Hey guys! We're going to be doing a live stream on Twitch for a 25 hour gaming marathon from 4 pm EST (Saturday the 4th) to 5pm EST (Sunday the 5th). We will be raising money for the "Sick Kids Hospital" through the ChildsPlay charity!

We have a series of charity events planned over the course of the next weeks/months (US/EU kids hospitals) so you guys are all encouraged to tune-in!

We will be giving away Steam Keys/Games throughout the event! So please tune-in this weekend and donate whatever you like!

The Results

Hey everyone! Our first charity drive was successfully concluded yesterday (Sunday) @ 5pm. We ran a 25 hour gaming marathon with the aim of raising 3000$ for the "SickKids Foundation" via ChildsPlay and managed to hit almost half of our objective! The weeks (and days/hours) leading up to the event were tremendously hectic/busy and despite a few technical setbacks (and a tight 3 day promotional window) we achieved our desired end state: That of a successful charity event that helped generate funds for kids and positively contribute to the gaming community as a whole.

Over the course of the event (for those who might've missed it) we played a variety of games such as Chivalry: Medieval Warfare 'Deadliest Warrior', Payday2, Smite, Castle Crashers, Team Fortress2, BF4, etc. We gave out prizes to people who donated and viewers who participated in our Twitch channel chat (more details can be found on our Facebook).

Here are some comments donors added along with their ChildsPlay contributions:

"So glad this is going to the one in Toronto. My sister is going in there for surgery later in the month, it's really a fantastic cause. I have had other sisters who have been taken care of by Sickkids and they did a phenomenal job."

"I love this project and wish you all the success. This charity and others of the sort all over the world really help making every day more fun for the children, put a smile on the parents faces and make work more enjoyable for the ones taking care of them, I have seen it myself as a medical student [...]"

It was incredibly motivating for us to see this type of response from people over the course of the event and it's all the incentive we need to continue doing these events.

The overwhelming show of support from within the gaming community (and on such short notice) was more than we could've ever hoped and was of tremendous help. On a "personal" note, we'd like to thank all the people (and friends/family) from within the AJSA community who helped us promote the event, who donated, moderated, and who viewed/participated over the 25 hours. It couldn't have been done without your help!  All this being said, we have at least two more events planned for ChildsPlay that will aim for a US hospital/foundation and a EU one along with plans for many more events/charity drives for a wide range of causes over the course of the next weeks, months and years!

Thanks again!

Nice project. I shall be there for it, hopefully most of the AJSA will come check it out, Just out of curiosity, will it be the same game all the way through, will it be a mix up or will you take requests (assuming there not obscure)?

Just for kicks whats the chances you guys could just drink coffee or energy drinks and just eat sugary sweets / sugary foods all the way through it... Would make for some funny streaming. Not that half asleep folk arent funny to watch sometimes...

Anyway it plays out you guys are great for doing this, ill see if i can get my less tight pocketed mates to come watch you guys and be generous, otherwise ill make them watch 25 hours of sex and the city.
