Xbox Reports - Minecraft Two Year Anniversary Recap - On Friday August 16th we celebrated our Two Year World Anniversary in our Xbox community Minecraft Realm. Since we founded the world back on August 7th, 2017, this world has been our Minecraft home playing host to all our adventures since. This past Friday we celebrated this momentous milestone with a special Anniversary event. In recap... We went on a journey back to where it all started.....the Mansion! This was our original base back on Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. As part of a restoration project, we've been upgrading the Mansion courtyard and interior to fit to current times. We also went back the to Empire Sick Building, Wookie Mountain Empire and the Underwater Sea Base in a trip down nostalgia lane. We unveiled the Amphitheater of the Architects, a special Anniversary monument built by AceyRenegade dedicated all the architects who have played an important role in the history of the world. Also includes and showcases all major landmarks from 2017 to present day. The Chamber of Remembrance was also unveiled. Connected to the Amphitheater, the Chamber documents our world history. We chronicled all our Quests, Expeditions, Game Nights, Architects and significant milestones from 2017 to present day. The final piece of the Anniversary was unveiled which was the Arboretum, the Realm's Garden of Trees. Members were challenged to craft their own custom trees, showcasing their own unique and individual styles, in honor of the Anniversary. - Summer Games Conclusion - The finale to our Summer Games series is here. After three months worth of activities, this weekend will represent our last slate of Game Nights as part of this community project. Thank you to any and all who came out to play these past few months across our catalog of Game Nights. This was certainly a unique and interesting adventure. Please be aware that following the conclusion to the Summer Games this Sunday night, we are going on a TWO WEEK BREAK. 5. Ahaha, Korean mmo games. I remember these things are all over the place when I was in secondary school. Ragnarok Online was the bomb with my classmates and they always go to the nearest internet cafe to play that thing. Plus Counter Strike + DOTA. I only went to those things once in my local mall just to play Counter Strike, but only a 2 hour session cause my dad was busy with stuff. Never go to those places again cause I ain't payin hourly fees when I can just play at home on my PC! Here's a surprising game that I never got the chance to play until recently. A really damn good VN game that got translated into English 10 years after its release called 428 Shibuya Scramble. This game had FUNKY ass music that pumps me up for whatever is going to happen next, and also really damn sad songs that makes me tear up. Get this game now, it's well worth it.

  8. Ahhhh game shows, those things on TV which are guaranteed to be fun for the whole family. I went to EVO and there's a "game show" network at the Luxor hotel there which are ALL about game shows. Family Feud, America Says, Idiotest, the Chase, and Wheel of Fortune were the shows me and my pal watched while we stayed there in our hotel room, and we watched that channel for HOURS, right after we finished hanging around EVO and playing fighting games of course. Watching that whole channel was just as hype as it was watching the top 8 of the fighting game tournaments that were there. These shows are truly the OG crowd pleaser. After I went home from EVO, I was in a mood for game show shenanigans on youtube, and it is a goldmine of funny shit. Here's a couple that I just lol hard at. Share your favorite game show vids as well, maybe from some underrated shows that no one knows but you cause well, a good laugh fun is always great to have!
  9. I played Time Splitters 3 first, then I played 2 both of which are damn fun. Playing a remade fan made version of 2 would be great. Good thing is Crytek UK gave this game their blessing, so it's just a matter of when the game's out. And it'll be for free so WOHOO, I CAN'T WAIT!
  10. Yep..... Stadia ain't looking so good. Pricing is fucked, the internet requirement for that thing is fucked up, and pretty much everyone who owns a PC already have a better gaming library than what it had to offer. It's definitely a good idea, but it's gonna take 5+ years until our internet goes beyond 35mbs for just a basic internet package. Like VR, we need to wait until its ready for mass audience consumption. And E3...... why did they have to fuck up and leak contact info like that??
  11. Update? Whoa boy, has it been an interesting couple of months! Stadia is trash and E3...time to invest in identity protection.
  12. Not even trying to do this, but I'd also be curious for an answer. I always thought Bluetooth adapters were somehow programmed for specific devices (otherwise wouldn't you just automatically see EVERY device within range?)
  13. Completed: Fire Emblem Three Houses Platform: Switch This finally feels like a game that takes almost everything the awful Awakening and more often mediocre Fates wanted to do and gets a lot of it right. The terrible pairing system of those games is gone, replaced with an adjutant system that allows you to assign 1-3 characters to fight with another and to very rarely help out slightly in battle (as opposed to blocking entire attacks or doing massive damage and stat boosts for every deployed character, more for building supports and getting the paired character some XP) and battalions of soldiers that give smaller stat or damage boosts, useful tactical abilities, make it feel like a larger battle (although they visually never engage in fights in an entertaining way). Makes good use of systems Awakening/Fates attempted. The game allows for four story paths with the events and interactions happening between battles giving you more information about the world, side characters, and the characters that can join your army or that you might end up fighting. Every support isn't leading to characters getting married allowing much more sensible conclusions and non romantic endings for characters that can go off to do things together, the actual support conversations themselves are much improved and finally give an actual scene where multiple characters and an area can be involved as opposed to just talking portraits. When a five year time skip happens later in the characters visually look different and the ones you would probably expect to have experienced more growth in the time do have some personality differences. Most of the characters are very likable and have great interactions with each other, the best that has been in the series as a whole. The opening academy setting gives a good reason for characters to have multiple classes they can become and the base stat growths and talents of units does still make them favor certain areas. Nice painting look to the scenes during the chapter opens. The only area that it doesn't improve on what the series has been doing since Awakening is that it has absolutely no balance. Even people who are bad enough at the series to have had problems with entries like Awakening are saying how overpowered their characters are (some even on hard), even without them fighting optional or many optional battles. I tended to avoid side battles that weren't story, side quest, or character related and even with me recruiting every single character I was allowed to (which is very easy, and does certainly worsen the story battles in the second part of the game when your enemies have basically no one supporting them) and leveling up every single one of them my characters were still overpowered. Every month you have three or four days where you can choose to explore (move around the academy area to find quests, shop, build support ratings, get story information, recruit characters, etc, useful as many times as possible until you recruit everyone then only useful once per month for story elements), rest (worthless), seminar (worthless), or battle (fight 1-3 non main battles based on your professor ranking). The battles can be character, quest, monster appearance, or reward related or just a random fight on a very small number of repeated dull maps (on normal you can fight on the random map as many times as you want). It became a problem in the second part of the game where there was literally nothing for me to do of value but fight on the same 2-3 repeated reward maps, made worse that the monster maps just add a monster to one of the existing maps with the same other enemy units. The extremely easy difficulty is made worse by a time rewind ability that you will eventually get around 12 uses of per battle that allows you to go back any number of actions you want, if toned down this would be a nice feature if the game had any difficulty. When they added the ability to turn off permanent character death they might as well have added the ability to skip battles entirely, and in this game, I probably would have made use of that ability. The actual story of the game is improved over the recent games by letting you get to know more characters that you could be fighting against, doing more world building between fights, and giving you four different paths but an issue with the different paths is that you miss out on a lot of story and side character knowledge in what tends to be a pretty long game, there are very few main battles compared to past titles, and your story path locks you into only getting comments from a particular classes characters even when you have recruited other people. The story path I took even ended when there could easily have been more to come after it, basically giving a greater group of villains and then just saying that was handled after the war in closing text stories for the characters. A huge missed opportunity was the opening which is just one battle with a plot that just makes everyone look stupid before throwing you into a nonsensically handed out role as a teacher when it could have had multiple maps and introduced you more to not only the three lords you have to pick from but also all or some of their classmates. Hell, Fire Emblem 7 basically included a 10 mission tutorial that gave a whole backstory to one of the games main characters and allowed her to meet multiple characters you could recruit later. Based on the DLC announcements it sounds like they are adding new random battle maps, quests, and story content (though that might be a side thing as opposed to attached to the main game) and if that adds more variety that could certainly help the gameplay. They managed to improve or fix a lot of the problems with the kind of content they have been adding, if they would finally stop adding random side battles with no story significance that breaks the games they could easily start releasing the best games in the series. Completed: Blazing Chrome Platform: PC Fun Contra style action game with six levels that combine the usual sidescrolling shooting sections, a few hoverbike sections, and a flying rail shooter segment. You have a basic weapon and melee attack and can find a powerful grenade launcher, a beam weapon that can shoot slowly or be charged up for a long constant burst, or a constantly firing shorter beam that follows your weapon movements. You can also find and have one active robot powerup that can make you faster, block two hits, or one that gives you more firepower by shooting in the direction you are aiming. You can unlock two extra characters when you beat them game that have a more melee focused playstyle, different modes and difficulties are also unlocked after beating it.. More forgiving than Contra by not only letting you continue after losing all of your lives on the same stage but at the section of the stage that you died on. Completed: Night Call Platform: PC Play as a blackmailed taxi driver trying to learn the identity of a serial killer in somewhat noir styled visual novel. The mystery of the killer and the mechanics of identifying them are the least interesting elements of the game. The real game is the archetypes of modern life (and at times unlife), culture, politics, etc you meet in the back of your cab. Learning their stories, your own, attempting to help them in the moment by being someone to listen to them or just by making a connection. Completed: ACA NEOGEO METAL SLUG X Platform: PC Remade version of Metal Slug 2 that was then released in an emulated form for newer consoles and PC. Apart from a quick play through and the amusing art style I never was the biggest Metal Slug fan as it felt like a lot of them were reusing parts from each other (even this one replaced a boss with a boss from another game) and usually the first to levels are easy then you start dying quite often. Vehicles have always been pretty dull, with some not even appearing at times where there style makes much sense, and it always makes it really easy to accidentally bail out of some of the ones it gives you in boss fights. Suffers from a lot of slowdown (though apparently less than the original game). Completed: Old Man's Journey Platform: PC Beautiful art style with relaxing gameplay and music. Mechanics mostly involve you manipulating the hills of each area to allow the old man to reach his destination, which typically has him sitting down and remembering something from the past before he moves to the next destination closer to his final goal. The story told by his journey and memories isn't really that interesting or detailed to the point that you would feel anything for anyone.
  14. What a cognitive article! It is devoted to one of dissertation topics in education. I was hooked by reading it. It open new horizons for me and pushed for further work.
  15. Elite Dangerous had many great updates. Would like to know if people from community would like to make AJSA Squadron ?
  16. Any changes on accepting people into stream team? i think if we get a good team more people will join the AJSA community
  17. Big Welcome

  19. Yeah, just like that one annoying song, Minecraft was set to have something amazing, but in the end they let that ball go... and it now rolled under the bed and out of sight. I am talking about the cancellation of better graphics (I read about it here) and this is just a terrible way to end the summer. Sure, I am not an avid fan, but I do play once in a while, and to have such a vast improvement canceled just makes me think if they are giving up. With the release of Minecraft for Windows 10 I was almost excited, it looked like good things are on the horizon, but for a long time they kept everything on the level, with nothing major happening which isn't bad, I just wanted something more. And now apparently we are not getting it. I know people still play it (heck, so do I), but do you think any further upgrades and the like will be saved for Minecraft 2? (Let's face it, there's always a sequel)
  20. Hello! I´ve been following AJS for a few years now but created my account here just recently. I don´t know why it took so long but I´m glad I´m here, at last! I just wanted to say hello to everyone and I´m glad I can be a part of this community. My real name is Conny and I am from Sweden. I like to play mostly Single Player games (I like the paus-function, hehe), and Witcher 3 Is my favorite game as of now. I like many Ubisoft games as well, especially the AC-series and POP. I also enjoy listening to music, NF and Post Malone are my favorite artists at the moment. I´m looking forward to meeting new people here and just hit me up if you wonder anything else about me! /Conny (Zandor)

  23. Fun fact: This game had been under my radar since 2008 when it was on the Wii. Unfortunately the game was never translated to English so I couldn't play it even if I wanted to...... until 2018 when this game was released in English, but by that time I was playing other games. So now I finally played this game after a recent Steam Sale that drops the game price from $70 to $14 (what a discount!). I am so damn glad I played this game because this game is FUCKING AMAZING!! HOLY SHIT, this game earned its legendary cult status for a reason! The plot of this game is initially simple enough. A girl named Maria Osawa was kidnapped, and the kidnappers demanded that her twin sister Hitomi deliver the ransom money in front of the Hachiko statue, aka that dog statue that's in a couple of games & films in the past. Of course, it doesn't go as smoothly as hoped. Some shenanigans happen during the ransom exchange, and so begins this roller coaster of a ride filled with suspense, plot twists, surprisingly heartfelt moments & a lot of funny ass shit. And I fucking love it! Unlike most VNs where you only have 1 main character to keep track of, this game has 5. Achi: a young dude who likes to clean up the streets & stumbled upon Hitomi so they have to run away from the kidnappers that want to catch her Kano: an inexperienced detective who is trying his best to follow the footstep of a detective he idolizes, while also trying to get the approval of his father in law to marry his girlfriend. Oh the family drama. Minorikawa: a freelance reporter that likes to points at stuff & is trying his best to help his former boss pay off his loan shark debt Osawa: the father of Maria & Hitomi who is trying to figure out what the kidnappers want and Tama: a girl that got stuck in a cat costume. And she holds so many secrets that I can't say anything more. Sounds overwhelming, but the game handles this extremely well. See the game is like the show 24 where you follow these 5 characters but in the span of 1 hour per episode/chapters. So when the game begins, you follow what the characters are doing from 10:00 - 11:00 am, and then the next chapters pretty much follow the same hourly patterns up until the very end of the game where everything comes together. Now you might be thinking "I'll just follow 1 character from the beginning to the end for every one of these chapters then", but the game actually does something quite clever in making you jump through different characters. In this game, you have to switch to another character constantly because most of the time you will reach a "keep out" sign which signifies that you have to change into another character first to proceed to the next stage of that character, or a bad end will happen when you're just following 1 character. So for example: You play as Minorikawa & you're just following his story of him riding a taxi to his former boss' office. All of a sudden, Kano just jumps into the taxi asking for a ride, but eventually, Kano just gave up and left. Unfortunately because of that interruption, Minorikawa arrived ad his boss' office too late & the boss killed himself. BAD END. So what you have to do is change your character to Kano and then pick the option to NOT go into the taxi, which makes the game proceed to the next stage. There are many times where this happen, and the game has 85 bad ends. JAEZUS! Luckily these bad ends are what makes the game fun to play & some of them are just hilarious that you pretty much play the game to get these bad endings. Hell in one of these bad endings, you pretty much can get a game over because you ran into a cockroach after another character threw that thing away, and then in the end you dedicated your life to cleaning the streets so there are no more cockroaches. Another one is this bad end where Kano meets his father in law too early & the game ends with him becoming a farmer & happily marrying his girlfriend. How the hell is marrying the girl you love a bad end?? @_@ I also love the presentation of this game because everything is either played in cheesy live action, or still photographs of these actors/actresses doing silly stuff with photoshopped images in the background. You can very much tell that the cast and crew of this game were having a DAMN good time just posing & acting these scenes out. You know what else I love about this game? The damn soundtrack. When the intro of the game begins and I heard this hype as hell music, I know I'm in for something great. What's great about this song is that everytime you complete the chapters for everyone, there's a preview of the next upcoming 1 hour with this awesome song playing, which just makes your blood pumped & excited to see what's next. The rest of the songs are filled with so many great tunes that makes each scenes enjoyable to watch, whether they're comedic scenes, suspense scenes or scenes that makes you want to tear up. The only thing that I don't like about this game is very nitpicky: you can't skip texts. You know how in VN games you can just press CTRL to skip dialogues so you can get to the next part quicker? Well you can't do that here. Good thing is this game has a pretty useful autoscroll so you don't have to click all the time to see the next sections, but having the skip function will be pretty nice. But that's ok though because I played this game for 25 hours straight from the beginning to the end, anticipating what the next twists of this game are, and in the end I ended up freaking loving every single thing I experienced. Not only is the 25 hours journey freaking awesome, but after finishing the game, there's actually a buttload of extra stuff for you to see, like the stories of the various side characters of this game, and one particular extra story which is so damn cool. If you get the true ending of the game, you get to see an extra chapter about one of the characters in this game named Canaan, and surprise surprise, this chapter is created by Nasu from Type-Moon. YES, the guy who made Tsukihime & the Fate series, so the chapter is very much like playing one of his linear VNs, complete with Fate like animations & voice acting. And fun fact: that extra chapter & this entire game is actually a prequel to the anime Canaan which takes place 2 years after this game. Now I want to see that anime! That's why my rating for this game is "so awesome that I am now going to watch the Canaan anime & wait for Canaan to hopefully be included in Fate Grand Order". AKA 9.9 out of 10 with a badass seal of approval! You know what I just realized? This game is made by the same dev who made Danganronpa & the Zero Escape games, so you bet your ass that this game is that damn awesome. And what's amazing is that this game was made 1 year before Zero Escape, so this game is actually the one who started the "prepare to get your mind blown" format of those other 2 games. Funny how we finally get to play this game in English in 2018 eh? Go get the game to complete the what I call "mind-blowing mystery adventure collection", and prepare to enjoy the ride!
