cards. Otherwise, draft tournaments would contain unplayable cards.
PvE cards would be obtained by playing on the PvE side as drops. They’re not part of “sets”, but rather tied to dungeons/raids and loot tables.
The PvP set is going to be around roughly 350 cards, I think the number may be 366. And, I -think- there are around 300 PvE cards as well. PvE is a BIG thing in this game, it’s gonna more than 50 cards.
I pledged at the 85 dollar level!!! Can’t wait to play this game, this is what I have been waiting for. GOOOOO Angry ARMY!!!!
Hey Angry Joe just signed up for Hex and pledged $35 bucks. I would be interested in joining your Guild. Thanks for the great videos.

BenRGamer please return here in 2 months when beta starts to get pwned lol
Me and my friends are all in to this! This will be the new Magic TG for us! The new apprentice game with everything we want of today gamming! This is F EPIC!
I dig the recent card based game interview, however, card games kind of bore me to death. I would love to see more PC game interviews. You rock when you ask the hard questions like nobody else does! Keep it up AngryJoe! Many of us PC gamers are watching.
Definitely cannot wait for this game to hit alpha since we’ll be hitting that stretch goal by the end of the kickstarter. How does one get into the Angry Army? I know its been around for a while but this will be my first time applying to it.
Awesome! This lloks incredible cool 😀 And me and my sisters love card games so much 😀 (Last real good card game was a japanese ds game with demons and spirits (not Duel Monsters) )
That one looks awesome! Will make a call right away and help out!
This is surely a great one!
Damn this game looks super awesome – just pledged 65$ for both my gf and my self – now all we need is some information on how to join the Angry Army Guild ^^
Hope to see much more information about this game in here, but keep up the awesome job with all your other reviews and vlogs as well 🙂
Unless*
@BenRGamer
Then why is he talking about cards “more suited for pvp?”
That means cards can be used both ways, only the massive overpowered ones will be blocked from pvp.
If you got a source saying it directly I have to assume you’re wrong sorry.
Pay attention to what he says, you can use PvP cards in PvE, but not vice versa, unless it’s the ‘wild west’ format, the same goes with Equipment, and it’s because they’re balanced to be overpowered to use against the also advanced AI decks.
Thus, many PvE cards will likely be very overpowered–heck one of the Kickstarter PvE cards is a Black Lotus equivalent (named Spectral Lotus, to boot) that turns into a [3/1] tiger once you use it. It’s kind of a weird card.

Never thought I see that, someone worse at dressing up as girl then AngryJoe, new fual to the nightmares……..
I picked up the Knight’s tier for this one. Looking forward to playing, and taking part in the guild.
“Hex will be a genre first digital TCG/MMO hybrid, taking the best features of both and blending them together!”
I didn’t know there were any good features of collectible card games? I’m gonna go ahead and pass on this one.
That depent on you like TCG or not.
I am more worrie about the bad features of TCG, boster prices, and the need to constance buy new cards.
It’s a TCG, so, yeah, unless you want to grind PvE and try to sell loot for platinum to buy boosters, or people decide to sell boosters for gold, you may need to buy some boosters with cash.
Boosters are only going to be $2, though, and you get a free un-tradable starter deck on signing up.
I am not worrie I have to buy boosters with real money, they have to make money somehow.
I am more worrie about the amoungt of money and how often you have to upgrade your deck competly.
Well, they plan to have a new set every four months, roughly the same as other card games. I don’t know about needing to completely upgrade your deck or when you’d need to do that, though. Like I said, boosters are gonna be pretty cheap, too.
Joe… thanks to you I get access to games i haven’t recognised by now. I also love your reviews, so I do like your mix about games and kickstarterprojects.
Keep up your good Work!
if the creepier in the first 20 seconds didnt turn me away , then the fact that its a lame ass card game did, i get what you are trying to do joe but not all of us have the cash to just throw away, please go back to reviews………… of games that don’t need money thrown at the dev’s in order for them to be completed
All I’m seeing here is
“Whaaaa! Waaaaa! I’m too stupid to read the title to figure out its a card game before I watched it and decided to post about how its a card game”
We have access to Kickstarter too Joe. How about reviewing some things before the sun dies out…
Well that’s kinda rude and entitled. LoL.
More Reviews are coming after E3, I’m busy scheduling appointments and preparing for my trip. I may be able to squeeze in a vlog and lets play before hand. But doubt I can go big with an Angry Review before I leave. Sheesh.
Wow, Joe makes vids for free for users like you and me and you write something like that? Well, thats what i call gratitude! But anyway, love your vids Joe and good luck with your trip.
Btw Joe im not sure if you got the complete answer out of one of his answers.
You go to ask if PVP and PVE sets are split or combined. I thought I noticed you seemed to take his answer as “Yes, there will be different PVP and PVE cards that dont carry over to the other game mode.”
How I took it was:
You get one card collection and the cards will have a PVE, PVP or BOTH tag (something like that) and you can use alle your cards in PVE and for PVP you make a selection out of your allowed PVE cards.
So yeah it seems there is 1 card collection and not 1 for pve and 1 for pvp
Sorry though if I got it wrong about how you took the answer.
No, not at all. You can use PvP cards in PvE, but you can’t use PvE cards in any PvP format except the anything goes one.
but was it me or wasnt the clip all that funny? 😛
I wanted to do the 35 donation but things are too fucked for my country it seems I cant use any other payment option then a CC 🙁
The game looks pretty good and I like the approach of “if we just make a very good and addicting game the revenue will come anyways so we focus on the best experience for players instead of grabbing your cash”
Kind of disappointed to see its not 100% original but a little bit based on magic the gathering, that was to be expected but I had hope for a little more difference.
I falled for that – now I must eat instant noodles until the payday.
Pledged
Yeah pledged on this one on day 2 at the coveted Pro tier =)
Great feature Joe. I’ll be checking this out and considering contributing to the kickstarter because of this vid
I’m in this on the Collector tier, I posted about this a couple weeks back, hoping to drum up some interest, but nothing came of it. Glad to see an article on it.
I will definently be getting this and be interested in joining your guild.
I believe this will be great, and hopefully out on psn and so on in the future.
