Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform youre using? Im looking to start my own blog in the near future but Im having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and Im looking for something unique.

I have one suggestion… Instead of wasting your money in fighting YT and companies you can invest them by gathering people to establish a new website, copyright free…
just wont to say mate I have been watching your videos for about a year a you are my fave reviewer I love your reviews and I wish u the best of look with you tube and I if you ever wonted to make a waver I would sign it and I know a good couple of people who would just an idea mate and thank you

is there any uptade on that stuff? if Angry Joe still fighting this copyright claims? Did Youtube changed their policies? Eversince this started I have not heard any followup in the media about this.
He posted an update on his Youtube channel. From what I have been able to gather and to answer your questions in short the current situation is as follows.
1. Yes he is still fighting copyright claims
2. No they have not changed their policies yet. Hopefully this will change when they realize the sheer volume of chaos it is causing and how it will hurt their bottomline, popularity and trust from its its userbase.
My recommendations for anyone who wants to help solve this issue:
1. Complain to Google and keep complaining (just avoid being banned or harassing or anything just let them know what you think).
2. Support the channels affected by it and the people who run them, this is a very hard time for them. Their livelihoods might be in danger.
3. Keep spreading the word what is wrong with the current content system and why it is wrong. (But make sure you know your facts first)
4. Keep up with the latest and most accurate developments as this situation progresses.
Could you do a preview of Bungie”s coming hyped up game “Destiny”? Everyone seems sooooooooooo exited about the game but its really a kind of a new Halo version;new enemies, new “story” new weapons bur its really nothing new.Even the new version of Halo”s “Scarab” is just a boring version that you do”nt even need to board and take out its power core after momentarily bringing it to its knees. Destiny uses the boring wasteland scenario we”ve seen in many other games.Good luck with your dispute concerning you tube.
Honestly if this is the only way you can make money then it’s really your fault if you go broke. If he doesn’t have a degree in anything or have any special skills learned from jobs then honestly if his business goes under because talking about video games doesn’t pay enough then I cant really feel too sorry for him.
Not saying it’s right with the youtube things just saying if he is screwed because he intended to do this for the rest of his life because he is too lazy to get a real job…I dont consider what joe does as a real job. I’m a fucking welder at john deere too me thats a real job a real career this is more of a hobby for fun thing.
So guess I dont know if Joe has a job or not. Would explain why it takes so long to release any reviews in a way. It’s not like he is making a movie or doing any crazy effects like James does on avgn. I do like listening to this but honestly joe just gets too angry in a real way not in the comedy way James does. Clearl James loves video games but he actually got a degree and actually using it to make a ton of money, not to mention spending a ton of it though but he is accomplishing his dream I cant help but respect that, as for Joe not sure what his aims are. He screams afoul a lot even has solutions but what else does he do in life?
A lot of time, work and money goes into doing this kind of thing. Before you criticize the length of time it takes him to get stuff out, why don’t you try doing it. It is not easy and it costs a lot. One 30 minute video can take weeks to complete, especially if you do a lot of green screen work…and Joe does. If he’s willing to pour his time, passion and money into doing something he loves, he should be allowed to collect his money. This is hard work. People who do this for a living usually work more hours then people who have full time wage paying jobs. So you’re saying that he doesn’t deserve to be concerned about his hard earned money because what, he enjoys what he does? That is bullshit.
It is 2014, internet television is growing in popularity. Why should people who pour their own money into this be considered any less legit then someone on a crappy video game show sponsored by Spike tv or something.
And getting another job in addition to this would make it almost impossible to maintain this kind of show as it is now. I have a full time job and since I got it I often have to release videos every couple of months because I don’t have any free time. And I’m sure as hell my expenses are less then Joes. At least I don’t have to worry about having to drop 50 plus dollars on new game releases or five hundred on new consoles. If You Tube doesn’t change their policies then one of two things will happen. Either people will move on to other places like Blip, which a lot of people don’t want, or you’re going to see a lot of shows coming down. If you want to see the Angry Joe show gone then why are you even here?
Ok now the more straight forward version of the previous reply. Who the HELL are you to tell someone else how they make money is wrong!!!!
He enjoys it and that makes it not a valid job? You have to hate your job and be miserable before its acceptable??
Screw you and Joe you deserve more respect then you get from jerks like this
I suppose your definition of “job” is what really needs work. At basic value, Joe does journalism.
What the technical definition of his work would be “Freelance journalist” What this means is he is self employed, and reports on actions, or developments in a genre. That Genre could be anything, but in this instance it is the world of entertainment. His form of journalism (documentation and reporting on findings) is maily reviews and previews. Like any coumnist, he must research and spend time refining his work so that it is coherent to a directed userbase.
Like any journalist, the publication of their content is handled by a distribution center, in this case youtube. Youtube has put many things in place that seeks to let entities remove revenue from the journalists stream. That means basically there is a way to intercept cash flow which under fair use etc. to a user abiding by the rules of copyright laws. This means that his work as a journalist, the time he takes experiencing and reviewing or researching entertainment, then packaging that review or preview up, along with the customer relations with studios and interviews he does, are rendered moot. The culmination of all of that work is justifiable original content, It is work, and as a journalist in this medium it is every bit as deserving of compensation as your welding job.
The skills needed are social for speaking to people agreeing to get review copies and improving his relations, he needs also to be skilled and understanding of a vast number of digital mediums to understand generes, the gaming populous and remain unbiased in reviews as best as possible (not liking a genre but being objective), as well as being able to script, plan and utilize various kinds of sound and video equipment, and all the content that entails (troubleshooting interaction etc.)
There is a lot of skill there and I very much enjoy the content, I’ve edited small videos, and its a lot of work for a 5 minute video to make it look nice. Its much different with actors, special effects, green screen work, recording and sound.
In short, journalism is a “real job” and just because your skill set if different, does not give you grounds to say you’re superior.
WTF Davidson? Are you for real? AngryJoe needs a real job? So what is your definition of “real” job? A plumber? An arc welder? A doctor? A lawyer? An astronaut? A police? A paramedic? An investment banker? A realtor? Shhh what BS universe are you from!!!
A real job? LOL.
Here’s a nice video for this guy Davidson to enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn7JtYbyj4M
Hey joe, long time fan man, i hope this stuff all blows over and you get your stuff sorted man.
“I buy every game I own”
…. no shit joe
seriously tho, i know people who proudly say they pirate most to all of the stuff they use.
My favorite is when they complain about DLC prices when they are part of the reason why games and extra game content is so damned expensive in the first place.
I really really think 99% of what gets flagged is fair use, and that YouTube makes it FAR to easy for people to be trolls… they don’t really pay any real attention to who is flagging things or if they have a right to.
That said, I’m in sort of a grey area when it comes to pirating. I do it, but I also buy the game later if I enjoy it… so it’s more like a demo for me, I don’t keep the ones I don’t like and I buy the ones I do, so the companies don’t actually lose a dime when I do download something.
Based on what I have been able to determine through my own personal research I believe you are exactly right and that is the central problem here.
Another great idea: If the Content ID System found a third party stuff, then not block the video, just send a notification to the copyright owner, who will decide how to handle this. I think, they wont be worried about a 16 sec. sound or video content, but can take action, if the use of the content is not fair. And everyone will be happy.
But then they might be swamped with thousands of notifications a day. How do you deal with having to go through each of them manually?
That is their fucking problem then
I didn’t see anything on “how to fix it.” Nobody has a constitutional right to be on youtube. Even if you are within the law, they don’t need to have you there… contractually, it might void any agreement you have, but I bet there’s no penalty for them in that contract. Find a better platform.
I agree if he is not capable of finding something besides youtube then honestly dont want to hear him screaming and whining over this issue. I sympathise to a point but then I never posted anything on youtube I dont trust the site.
Youtube Copyright Disaster Angry Rant | The Angry Joe Show
It is bull that one would get in trouble over the showing of a clip of something that is only 5 seconds long or even of the music being played in the background. But I feel that this is not so much as about money that is about control over what people can or can’t say.
You may have just now seen your credit score and hypothesized on how you could boost it. Understanding what is used in the evaluation of your credit score is the beginning step. While the exact blueprint used in the estimate of the score is treatment, there are some known influences.
I honestly agree with Kelton except for the fact that the broadcast yourself line also includes your personal opinion on a matter and if you happen to use 15-30 seconds of the content you are reviewing to help strengthen the video I do not believe they have the right to take everything away from you. I mean at best they should get a cut.I would understand if he reviewed a movie by showing you the whole movie and telling you what he thought about it, but I mean come on he’s not even showing us 5 minutes of the game he’s reviewing. I honestly believe youtube is way out of line on this one.
man your videos have waaaayyy to much difference in the sound, it will be really loud which is totally okay, but than it will be so quite you literally can not hear a thing, and it will jump like that back and forth. i love your videos and this would make them even more awesome, but its just my opinion!
That’s just weird. I used to have to gaming video clips. One edited into music video, one showing unique way of defeating final boss in AC. They’re gone. No claims, no warnings, no blocking the shit out of them, no cancelling or redirecting revenue (I actually didn’t set any to those two), straight up deleted to oblivion. Without even a slightest notification or a f*cking g+ memo. Disappeared into thin air. F*cking pulled Hudini on me.
“YouTube: Broadcast Yourself” Get it? Broadcast yourself, not other peoples content. You have no claim here. The idea of youtube is to make videos featuring yourself. By including other peoples content, whether through fair use or not, you are going against the company policy, and they have every right to shut it down. Not saying I agree with youtube on this, or anything for that matter, but if you go into a business with a company like this, you should be prepared for this kind of action. Of course people are going to abuse companies like youtube and try to get away with stuff like making money off of posting full videos and songs, and of course youtube is going to overcompensate and come down on everyone because of it. I saw this coming when google took over youtube, and my only surprise is, is that you didn’t see it coming yourselves. Going into a business like this, you should have been prepared for this kind of action. Abuse = overreaction = everyone getting screwed. And of course google doesn’t care, they can’t even make a proper search engine. All they care about is saving your search queries, and making money. Hopefully you get this resolved to your satisfaction, because I do enjoy your content.
Actually, review as a journalist’s work is – as a matter of fact – protected by copyright as well. Have you ever read a review that had no picture from the game, whatsoever? Or a movie review, they never add a theatrical poster or DVD cover? The only difference here is that review made into a video let the journalist use more than one medium. But it doesn’t change the fact it’s still a review. It is Joe’s work, and he has a claim. He features his opinion on games and movies. He broadcasts himself. Music, gameplay, glitches, soundtrack, free tracks – he’s allowed to use them in HIS creative work.
Admittedly I’d love to see all those lazy spammers YT-star-wannabe taken down. Especially those 12 y.o. kinds posting comments and spaming my mailbox.
” “YouTube: Broadcast Yourself” Get it? Broadcast yourself, not other peoples content. You have no claim here.”
Actually he does. All Youtube says is that you have the rights to the material. In this case the ‘right’ is fair use. NO WHERE does Youtube say that you can NEVER use other peoples content in your videos.
Next time how about you actually read the TOS instead of just their tagline.
From the Youtube TOS:
You further agree that Content you submit to the Service will not contain third party copyrighted material, or material that is subject to other third party proprietary rights, unless you have permission from the rightful owner of the material or you are otherwise legally entitled to post the material and to grant YouTube all of the license rights granted herein.
Because their tagline is all they need to defend themselves with. You are not thinking like google obviously, if you think going past the tagline and reading the TOS actually means anything. You are not in big business trying to screw people out of money. Big companies like youtube, google, Blizzard, etc… will do whatever it takes to screw people over when they can. Blizzard screwed me over with my Diablo III account, actually going against their own TOS to do it, but used something very similar to a tagline to justify it. And I know for sure google will do the same with youtube if they think they can get away with it. And guess what, they did. You could have written and recorded permission from the game developers and publishers themselves to use their content on your site for review, and all google has to say is, “Broadcast yourself”, sorry, that money is now ours, not your content. Of course, you could take them to court, where they could drag it out for years, putting you so far in debt you are bankrupt, all the while laughing at you. You seem to be under the impression I am defending youtube, I am most definitely not. What I am saying is, you are relying on an internet company run by google, (which as I said, can’t even make a decent search engine, the very thing they are known for), to make a living, and have no backup plan? Well then I can’t feel sorry for you if you can’t put bread on the table.
With SOPA, Microsoft’s attempt at draconian DRM policies with Xbox One, and now the latest Youtube copyright chaos, the writing’s on the wall for people like Angry Joe and others making a living doing Youtube reviews of media content.
Probably for a long time, there will be forces that will persistently rattle the foundations of the way you make a living of which you will have little or no control over.
While I identify and wish the best of luck for people like Angry Joe, best to probably have some kind of Plan B that can take over paying the bills because the idiocy and greed of copyright zealots is not going to abate anytime soon.
I agree with ya on this. I understand it was Joe’s choice to do this for his interest and to pay the bills…BUT he should not just depend on this to pay bills, this was inevitable he shouldn’t be all that shocked, I understand being pissed off but he is taking it a bit far.
He needs to learn some new skills or something, what education does Joe have? He is a smart guy obviously but the way he wears himself and speaks for himself leaves me thinking he never thought about having a career beyond this.
Get together with other youtube reviewers and Kickstart a lawsuit against Google, if people want to throw money on something, it is to fight big corporation that is screwing the little guys.
what if before every video game related video the uploader had an image displayed for 5 seconds of their game in the case with a receipt and the uploader holding it. blocking out any credit related information of course. i know that wouldn’t work for people with older games who lost the receipt but if people start doing it from now on… though im not sure if purchasing an item gives you the right to review it “/
internet censorship is so gay
Are you going to be okay Angry Joe?
How can a video of the Tomb Raider game be claimed by a fictional Character?? Are they going insane now? I had one video blocked off from my content (an Birthday AMV for Nobou Uematsu and Final Fantasy I – X ) by Titus, Zidan and Terra!?!? WTH!?! These are virtual Characters of the Game! They can’t claim rights on it! The producers may can, but they weren’t even mentioned!!!
Yes, I hate pirates too. I only lean to pirating if it really old games that you cannot gain any other way anymore (like real old Amiga games) or to repair a game content on my PC since some *bleeping* idiot has ruined the original cd (like my poor Never Winter Nights 2 – can’t start the game with the original CD since my sisters Ex-Boyfriend had to be a *bleeping* moron and spill coffee over the poor thing and use it as a saucer). But otherwise I stick to buying originals and live happy with them.
I hope YouTube really kicks out the stupid moron who gets all these new rights changes every new year… This is so freaking annoying now…
joe, the best thing you can do now is to migrate to blip. Then you and every content creator is going to have to challenge the terms of service in court.
I wonder if monetising an intro video that linked to the review could be done in a viable way without people losing out on views on the monetised video.
In Germany we have the GEMA. It’s nearly impossible to watch any yt-clip with Music in it, unless it’s proven free. Every clip here is blocked like in China or so.
Funny brave new world.
Big fan from Berlin
I only pirate thing I cant get anymore like starwars galactic battle grounds morrowind do I feel bad NO cause if you want to drag every cent out of a game kepp selling it don’t just say you cant buy the game FUCK YOU.
Thats different. Pirating really refers to recent releases still being sold and supported by the developer. What your talking about is abandonware. Abandonware is a product, typically software, ignored by its owner and manufacturer, and for which no product support is available. It’s still under copyright but you can rest easy because company’s typically don’t monitor them. You can’t pirate something no longer being sold.
Well with games like Gog it means companies still make money and sell the game right ?>
I’m really disappointed that Joe hasn’t posted anymore reviews due to this youtube fiasco. He said he pretty much has it done but I guess he is afraid of it getting flagged?
Why doesn’t he just post vids on his own site instead of youtube?
IF THEY KICK HIM OFF YOUTUBE THE ANGREY ARMY WILL ASSAULT THE SITE AND THEIR WILL BE HELL TO PAY!!!!!
That is exactly what I said…
This is a comment on the Wonder Woman being played by Gal Gadot in the Man of Steel 2 movie.Dude.It will suck.DON’T WATCH IT FIRST! Wait till someone sees it then see the movie after you get a group of peoples reviews. It is one thing to be a fan but it is another thing to be pissed on an claiming give me another round.Gal Gadot has not the body for a WOMANLY form.An i`m a Body builder and Artist as well as Martial Artist.
An I know how long it takes to build muscle and even in 2 years that would not be enough to build up what I personally thing would work for the body. She has no breast or womanly hips. She has a kid an even after a kid her hips have not spread. She will not look like a quality Wonder Woman.I`m Sorry! You are not going to like this movie. Also they are putting in a African American as Lex Luthor. At this point I can tell you this stems as a Hate movie. This is not a Movie for people who love the comics. This is a movie about Fake Jews and Them hating on the Original Jews.If you dont know what i am talking about.I recommend doing research on Fake Jews an real jews. They are going to ruin this movie. Please do not promote the movie until you see it and Doug sees it.PLEASE!
Let me tell you why I agree and disagree with you. I don’t care what she look like, and I don’t care if luthor is black. I think that Michael Clarke Duncan rip was a great kingpin. I don’t even care about all the ” real Jewish bla bla. I tell you what I do care about…….
Gal gadot can’t act! Aflek can’t act! Man of steal was to dark and dramatic, there wasn’t even one joke or comic relief in the whole film. I don’t believe that the ppl who wrote the script in MOS ever read a superman comics in their life…SPOILER: Jonathan kent tell him to let the kids die? He breaks zods neck? WTF I hate this movie so much!!
Ohh well, I never was a big fan of DC any way, where is my deadpool film!!!
C’mon Joe, give us an update. What’s going on?
Hi Joe, I have a good question, How do think this will effect nect gen console as people will not be able to upload there game clips on youtube becuase that might get flagged, So I guess we will have to stick to facebook for PS4 and skydrive for Xbox one. Now not as many people will see them.
